  1. Hi fellow karoq owners. Having commented a few times on the subject of kessy, key fobs, and securing my karoq, i can now update you with a little more info. My last visit to the service dept was in January, and as many of you have already stated it was suggested the batteries were the issue. Even though i had fitted new ones b4 taking my car in. Anyway i gave them the benefit of doubt and drove my car away. Now i have recently taken my karoq for its 2nd service. Any issues sir came a question, my reply was yes, locking the car, be sure to have keys in your pocket when working on my car or you may find yourself locked out. Ok thanks for that well take a look. Later that day when i went to collect my car, i was told the drivers door mechanism was faulty and needs replacing (foc of course) . Job now done will see how we go...
  2. Hi fellow frustrated Skoda owners. I finaly ended up taking my Karoq to the dealer to investigate the varied key and Kessey locking issues ive been experiencing. The result of my visit was pretty much what i expected, and what many of you have experienced. The conclusion was that according to the service technician the batteries were at fault. Strange since i put brand new ones in the key fobs b4 handing my car over to them. There argument is that batteries i put in were not genuine and of poor quality ( wonder what Duracell would make of that statement? ) so its back to the user manual and start from scratch and reprogram the fobs i think. Wish me luck??
  3. Personally I'm getting fed up with the Kessey system on my Karoq, almost to the point where i wish id never bought the car. I feel that i cant trust kessey to safely secure the car. I like to know for definite that the car is actually locked by trying to open the doors, but you cant do that with kessey. Also having a key fob thats continually searching is a bonkers idea that just drains the batteries. Appointment made to have mine sorted if possible, will keep you informed of any developments. 🤯
  4. Hi, im still having problems on and off with my skoda karoq, locking itself when it likes, not starting unless i unlock because its locked itself whilst im sat in the driver seat, and so on. Kessy not working properly, locking me out, it goes on. Have you forwarded your comments and finding to Skoda UK for their comments?
  5. You Know, if only Skoda were to modify the design by adding a sliding on off switch to the key, things would be a whole lot simpler and much less stressful. My missus likes our Karoq, but hates the auto locking and unlocking system. It frustrates the hell out of her and boy do i get ear aches when the passengers door refuses to open because of Kessie.
  6. Hi guys, could anyone please explain how to update maps on the 32 gb sd card that came with my 19 plate karog 1.5. Ive tried 3 times and the process freezes at about 45%. Is it possible im trying to download the wrong maps. I was trying to download 2018/9 europe 2020. It seems its not as easy to update as the vid on youtube suggests.
  7. I leave the keyfob in my pocket. Havent been stopped by anyone as yet, thingking im trying to break into the car when i grab a hold on the door handle without the key in the other hand.
  8. I too have replaced the battery with a cr2032 and works fine. Not sure as yet whether it will make a difference in the long run.
