  1. That is clear, understandable and I thank you kindly for the info. You are correct, I do not want anything to do with them whatsoever, I have nothing personal against Yeoman's per se, it is more the staff and their attitudes as most were kept on. However, I am not happy with being harassed (4 times now) via third parties to sell my car to Yeoman's, and Yeoman's instigated this without consent. I feel that is an unacceptable way for a dealership that means nothing to me, to conduct their business. I ripped them a third one earlier via email but have not received their reply yet. I am interested in what they have yo say about it. Thank you again buddy, much appreciated.
  2. Thank you PD. I have never had dealings with Yeoman's as they are an Audi dealership some miles away. I had no idea they had bought out Truscott's because they hadn't told me. After the terrible experiences I had during my first year of Skoda ownership, I swore never to set foot on that site ever again. I did say this to Yeoman's yesterday as well as asking for my data to be removed from their computer systems. To which he replied "This isn't Helston garages anymore". I asked f it was the same sales staff and mechanic and he said yes....... There is no chance of me ever going back. I do not think that Yeoman's could pass my data to whoever they want without an OK from me.
  3. Thanks for your insight. So it is fine for Yeoman's to pass my data to marketing companies so that I can be written to and texted. Better if Yeoman's had written to me and introduced themselves and asked first. I am glad that Coca Cola didn't buy out Truscotts as their marketing budget is huge..... I would be texted and written to forever more.
  4. Hi all Got a rather odd question perhaps...... I wondered if anyone else is experiencing this and is it ok? I purchased my Superb a few years ago and I am still very happy with it. Today I received another Text message and a letter through the post from Yeoman's. This dealership bought out Helston garages including Truscott's where I bought my Skoda. They want to buy my car from me and help me to buy a new or newer car from them. I phoned them on the number that they supplied and spoke to someone about this. My first question was about them owning and using my personal data without my knowledge. It was explained to me that 'they' bought the company as a going concern - the debts, the data, everything. I told him that I never gave my permission for my data to be sold to them. He said that I must have signed something when I bought my car..... I don't think I did and have looked though all the paperwork that came with the purchase and I have not signed to expressly allow my personal data to be sold. At the moment, this looks like a huge data breach and believe it is in contravention of the data protection act....... Can anyone please advise? Thanks in advance Benjum
  5. SE Exec maybe? 150hp with no spare wheel......
  6. It will be a riveting mini novel of my life buddy. The story of a Cornish lad with plenty of drama, heroism, loves lost and found, service to Queen and Country........ A best seller I'm sure! I best get started with the first draft
  7. This is a truly absurd situation to me...... Why have an aux port and jack socket and you can't use it? Smartlinks and spotify ....... I've heard of them but that's about it. I restore tractors, tinker with machinery and can do some stuff on my laptop....... Am I the only one in the world?
  8. Hmmmm, I'm totally lost with the names, software, hardware, upgrades and all that jazz. I wouldn't know what to do or how to do it either. I do know that it would never work again if I tried. Maybe Halfords or someone similar could make it happen for me
  9. Just had mine serviced with a full inspection by the garage who serviced my previous car (Passat) for the last 10 years. Stuff Truscotts! The oil filter the dealership fitted on the last service was loose and leaking down onto the splash guard - Lucky it didn't blow off! The splash guard fixings had previously been well over tightened and threads stripped. Why go to the dealership ever again. Truscotts refused to service it but only after I'd paid for it, only told this on collection day. I get a full report each time, Truscotts wouldn't even switch the service interval to the longer interval for me.... All done now though Sod 'em I say.
  10. Is Juke box an app or something? I left my brain behind in the early nineties.....
  11. That's a bummer So, it is back to the swinging sixties where you take a portable player everywhere you go then.
  12. Hello all For the second time since ownership, the touch screen display isn't there when starting up. It still tunes into the radio station which is Union Jack Dance - What a station! But I am of that age I suppose........ Rave on!! The volume still works but there is only a dull glow along the top of the screen. If the car is locked and left for a while, the screen returns. Is this a common glitch or does it need repair/replacing? I hope not to the latter because the dealership are idiots and it would be a fight to get the work done. The second query regards a CD player. My dad owns a 15 plate Yeti which he believes has a multi disc CD player somewhere in the back. He has never used it so isn't entirely sure. Can this be transplanted into my Superb? I have read the posts on here regarding the music system and I'm the guy with the record player on the passenger seat lol. I don't own an SD card nor the means to put my over 300 CDs onto one. I don't have the time or interest to invest in doing so either. The 'black slotty thing' in the glove box is a waste of space to me I want to rip it out...... Many thanks in advance, Benjum.
  13. If other Skoda dealerships are as bad as the one I bought my 67 Superb from, the brand is doomed! Soooo badly treated. To them, the customer's experience is unimportant.
