Scala 1.5 tsi Montecarlo 2024: airbag error
I had this problem at the beginning of June, but I have not had the recall yet for the software update. It has certainly taken them a while to get it sorted!

Changing from Fabia 1.2TSI (110) to Scala 1.0TSI (116)
No I've never had any issues with the first one, this one is waiting for an software update from Skoda, which is affecting a lot of the Scala's from the factory, it is to do with the airbag warning light, but that has been it for the moment.

Scala - question before buying
My 24 Scala with ACC, shows the Speed limit on the virtual cockpit and if you exceed it the speed sign flashes and gives you a pinging noise for 5 secs then goes quiet. You can still ignore the speed limit and set the ACC to whatever you like. One thing I do like about the ACC is when the speed limit is changing from say 40 to a 30 the car automatically brakes so that when you pass the sign you are doing 30mph. But one pain in the rear with that system is that when you are on a dual carriageway at 70, it comes up and says bend ahead when there is a curve in the road and tries to slow the car down to something like 55, even thought the bend is slight, so you have to override it. It still has a long way to go yet before it becomes fool proof! Speed limiters have not been mandated in GB yet, only in Northern Ireland at the moment as they are classed as in the EU. But give the government a year or two, and it will be pushed through by the back door.

New Scala - any strange anomalies and warning lights
I had the TPMS warning go off now and again in the old one, checked, nothing found. The speed sign camera took a dicky fit in the first week, read the manual, advised by manual to turn car off leave and it should reset, left it overnight and when I went to work following day was working fine and has since. I solved the rear seat belt warning by chance, I was hoovering the back seat after the dog had been in, kneeling on the drivers side seat and forgot to plug the seat belt back in, but noticed that it was showing the seat empty and not pinging, unplugged the other two and it started to ping again. So I thought I will sit on each seat in turn and leave the seat belts unplugged, and that has cured it. I am still waiting for the recall for the software for the airbag warning light that came on, dealer informed by Skoda it is a software fault and they are working on the fix, it is not a hardware problem. Maybe your lights glitch is a software fault to. So much computing power in cars these days, no wonder the computer says no!

Changing from Fabia 1.2TSI (110) to Scala 1.0TSI (116)
I'm on my second Scala, and with both of them had the 1.0L engine, I find it more than meets my needs. It is more bhp than my old diesel Octavia, which only had 110 bhp, and I couldn't tell the difference. As for MPG on my last one I could get 60 - 62 on a long motorway journey and around 50 around the doors, my new ones not quite there yet only 7 weeks old.

Scala 1.5 tsi Montecarlo 2024: airbag error
Take it to the dealers. I've had exactly the same thing happen on my 24 Scala, only 3 weeks old, took it to the dealers yesterday, with the airbag error and also mentioned that the rear seatbelts had to be plugged in all the time, or they ping at you and flash the seatbelt sign on the dash. They put the computer on and came back to say that it is a software error that Skoda are aware of, Skoda say it is not due to any faulty parts and they are aware of more cars with this problem, and are working on a software fix for both these things, as they are interconnected through the software. They cleared the air bag error for now and have told me there are other cars at this dealership waiting for the same update. They have left the fault open so that when the software fix comes through they will call me back in to have the car updated.

New Scala Niggles
I haven't found anything in the menu's, I have messaged Skoda to see what they say.

New Scala Niggles
Starting to get to grips with the new Scala. I like the way the adaptive cruise control automatically changes for the speed limits when the camera reads the signs, but it gets confused in some places where it thinks it's 60mph not 70mph, because it hasn't seen the national speed limit sign on the entrance to a dual carriageway, but halfway along it must read the sat nav data and corrects itself. I like the fact I now have android auto wireless, so for short journeys I don't have to take my phone out of my pocket and plug it in to use it. One niggle I have is that the rear seat belts now need to be plugged in all the time or it starts to ping at you and flash the red seat belt symbol at you. The other niggle I have now is that when listening to android auto and using the sat nav at the same time it now stops what your listening to while it gives the direction, where as the old system used to just over lay the announcement on top of the audio you were listening to. It doesn't do it when you are listening to the radio. I have solved it for the moment by changing the sat nav to just chiming when a new instruction is given, and this is over laid on to of the audio. One thing I do like is that the system starts much quicker when you turn the ignition on, compared to the old one.

Has anyone used to Skoda Data Plans
The 60GB yearly one seems to be quite good value, as I am paying about the same on my mobile phone contract a month, for about the same amount of data. It would mean that I would be able to listen to the web stations without eating into my mobile data. Has anyone used it?

New 24 Scala Ordered today
Well I picked it up this afternoon, and the first thing I noticed is how much quieter it is in the cabin when driving. But one big niggle I have found already is when using android auto to listen to Audible, when the Nav gives instructions it now pauses Audible until it is finished. My old Scala 70 plate would just super impose the voice directions over what ever was being played, Audible or Spotify. But if you are listening to the radio instead of android auto, it works just how it used to. It has me wondering if it is due to the newer version of smartlink+ that it comes with now? I will have to investigate further but I might just have to put the verbal instructions to mute like I used to do on google maps. I will have to give it a few days before I get everything set up to the way it was. Then I will give a better write up of my thoughts.

Don’t forget to delete all your old cars data before trading in.
They returned my car back to factory settings a couple of hours after I left it with them this afternoon, I got an email message saying the Skoda app was disconnected from my old car and could no longer be used.

New 24 Scala Ordered today
I have changed the date, I am going to pick it up on 23rd, after work. I have taken the 5 days Insurance and swapped the car on my insurance policy, and I am going to get a £50 reduction in this years premiums! I will continue with the MySkoda app, as I find it useful.

New 24 Scala Ordered today
I had the call this morning to say my Scala is at the Dealer. I am having to wait until 27th May to pick it up as I can't get a day off before end of next week. I could have had next week if I was able to get away from the salt mine. I am going to the dealers tomorrow to sign the paperwork, as I can't do it online, as I have the old style paper driving licence. But the dealer is only about 15 mins from home, so no hardship. I am going to get the 5 days insurance, as it is 5 days less I have to pay on mine, but I still wonder how much they will put it up when I change it? Mine only had to come 6 miles form the dock to the dealer, so I suppose it was quicker to fit it onto a truck. I probably will take a peak at it tomorrow.

Handbrake position
I have never found it a problem, driving a Scala for 3.5 years, then again my previous Fabia had it so was used to it. The Peugeots have them, but their driving position is atrocious, you cannot see the dashboard when the seat is in a certain position.
