  1. Looks like it was the quad core, bugger. Not to worry, can still tether my signal from phone etc to get full functionality.
  2. Tbh for the amount I'll use the car, that will probably suffice. As long as I can use android auto, get maps, listen to something that isn't the radio without fiddling with my phone then it should do for me.
  3. Yeah, that was my first thought, that or the starter motor. More than likely being the battery. Had to get them to replace the battery in a few cars in the past. Booked in for Tuesday for that, the dsg issue and the MOT that they said they would have done before I bought the car.
  4. So my pal came round today with his wee carista device and we've got the following codes. The 16401 is incorrect as on VCDS this reads as a tyre pressure monitor.
  5. I don't think it does, I managed to get some on Amazon for around a fiver, I'll find the link. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B079Z9QTHG/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_A3RMJ6RM69BDXKZF1V8R?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 My stereo order is now saying it's left the despatching country. Getting a little giddy lol 😂
  6. Yeah it's a DSG so after a bit of googling I've found the issue. Car only a week in my possession, I can see the dealer dragging their heals over this.
  7. Additionally, I had an error flash up on my screen this mornijg however by the time the initial panic went and I found where the noise came from, the message was disappearing. The only bit I fought from it was 'workshop'
  8. Evening all, I've had my 2015 Octavia for a week now, and have noticed that it doesn't like its first start of the day, engine turns over for a few additional seconds, that feels like a lifetime lol. Other thing that is bugging me is the stop start system. On short journeys it isn't kicking in, which I expect is fair enough given that there isn'tuch time to get the car warmed up etc, but the other was on Sunday. Motorway was jammed and at crawling pace. 3 times the stop start cut the engine and wouldn't restart. It would tick over a couple of times then just stop. Had it in Economy but this shouldn't have been happening, should it?. My thinking is the battery is humped.Either that or the starter motor. Anyone else experienced anything.
  9. That looks pretty straight forward tbh. I think even I could do it lol. What did he do with the blue FM cable though. Looked like he'd just showed you two ends and then chucked them in with the rest of the cables.
  10. Looks like a decent set up, but first question first lol. I saw some reviews saying that there was no install instructions included. How easy is this to install?
  11. Anyone?? @SashaGrace
  12. I've picked up my Octavia 2.0 TDI and I have a product ID for the stereo. This is 5E0035842A Think it's meant to be a Bolero but not sure lol. I have a very little budget, and I'm looking to get an Android Auto compatible unit. Would I need to have one of the Skoda units or could I say, buy a Sony or a Kenwood and alter space behind the head unit to fit it?
  13. Oh lol. That's that idea out the window then.
  14. How much did all this cost you? I'm waiting to pick up a 2015 Octavia, with what I believe to be the Bolero radio. I need to upgrade it to an android Auto compatible device however I have next to no budget lol
  15. Possibly, I'll need to dig out the paperwork. Car is a 16 plate with 30k miles on it when I bought it in Jan. Tyres were manufactured in 2015 so it's not entirely outrageous to suggest they may have been on since purchase, although having the tyres last more than the 30k, I'm not too sure.
  16. Cheers for all the responses, been working so hadn't had the chance to go through them. Checked pressures, new tyre, 2.4, front driver, 2.1. Both rear 2.1 The Dunlop tyres on the back from the dealer I'm afraid are older than the car. I should really have checked this when I bought from AC. I'm now suspicious that they are PW tyres, which in my opinion are am absolute No No. Strongly worded email to the dealer I think.
  17. What's the suggested pressures?
  18. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
  19. I usually set my pressure when I'm doing it myself to 2.1
  20. So, on the front, I have a Riken and a Kormoran, both in terms of tread depth are very similar. Riken only on last weekend. Never heard of Kormoran tbh. There is a pair of Dunlop's on the back, tread not ass good as the front but they are probably the better brand. I'll check pressures when it's not torrential.
  21. It's 215/45/16 Pressures I'm not sure, I got the garage to do them all when they replaced my front passenger. (Due to blisters on the wall caused by North Ayrshire's pot hole division)
  22. The one I got replaced the other week is Riken, purchased from McConnechy's. The other one, I'll need to check as it was on when I bought the car. Will need to double-check but I don't think it's a budget.
  23. Hey all, have had my fabia for just over 5 months now, and noticed that is doing like cornering in the wet. I know the car is lighter than my Seat Leon but it seems to have next to no front end grip in the wet. Tyres are fine as they still have plenty of grip left in them. Yesterday I lost it on a relatively straight forward corner at 45mph and nearly faceplanted into an oncoming Ford Focus. Thankfully I managed to catch it in time to get out of it but it's certainly made me question the reliability of the handling. How does everyone else find theirs. Is this common, or is it possibly an issue with my car.
