  1. I have never found it a problem, driving a Scala for 3.5 years, then again my previous Fabia had it so was used to it. The Peugeots have them, but their driving position is atrocious, you cannot see the dashboard when the seat is in a certain position.
  2. I have had my build week confirmed as week 17, built by 28th April, so looks like delivery end of May.😀 Only another 7 weeks or so to wait. 🥱 Had a look at the Monte Carlo that was in the show room today as well, and the car looks really good. Had it with the glass roof, do not like that. But otherwise it looks even better in the flesh.
  3. The Toyota President hit the nail on the head when he said that there would never be more than about 35% of the worlds cars electric ever. As he pointed out in Africa and parts of Asia there isn't even electricity. Never mind the infrastructure to charge cars.
  4. ^ My sentiments exactly. Not as many electric cars up here in Northumberland, especially when your out in country, chargers are very few and far between, up here. They push the tourism here, but the people who come here with their EV's, and go to the tourist hotspots to find there are 1 or 2 chargers if your lucky. Most of the places in the National Park or coast haven't even got any! It will be a year or 3 before they even get them, Northumberland County Council would love to put them in, but when a whole villages power comes over 3 cables on telegraph poles from 10 or 20 miles from the nearest large substation, there is hardly enough power for the village, never mind car chargers.
  5. Not had a confirmed build week yet, but the salesman will probably update me next week as he gives me an update about every 4 weeks as to how it is progressing. I remember when I had a factory order of a Fabia about 7 years ago, you could go on to Skoda website and put your order number in and it gave the latest update of where the car was. I saw that my Fabia had ended up been sent over from Emden on an empty Nissan car carrier coming back to Jarrow to pick up more Nissans from the Sunderland Factory. Took it almost 2 weeks to come 5 miles as the crow flies to the dealership in Cramlington. Would only had to come 4 miles if it had come into VAG dock on the other side of the Tyne, and probably a week less of sitting waiting. I nearly offered to drive up to the dealer myself! If you take the ferry to Amsterdam, you drive down past all the imported VAG cars sitting at the dock.
  6. Mine is Energy Blue, the current one is Race Blue (metallic). Saw the solid blue on a car in the show room and really liked it. I still have to sort out the fixed price servicing, mentioned it when I ordered the car, but the salesman said to deal with it later, so I will have to remind him nearer the time.
  7. Mines due for service in the middle of June, but if it is a matter of a week or so before delivery I will not be getting it done!
  8. I will hopefully have mine before I have my Hols in June. And I won't need to bother getting this one serviced.
  9. I have been given a provisional build date of week 17, last week in April. So it looks like a June delivery.
  10. That is still 4 months, so not far off the various time frames they are quoting. Would be nice to get in June to coincide with my summer hols. The reason I am cancelling the agreement is that in the old days I would have bought it cash. But you now get a very poor deal that way, by entering into the PCP and putting a 50% deposit with your trade in and Skoda contribution, which is in effect a discount from Skoda of £2250. Withdrawing from the PCP agreement after a couple of days and paying the remaining 50% balance means that you only end up paying a few pounds in interest instead of thousands and you own the car outright straight away. If you paid say half the PCP off and settled after that you have already given VW finance a healthy amount of your money, the car companies want to keep you tied in to the never ending PCP cycle, as they are virtually guaranteed another new car sale.
  11. I have put in an order today for a New 24 Scala, to replace my previous Scala, I have been waiting for the new orders to open. Scala SE L 116hp with Premium Winter Package, Assisted Drive Package & the Spare Wheel Kit. I have taken the PCP route, but informed the dealer that I would be withdrawing from the agreement as soon as it is delivered. He said no problem, as it was a better deal than I would have got paying straight cash. Managed to wangle an extra £1k off the price as well as the Skoda £2250 deposit contribution. Now it is the long wait for delivery quoting, between 5 - 8 months. So I will just have to wait & see.
  12. I have the SE with 115 engine, I think with the 16" wheels. On a long run motorways etc. I can get as high as 62.5mpg, shorter runs around town over 15 miles about 50-55mpg & and on my short trip to work 6 miles about 45-48mpg
  13. ^ It worked straight away when I went through the registration, and was going great until it suddenly stopped. I've had mine into the dealer, and the computer found 6 faults, the tech said it could be a loose connection, it goes in tomorrow for a proper look and hopefully to be repaired. So I'm in a courtesy car until its sorted.
  14. Hi Reading from posts in other model forums on Briskoda, it seems that the Skoda servers are having a wobbly at the minute! When I try to load in my calendar it tells me to log in with my MYSKODA credentials, when I try it just says there was a problem so I press try again and wait to no luck. I was wondering if anyone else has had problems with the my skoda on their car? Mines been like this since Tuesday. I think I will email Skoda to ask them what they're doing about it.
  15. I have managed to solve this. You have to either have a data plan or use your phone as a hotspot for the car the get the necessary data.
