  1. Have identified mine definitely has a problem which is likely why mine is so low, mot emissions failure first time, misfire on cylinder 3, hi ho hi ho it’s off to Skoda we go 🤪🤪🤪
  2. If you need to,pull away quick on a DSG then slide it into manual briefly until you are out of the junction or moving, or stick her in sport
  3. Ok by way of an update, car took 2 goes to get through mot today on emissions. So I had diagnostic done at garage: u112300 can comps, intermittent P0475 exhaust pressure control valve a - intermittent P0568 cruise set signal malfunction - intermittent P0303 Cyl 3 misfire - intermittent P0363 Misfire detected furling disabled - intermittent still under warranty so can go to Skoda, only 30k mileage but due an oil service in 1000 miles. Wondered if the plugs are knackered from all the short journeys. Assume I can change these myself as spark plugs won’t be warrantied, anybody know what the interval is supposed to be. any other suggestions greatly appreciated but could account for poor economy
  4. Mine took about 8k to loosen, but yes my mpg was also higher over the weekend but mine may have been due to using sport around town
  5. Gonna try the sport mode and see what that does, even if it doesn’t make a difference it will definitely be more fun 😎 thanks everybody for all the advice, it’s been really helpful and if nothing else has made me think hard about what to do. My 4 year pcp runs until next March so I don’t have to rush and have the funds to cover the final payment if I decide to buy new and have to wait for delivery.
  6. nearly 3 years 30000 miles and yep it’s Luton so pretty big hills
  7. It’s 2wd and I Drive like a granny 🤔 it’s purely to much time spent in town traffic on short journeys, she’s just a beast to get moving I think.
  8. 26 is my long term combined over 1300 miles, before that it was 27 over I think it was about 4000 miles. This is my combined number short journeys on the computer tend to register 18 to 22. This includes a trip to the new Forest and one to Loughborough both about 100m e/w We use about 60 quid a week in winter in juice and yes 250 miles for a week in winter is about right on average. We do about 300 to 350 a week in Summer due to athletics comps and yes it will be higher but I have never seen the long term out of the 20’s.
  9. I had a Citroen Spacetourer before this it was a 1.5hdi and used to around 50mpg on the combined and over 40 around town which was pretty much on quoted numbers so forgive me if I expected to be a little closer to what was claimed in this one. I didn’t choose the car based on monthly payments, but obviously it had to be affordable but I did have other options, I chose it because it was roomy inside as we needed 7 adult seats at the time and both me and my son are 6ft 3 and the Citroen was tight in the third row for 7 adults
  10. I do about 14k a year so petrol is over £14k for 4 years ownership at 26mpg average
  11. The Mazda carries over 50kg of throwing equipment (discus and shot) and I drive that a lot less eco than the Kodiaq. I am seriously considering a hybrid
  12. Ouch, that sounds more like my old Ford Cougar 😀
  13. Yes hdi is a diesel. Interesting to hear Karoq is so much better, it has to be the sheer effort of stop starting the bulk of the Kodiaq it’s a huge car for a 1.5 and I get better around town out of my 15 year old 2lt petrol Mazda 5.
  14. As we are all 6footers we needed a big car but even on a run the best mpg in winter is around 42 and as 80% of our driving is being the kids taxi around town we have an average speed of 16mph delivering 26mpg combined. My eco driving as per the car is 93%. Had a Citroen before this 1.5 hdi on same driving profile would go 44 mpg average. Can only put it down to the small engine, big car, fuel to get her moving but we do 15000 per year but 70% of this is round town so that’s around £14k in fuel over 4 years, very scary.
  15. Oops sorry yes misread as 15. so effectively mixing the 0w and the 5w on a short service plan doesn’t really make a diffence. ..... and yes bluey green water and definitely more expensive than 504
