I agree. I looked at many reviews on YouTube and found most had both the premium winter pack and the charging pack fitted so it can definitely be done, I had a Fabia Monte Carlo before ordering a Scala and had the premium winter pack and the USB-C by the mirror. I will miss the heated steering wheel but had to compromise. I settled on a Monte Carlo 1 litre DSG with Winter pack, Charging Pack, Convenience Plus Pack, spare wheel and Variable Boot Floor, in Moon White Metallic, Car is due to be built week 34 so should be here in early September. My Fabia was a 1.5 and went very well but I tried the latest 1 litre 116 ps aand found the performance to be more than enough for my needs with the bonus that it was rated as 15 ins grp rather than 20 for the 1.5 so should help to get a better Ins quote when the time comes.

I was told the same thing but worked out that you can have the winter pack with the charging pack. You have to forgo the heated steering wheel and screen but you get heated seats and washer jets. I wanted the premium pack but accepted this compromise as it is so much easier to power a dashcam. Incidentally no one at ŠKODA uk cust service or ŠKODA cz cust ser or the dealer suggested this but my dealer was allow ed to order the car like this. I know that’s not much help now but it might help a future buyer

It is always good to have someone on here who is an expert, The text you refer to clearly says headlamps which, on my car, are already LED. It seems strange that you are so well up on this that you have "lost count of the times I was failed for LED sightlight bulbs". I would have thought that once you were failed once that would be enough. Thanks as always for your input. It is always good to have different points of view.

Hi, to set the height of the fog lamps on the 2018 on facelift models there is a hole below the fog lights which has been given an angled slant. On my car, which is the facelift version, you can insert a TX40 driver into the hole, which, if you get the angle right will engage with the adjuster socket allowing you to move the lamp aim up or down without removing the plastic cover. I appreciate you would have to do this blind but if you follow the angle correctly it should engage OK. I was changing the bulbs when I discovered this and so was able to adjust the lamps before I refitted the covers. When I adjusted the fogs on my previous car (2015 Octavia estate 1.4 TSi) I think the plastic fronts that surround the lamp have to be removed and the adjuster is then visible. If I remember correctly, on this model there is a hole in the surround, but this is to insert the wire pull device that sits in the spare wheel kit, or the kit without the spare, which allows you to pull off the surrounds and is not for adjustment of the light. Page 234 of the manual helps but I guess you already know how to remove the covers. Hope that is of use. BTW, already done the indicators and your right, look great.

Just a postscript note on this. I now have all the external lights running LED bulbs with no errors with the exception of the number plate lamps that are quite bright enough. So, the car came with LED front side lights, head and dip lamps, rear lights, brake lights and offside rear fog light. It now has LED rear indicators, reverse lights and front fog lights. It also has LED boot lamps in white and open door marker lamps in red from Superskoda. I shall rest now.

An Update on this topic. Today I received a pair of LED H8 bulbs from ABD.co.uk as I really wasn't happy with the Osram Nightbreakers that were sold as a 150% brighter upgrade which they definitely were not. Having had the warning earlier about errors and having to reprogram the car I bit the bullet as these were sold as canbus ready. Having changed the fog lamp bulbs once these were installed in about twenty minutes with no errors/warning lights showing. I made sure to check all combinations of headlights on. dip/main/fogs only, but all worked perfectly. The improvement was really good as the fogs are now the same bright white as the LED headlights and the range is much much better. They were quite expensive at £49.99 but I guess you get what you pay for. I did look at Alibaba LED bulbs but they were so cheap I could not see they were going to do the job, and I wanted to do the job now not wait six weeks or more. The service from ABD was again excellent as was the support when I needed to check something with them. I have attached the description in case anyone wants to try them.

Have you got any links to the VW Forum threads to see what solutions they came up with. In my case the dealer found fault codes listed but did not have an answer saying they would refer it to Skoda Technical. They did say it was a known issue. Also whats a "lemom Law"?

OK Thanks. I changed both rear indicator and reverse light bulbs to LED with no errors. The LED bulbs were sold as 99% canbus OK which seems to be the case. Shame about the fogs though.

Thats interesting, the fault started when we had some cold(-2 C) weather. Since then it has retained the fault intermittently. Did they have to change both left levers because they come as a unit and did that cure the problem?

Recently the warning lamp fro ACC has shown amber with a question mark and the ACC and, also the lane control which I don't use, both do not work. After a restart the boot up process seems to work ok and the car behaves normally for the rest of the day. In the last month and a half this fault has become intermitent, occuring on some days not others. A couple of days at the dealers confirmed that this is a known fault but it has to be referred to Skoda technical as solution as apparently not been found yet. So far I've been waiting a month so was wondering if anyone has this fault or better a solution for a fix?

Hi All, just fitted a pair of Osram Nightbreaker H8 35w bulbs into the front fogs. While they look nearer to a white light than the originals the improvement wasn't really worth the cost. The light was improved but mainly by adjusting the aim of the lamps. Taking the plastic suround covers off is a difficult job requiring considerable strength and nerve to do. On my older Octavia there were holes provided to assist this to give something to leaver on. Not so on this model but I realised, once the cover was off, that the hole that is there is actually to allow adjustment with out removing the covers if you don't need to change the bulbs. If you slide Tx40 driver into the hole at the right angle it will locate in the adjuster. I might consider upgrading the fogs to LED but is it true that the ECU would need reprogramming? I have also swapped out the rear indicators and reverse lamp bulbs to LED ones and here the difference is very marked and was well worth it. I used a UK supplier rather than Alibaba and the cost for the four was £24.99 for the yellow and £22.99 for white. Supplier was ABD.co.uk and the lamps were 581 Twenty20 Impact Cree LED Canbus Amber 12v PY21W & 382 Twenty20 Impact Cree LED Canbus white 12v P21W. No errors shown and all working well. I was pleased to find two youtube videos that that were a great help as they took me through both operations and the car was the exact same model as mine. hope this is of use

I see your problem. I think you will have to do some sort of carpentry to build up the sides to go underneath the polystyrene. I assume you have a 4x4 with a skinny spare in so already have the kit we have been talking about.

Good luck with that sir. The kit I fitted is for the 4x4 but only gives you the height necessary for the skinny spare. That being said don't under estimate the use of the skinny spare. Sure it is listed as 50 miles at 50 mph, (at least that's what most spares are), but I've seen them go a fair distance further although I wouldn't go over that 50mph speed advice. After all it is only meant as a get you home measure and it is rare these days to pick up a puncture in a good tyre. Fair enough a blow out on the Mway will result in spare having to be fitted but a screw in a tyre will lose air surporisingly slowly and carrying a small compressor would almost certainly get you home without having to resort to the spare.

Hi Tom Apparently the Karoq 4 x 2 can have an almost full size spare (215/60 R 16) if ordered at the time the car is bought. It can also be ordered with a skinny spare (125/70 R 18)at the time of purchase. The local Skoda parts guy told me that, if a spare had not been ordered from new and was required after the purchase then only the skinny wheel could be ordered. This would still have to have a polystyrene insert fitted which would be as per the photos earlier but is different to this $X$ kit.. What has been discovered by others on this site is that, by using the kit to add the skinny spare wheel to a 4 x 4 version the 4 x 2 can be fitted with the larger wheel and I guess that is what would be fitted if ordered at purchase. Looking at my install of the slightly thinner Octavia wheel the 215 Karoq wheel would go in perfectly. I haven't tried it yet but it looks like even the 17" road wheel would fit as well which is the same section (215/55) but on a 17" wheel.

Hi All The partnumber supplied previosly 57A093860A is listed by Skoda as for a skinny spare wheel to fit the 4x4 Karoq. My parts guy insisted that you can't fit a full size spare into a Karoq even though I showed him that it is on the new car options. The kit comes with all the parts needed and cost me £95. As the 4x4 comes with no floor well in the boot this kit is designed to allow a skinny space saver to be fitted. But as we know the 4x2 already has a well and so adding this kit allows a full size spare to be fitted. I had a spare from an Octavia which was slightly smaller in width than the Karoq version but the bolt holes were the same. Karoq full size spare is 215/60 R 16 whereas the Octavia spare is 205/55 R 16. Given that it would not be on the car for long I think the 10mm is neither here or there. As can be seen in the pics above you will need to put a support in the middle of the wheel as the one that comes with the kit is for the skinny wheel and is too low. I didn't have the problem as the Octavia wheel already had the tools and jack in the centre so support wasn't an issue. Some more about the installation. The car was ordered with no spare so came with the pump etc. This meant that the screw studs that should stick up from the boot floor that allow you to secure the new polysterene pieces were missing. Found not to be a problem as the three pieces fit so snugly that they don't move at all. The replacement floor comes with four corners with poliysterene underneath to locate the floor into the side pieces. I found that I had to remove some of this material to allow the floor to sit down properly. The new floor comes with a flap at the rear to stop items going down behind the seats and also both sides lift to give access to the side pieces where you can store stuff without lifting the whole floor. I also found that the best way to fit is to lay the back piece in first and then slot in the sides. As I didn't have the vario seats I did not have to alter the back piece.

I have an Octavia L&K 2.0 litre DSG 1969 that came with twin electric seats in the front. There was no unbrella holder present and I was told that it could not be added. Today I took delivery of an underseat drawer from AliExpress that was actually advertised for Audi or VW but was for electric seat versions. Cost was £34.92 and it took 2 months exactly to get here from China. It fitted the seat as it should clipping in the back and using the two suipplied screws to secure at the front. I used a M10 socket to undo the four seat fixing bolts in order to allow the seat to tip back enough to see what I was doing. I also needed a T10 screwdriver to take the front off the drawer to get at the fixing screws. Although it does not match the seat surround perfectly it fits under the seat well and opens and closes properly. It had to go on the Drivers side because the Canton SS Amp stops it fitting the passenger seat. Hope this is useful to the group.
