Traffic sign recognition possible?
Hello, I have 01/2020 Scala that came with Lane departure Assist, Acc and basically every assist system possible when I was ordering the car. Recently I activated dynamic lane assist as I was tired of the lane departure assist. I also tried to follow a guide I found online to turn on the Traffic sign recognition. And while I was successful in enabling all the menu options and getting rid of error messages, no traffic signs were ever recognized. I thought I might have the "old" lower resolution camera which was talked about in a lot of online posts and that's the reason why Traffic sign recognition wouldn't work for me. I have now however found another page which suggests that traffic sign recognition should be possible with the exact camera I have. Below is excerpt from my VCDS auto-scan of the A5 module. Could somebody help me understand if the HW and SW versions on my camera module are the right ones for Traffic Sign recognition to work? Did anyone else with a similar Scala manage to get Traffic Sign Recognition to work?

User selection screen auto-confirm possible?
Yeah I fell like a complete idiot. I was 100% sure that I am the primary user as I followed the steps, had to have both keys with me and the whole deal and never changed anything. And I technically am the primary user. However, at some point, someone (probably while the car was in the service) must have change it and selected the guest user. It was around the time of a Software update that I noticed the initial "Welcome" screen never really going away on it's own unless I click "OK". After the response from Aldfort, I went into the "Change User" screen, with the confidence of "pfffft.... I am the primary user and I haven't touched it since I bought the car". I was humbled really quickly when I saw that the "Guest" user was selected. Thinking of it now, I shook of the change after the update as "skoda screwed up" but I also remember that the car was in the service around the same time. And I think I am not the only one who had settings changed after a visit to the dealer... Yeah now the screen stays for a few seconds and then jumps Carplay which is exactly what I wished for.

User selection screen auto-confirm possible?
Hi, I it seems like I am the only one annoyed by this because there aren't any on-topic posts about this. I am, for a very long time annoyed every single time I start my car, as every single time I get the "loading user" screen followed by the "Welcome" screen. I am always wondering what the heck is the car loading, as my Steam-library has more reasons to load that long but actually loads faster. But this is beyond the point, it was just a rant and the loading rarely takes longer than 10 seconds. My actual annoyance comes from the "welcome" screen, after, where I can manage users. EVERY... SINGLE... TIME... I am then required to press a button on the infotainment to continue. Although ever since I bought the car the user profile hasn't been changed once and there is no other user profile (except for guest but that cannot be removed). Isn't there anything that can be done? I would even accept a couple seconds timeout, after which it would automatically continue into my user profile, but no. Unless I press on the damned button I cannot start my windshield heating (as it doesn't have a physical button) or do anything with the infotainment.

ACC Stalk Set speed increase / decrease from 10km/h to 5km/h
Hello, I was wondering if it is possible to change by how much the ACC set speed increases / decreases when moving the ACC stalk up / down? I am not the biggest fan of the ACC set speed jumping by 10km/h when moving the ACC stalk up and down and I would prefer this rather to be just 5km/h. I also know that pulling the stalk towards the driver adds 1km/h and pressing the side button reduces the set speed by1km/h but this is too little. I tried looking around, but I am possibly searching the wrong terms, as I found only one post (here on Briskoda) where the discussion went off-point and then died. I would also not mind the 10km/h step IF it would add 10km/h to my current set speed. For example I set ACC to 45km/h and the pushing the ACC stalk up to set the speed to 55km/h. Unfortunately it jumps to 50km/h and then I have to pull the stalk towards me 5 times to get to 55km/h.

Replacing the Scala grill surround - any advice/tips?
Late to answer, but I did change mine to the Monte Carlo black last year. If you are getting some work done on your car it's the easiest to just add this and have someone experience do it. I did mine by using breaking the tabs that hold it in place. Although I wanted to keep the chrome one for myself and not selling it, I ended up snapping it in a few pieces so it unfortunately went to trash. I did no damage to the grill or the bumper and the new one went on without issues but I don't think I would do it again this way. The only other option would have been to take the front bumper down, but under not circumstance do it yourself if you have the front assist radar, or you don't know what you are doing. If you unplug the radar module you will have to have it re-calibrated and at least where I am that would have ended up costing about the same as just the Grill surround (150 euros) (source - my neighbor wanted to change the grill on his Octavia vRS and ended up unplugging the module. Had to go to an authorized skoda dealer to have ti re-calibrated). Still if I am not wrong, if you take the front bumper down you still need to have the radar re-calibrated if you want to go by the book.

Wireless Android Auto on Scala - no internet
Hey @fyren, I completely forgot that I had written to Skoda about this. Yeah basically the response was "Android Auto doesn't work wirelessly on the Amundsen in the Scala" but it's "due for an update" however they couldn't tell me when it will be updated, if it will be a hardware or software update, and if it will be available for older cars... So another false advertising from Skoda (for me at least).

Wireless Android Auto on Scala - no internet
Thanks @PeePay for the answer. I found the guide from @ajrimmer and tried doing that, although at some point I already tried those steps before. I also specifically chose the "Wireless smartlink" option thinking that I will hopp into my car and I would already have Waze on the screen and my music playing (like it works for my wife). For some time I even thought they didn't add the wireless option but once I got the CarPlay to work I knew it couldn't be that. I think this has to do with the information I found in the configurator, that Android Auto Wireless is available except for the Amundsen. I don't understand why exactly the highest end Infotainment wouldn't support just Android Auto wirelessly. Unfortunatelly for me this was the only option in the trim I chose. I will write to Skoda to see if there is any chance that they are working on it and that maybe some time soon a OTA update would make it work. It doesn't seem like anything more than a software issue. Thanks for the help anyway.

Wireless Android Auto on Scala - no internet
When did you get yours and what did you have to do to get Wireless Android Auto working? I bought my Scala in February (also in Slovakia) and my infotainment system, in the help-menu of the SmartLink mentions Carplay via USB and Wirelesa and Android Auto and Mirror-Link only via USB. I know they made some changes in April and now even on the Configurator it says that Wireless Android Auto is available except for the Amundsen Infotainment system (guess which one I have). I have been struggling with getting the wireless part of Android Auto to work while CarPlay worked seconds after pairing my wifes phone to the car, so I would be very thankfull for any help / ideas.

Skoda Scala top speed limiter?
HI all, I am fighting with a very stupid issue right now. Over the weekend I went to drive around in my Scala (1,5 TSI 6 speed manual) and I wanted to see what she's got. I had to find out that the top speed is electronically limited well below what it says on the paper. I know many of you will jump and say it's not necessary to even have that kind of a top speed and others will say that it's various factors that influence the ability of a car to reach it's top speed, so let me unpack here a bit. *DISCLAIMER* - I did all of this driving on an empty highway at night and I was the only one in the car. I was the only one who was in any "danger". I am 100% sure that there is a limiter. On the stretch of highway where I drove there is a small hill up and then a hill down. I was pinned at 209km/h - 210km/h (indicated speed - NOT gps speed) on the way up the hill and the same speed when going downhill. This already doesn't make sense. To be even more certain I switched the digital dashboard to the view where you can see the power utilization of the engine, and while on the way up the small hill it was at 110 kw, on the way down it started to go down to 90 - 100 kw. This is the same behavior as when you use the speed limiter function and approach the desired speed. It might seem like I am "just 10km below the advertised top speed" but that is not true. The 210km/h is indicated speed. GPS said that I was going 197km/h and the car is supposed to be doing 220km/h. That is a 10% difference between what is advertised and what is actually possible. My issue here is that I was never told there would be a limiter, I cannot find anything about a limiter and my cars registration papers say that the car is able to do 220km/h. The last one is the reason why I have to buy tires rated for 240km/h (V speed rating). These tires are more expensive than the ones rated for 210km/h (H speed rating). If I still use the H-rated tires I am risking fines if the polices stops me, or simply failing the technical inspection. So this is where I come to the questions that I am having: 1) Has anyone heard about a speed limiter like this? (except of cars like some Audi RS models, and some AMG models which can go well above 250km/h but are limited to 250km/h only) 2) Is this something which was put in place by the dealer, or from skoda? 3) Is it possible to remove the limiter with VCDS or VCP? 4) Am I missing something? - I thought it might be some break-in limiter but I have seen videos on youtube showing that people with 750 km driven were able to achieve the top speed. My car has 3700km already, before anyone points out I shouldn't be running the car at those speeds in the break-in period
