  1. That's the one I bought, works decent but you need the USB dongle for the screw in bit.
  2. Apparently it's not. It was still in the box with the old stereo. Back to the video then.
  3. I'll check that. Its a double USB socket that's in now ands relatively new so shouldn't be an issue. As I say, it worked before the garage got their hands on it lol
  4. It was the one you had quoted earlier from Amazon. My next step is to find out why my cigarette lighter port isn't working anymore. Thinking that the dealer did something when they were fixing the gear lever sensor fault I had
  5. DAB sorted now, cheers. Funnily enough, I went a wee drive through my town, as there are some blackspots, even when I was using the stock radio. The new set up doesn't even drop, better reception than even the original.
  6. Ah OK, that's where I've gone wrong. I'll need to go back out and have a look. I'm sure the black one I had was for USB. Probably mistaken lol.
  7. So, bit of a strange one. Got the fakra cable last night. Fired it into the car today but I'm getting no signal. On you your car @wagster, the cable would go into the double female slot, where the fm aerial goes. Min wouldn't fit, as there are wee fins on the male fakra
  8. Not seen that one. I have notic d when I user Carista, it tells me that it can't communicate with the infotainment system
  9. Sorry, one last question. I'm sure you could write an idiot's guide to this and I'd still mess it up. Is that a female Fakra to Make SMA. Would go out and have a look at the cables behind the glove box but that would mean going outside, and it's cold.
  10. I don't use Spotify, but I experience issues using Amazon Music. On some playlists, it will start fine, then just kicks me out and back to the Amazon Music home screen. I think it might be the curse of the 2GB model as it has random fits where it restarts.
  11. There is plenty of cable included so could mount it wherever tbh. I took from the video that the GPS signal would be weaker, so I've fed the cable behind the glovebox, through the side panel and into the far corner of just under the windscreen. Would be able to hide the cables well enough that way too.
  12. Cheers Wagster, I'll check back in a few weeks see how you got on.
  13. Also having a look at that, I'm sure the 12v power supply goes into my new head unit. A little confused by it.
  14. Yeah, my car already has the standard DAB antenna on the rear window. Would that contraption work with that or is that to enhance the windscreen mounted one I bought.
  15. Apologies, not sure why I said windscreen lol.
  16. Evening all, Just following on from a discussion I was having in another thread and thought I'd put up to general consensus. Hope this is allowed. I have recently changed stereo to an android unit which didn't have DAB. I bought a windscreen mounted aerial and the reception is OK in towns but anywhere in-between it is ropey to say the least. The Octavia built in aerial is I believe in the windscreen and there is a cable for it behind the glove box. Has anyone connected the usb dongle to the built in aerial using a Fakra to SMA cable?
  17. Surely someone on this forum would know best. Will have a look around to see if it's been posted before.
