Superb MKIII owners register
My new toy.... MY2020 1.5 DSG SE...... shame its not the SE L I wanted but genuine 4.5K miles was too alluring. Returning my company XC60 phev on Friday so a welcome to retirement I guess.

Not for sale but available...GONE
I have a 15" steel spare wheel to suit a 2016 Octavia surplus to requirements. If any one can use it drop me a message. I won't post, but will store it for a couple of weeks (in the garden), if that helps. Located in the south west, just outside Bristol. Is too good to scrap, it's never been on a car, but I can't use it. Just the wheel and tyre. Mods if this needs moving please do, I just want to help if I can.

Bought late 2022 Superb Estate, getting to know it bit by bit...here's the first thing.
Whether you have sat nav or not Android Auto and either Google maps or Waze is the best imho. 13 engineers driving octavia estates tell me google is way better than skoda sat nav. The rear map lights confused me at first but I couldn't switch mine off..... read on here that the switches are the opposite to what you expect.... have a play, I doubt you've disabled them.

Part number needed if possible
So refitted the unit and tested. It lights when the ignition is on.... more to rebuild something like a light.... watch this space.

Part number needed if possible
I've stripped a usb lead and powered the unit and it works, not sure if it's supposed to be 12v powered but 5v dc gives me some light.... roll on the weekend and I grt to play with the car.

Easy fit dash cam
There's my problem then, MY21. Mine is MY20.... door rubber route it is then. Its the usual way I was just hoping to be lazy! Great information, thanks all.

Easy fit dash cam
That makes sense.... hard wired kit to be ordered then. Cheers

Easy fit dash cam
I realise this but as easy as that may be if there is an easy 5v pick up at the mirror, as in the latest Octavias that would be easier. Just thinking out loud really.

Easy fit dash cam
Can I ask a stupid question? Is there anyway to pick up power for a dash cam from the rear view mirror area? I'm thinking that there is lighting in the roofline so could it be used?

Getting old......retirement toy
Had a chance to look a little closer at the car..... you know digging deep. Impressed it has ACC and different driving modes (not sure if they'll get used), little work to investigate why console light isn't on, but have sorted the rear map lights. Great information on the forum....... now to find what goodies I need to add and then work out how to explain to swmbo!

Part number needed if possible
I managed to fish this out. Guess I'm buying a new light. Even though it wasn't on, it appears to test OK... let's face it is not exactly complicated. Tested on the multi meter and we have continuity through from leg 1 to resistor. Resistor reads correctly, so from pin to one side of led all appears correct. The other side of the cree goes to leg 2 so circuit is complete. Using meter on capacitor test the led does light so again appears unit is working.. So, why isn't it on?? I've read a thread on here stating this should be on all the time, is this correct or has the cat messed up my light?

Thanks, I am now wondering if it's a usb port that has been pushed too hard and has 'disappeared' into the void behind. There is definitely some wiring inside the 'hole'. Can't wait to get my hands on it to play......ATM it's parked up at my Mum's as the Volvo is still on the drive and full of my fuel, so guess what I'm driving hard until it goes back to the company? Seems strange that there may be an additional usb (assuming that's what it is) on the SE but I was surprised to find the car had ACC and full LED headlights so who knows. Car is ex mobility so maybe the last owner added a few extras. Thank for your help.

Possibly a silly question about a spare wheel
Yeah, i'd read that. I'm not unhappy fitting a space saver and that will definitely fit in the boot. The question was whether the 15in would clear the discs.... didn't want to spend of I didn't have to, that's all. Thanks

Possibly a silly question about a spare wheel
So back to the car park with the wheel!!! Thank you @Carlston the knowledge I needed. My friend will look for an alternative.

Possibly a silly question about a spare wheel
I'll arrange an engineers meeting if you like? 15 SE L Octavias to relieve of their bodies. Goodies not bodies

Possibly a silly question about a spare wheel
I know, but that means getting into the shed, finding the trolley jack, and doing stuff...... Busy this weekend, not the best time to buy the car, but will have a look soon if no one has a definitive answer. Very used to modding the odd car although it was 8 years ago I let my Vec C go. God I miss that 1750-3000 rpm kick in the back of that dirty derv..... happy days

Possibly a silly question about a spare wheel
2020 Superb 1.5 DSG.. I may have found an 2016 Octavia steel wheel in our works car park. I may have tried it in the boot to see if it fits.... it does. BUT, whilst the PCD and centre bore are OK and the tyre is about 5% different overall circumference will it work?.. my question is will a 15inch wheel fit over the discs etc? Has anyone tried it? Asking for a friend who didn't save it from the car park. TYIA

I'll have a closer look on the weekend and see if I can fish the cables out but there is just a hole atm. I'm an electrical engineer but trade so quite happy an long as things don't need coding. Cheers for the part numbers.

I have this..... On a different note reading the forum has sorted my rear map lights out. In/out for on/off???? Working now! Just the mystery of the hole!

The car is a 2020 Superb Hatch, SE. The part I'm looking for is a light, I believe. It's not there so I don't know what it should be! At the back of the arm rest box, not the best description, or central console I have a hole. Approx 25mm x 10mm (might be bigger/smaller), I'm going on memory here, should this be a light and if so does anyone have the part number. Many thanks.

Getting old......retirement toy
Hi all. Registered here some time ago but that was a when I hoped for a Superb IV as a company car..... far too long a wait so I got a XC60 PHEV. VERY rapid and actual real world consumption was not at all bad. Fast forward a year, company take over, 85 years work experience for the same company walk out the door......3 people, I'm not that old! Decided to take a work break and semi retire. Needed a car though!! £20 Grand lighter and I now own a June 2020 1.5 SE Hatchback. Genuine mileage, full service history and immaculate. Did I mention under 1250 miles per year? I have questions but I'll use the search before I annoy too many people. Then, it will be a man search, I'll ask them any way! Thanks for reading.
