Time to say goodbye.....
As thread title, it's time for me to say goodbye to Kermit, our Rallye Green Octavia vRS Estate and the forums, and move on. Just bought a 19 plate Focus ST I havent contributed much over the 3 years I've been a member here, but the help and advice has been invaluable during my ownership- who knows I might find my way back in the future. Will probably still linger about the off-topic stuff. Cheers everyone :)

MOT and Service time again
Brake discs were badly corroded on the inner face. Rears are still good for now, just some minor scoring
-
MOT and Service time again
That time of year again for me and Kermit MOT passed with no advisories, and service being carried out too. New pads and discs for the front as front left appears to be warped (been getting a thrum thrum under braking but not feeling it through the pedal)

Dreaded water pump issue
That'll be it, as that's the price my mechanic pretty much quoted, cheers

Dreaded water pump issue
Well maybe not then. Like I already said, he's quoted me a price and outlined what's involved, which he always does for any major jobs he has carried out over the years. I'm not going to get into a dispute about it all on a forum.

Dreaded water pump issue
As I said I trust the guy- he uses TPS who supply genuine Volkswagen group parts to the motor trade. If thats what he says the kit is I am not going to dispute it. I would think this is what he is getting https://www.autopartspro.co.uk/jp-group-12903537

Dreaded water pump issue
I'm not sure if belt or chain. Not the thermostat as he checked all that during the service when I told him about it. He consulted TPS and Skoda who did say the water pump is a known issue, which I believe is well documented here and elsewhere. The water pump kit and ancillaries is about 340 quid. To be honest I really trust the guy as he knows his stuff, and have been going to him for years with no issues with any of his work.

Dreaded water pump issue
He's going to do the whole lot, timing belt as well

Dreaded water pump issue
As above, I have had a bit of coolant leak for a wee while now, needing topped up every 3-4 weeks- Octavia Vrs petrol (2016). Car was in for service and MOT and had said to my mechanic as I knew there was an issue which he knew about as well. Water pump etc needing changed as expected- total cost being just over 600 quid (only 200 labour- he needs to have it a couple days as he works out of his own workshop on a local industrial estate) Dread to think how much a dealer would charge

IPAD Issues
Any Apple guru's in the house? Since last night my daughter has been having issues with her Ipad 7. The screen constantly switches from the Apple logo on white screen to blank and unable to do anything else. I've carried out a soft reset and update and hard reset as well with no change. It was working fine for a while today before reverting back to the same issue. Has anyone came across this before? Any advice gratefully received. I'm not a fan of Apple products tbh, much preferring Android.

Skoda Octavia 3 Owners register
New guy here from Cumbernauld-already said my hellos in Hellos and Goodbyes section. I came from a Mazda 6 2.2 D which I've had for four years into an Octavia VRS Estate Petrol in Rallye Green-named Kermit by my 10 year old daughter . Only had it a few days but absolutely love the car. Previous cars include Mondeo STTDCi and Seat Leon Cupra. Looking forward to joining in here and hoping to get plenty out of the forums.
