Removing control arm on automatic - no space?
Couldn't quite get the ratchets in a good enough spot to crank down, any chance you have a pic of how you had them hooked up? I'm being beaten by a fabia 😠haha

Removing control arm on automatic - no space?
Haha quick replies, ended up loosening the engine mount and jacking it up, worked like a charm. Probably didn't need to undo the mount but suspension creeked when i gently jacked up so didn't want to take any chances. 😞 Yeah, in fairness the front bushing was split when I got it out, didn't buy the console bushing nor have tools for it, did try to find a P/N through ETKA but I could only find the entire unit. Know what to do now so round two won't take an embarrassing amount of time Thanks chaps

Removing control arm on automatic - no space?
Afternoon chaps Trying to replace the bushings in the control arm to get through MOT The car is a 2001 1.4 16v Auto I've unbolted the control arm but I have no space between the last few cm of the bolt and the auto transmissions oil sump. Only thing I can think of to get it out is by dumping the oil and removing the sump which I really don't want to do. The picture is a bit misleading, the hex bolt head is catching on the pan, not just the flared bit, I could cut it but I wouldn't be able to reinstall anyway. p.s all the oil everywhere is from the power steering, self lubricating chassis?

Electric wing mirror retrofit
Afternoon chaps Oldie wiped out my drivers wing mirror today, thinking about retrofitting electric mirrors instead of the manual ones. Mirror switch looks to use the same hole as the manual adjuster. Curious if anyone's done it? Seems to just be power and a few wires to the other side?

Brake line adapters
Happy friday gents Weekend work lined up Outer holes need expanding by ~ 0.6mm or so, inner holes need threading. Will be threading a 8mm stud and tack welding it in (my glorious inability to weld will be shown), then the new electronic brake booster will be installed finally! Ended up making this adapter work for converting new bosch to old and vice versa, new to old probably won't fit through the center though. Not sure how many kw the brake booster sucks away but my lump will be unnoticeably faster!

ABS warning light.
Self check happens in the first few hundred meters of driving or so, if it didn't come back you're good.

Brake line adapters
Boredom kicked in from waiting for the 1/4" adapters from china, ordered a mk7 master cylinder hoping it'd be 3/16", it's not. New strategy: had a friend design a bracket to convert the new brake boosters mount for the master cylinder to the felicias master cylinder. That will also let me keep my brake lines stock and the braking system running at it's designed forces. Just waiting on confirmation from the fabricator, getting this made up cost less than what I've spent on testing other solutions + brake tools! Future is now and all I guess. 3D printed test uploaded, just waiting on the parts to arrive, will tack weld studs into the piece, good to go. Original booster, checking fitment New booster, all together

How to delete old phone users, or reset whole maxidot
Media features in the maxidot are just forwarding commands to the radio, go into the radio settings and clear them. The factory reset you're doing probably resets consumption, units, and winter tyres.

Brake line adapters

Brake line adapters
Hero! The picture on wrightsautosupplies doesn't look like an adapter to me (an untrained eye), however a quick look on their site shows this: https://www.wrightsautosupplies.co.uk/product/m12-female-3-16-or-14-pipe/ Thanks for the help!

Brake line adapters
Hiya chaps Swapping out my brake booster for something electronically controllable, I need to convert 1/4" to 3/16" to fit with the rest of the Felicia's brake system, these seemingly don't exist. Felicia has 4 outlets on it's existing master cylinder in 3/16th, one I'm installing has two in 1/4", so need to T off the line and convert it to 3/16". Anyone know where I can get parts? Either an adapter to (male) 1/4" to 3/16" (m/f), or a T with a 1/4" and two 3/16". re. swap, will post a write up once I'm done with more information.

Toledo/Rapid Head Unit Swap
It just wont show your current media or direction if your unit had nav. You'll just have a few less menus when you press down, MIB2 retrofits literally just show "Android Auto" on media anyway so not losing anything by going aftermarket, unless the MFD showing your street and direction is really important to you.

Toledo/Rapid Head Unit Swap
These old radios have a radio code, the radio does something with the instrument cluster and if it's recognized it'll just unlock automatically. Newer ones use component protection which needs hacking or pairing to the car (assuming the cluster supports it). Steering wheel controls work over convenience CAN so you may need one of those "pq canbus boxes" for it to work as expected, I'd personally fit a PQ MIB2 radio and have component protection hacked off (or buy prehacked), it's straight forward for a few radios to hack with just an ethernet adapter and sd cards. MFD stuff is all in the cluster unless its nav/compass/media, then it uses a protocol called BAP between the radio and the cluster.
