Kamiq Monte Carlo 1.5TSI DSg
I bow to your superior knowledge but my sel is a mix of buttons which are manual and the screen hence the use of the word mix?

Kamiq Monte Carlo 1.5TSI DSg
I’ve got a 1.5 sel which is a good car but doesn’t really suit my needs hence I’m getting rid. One of the most annoying things I’ve ever had in any car is the mix of air conditioning controls between manual and digital/screen. Skoda have obviously had feedback and changed to dials which imo are much more user friendly.

This was the main problem for me , car just sits a bit low plus really struggled to get comfortable setting in the drivers seat. In Sept my dealer offered me a kodiaq Sel which had been built but wasn’t in the country. I took too long to make a decision and someone else reserved it. Now waiting on a new hybrid HRV but if it takes too long and I see Hyundai Tucson’s in stock I might cancel.

Thanks for your thoughts Kodiaqsportsline and a lot of what you say makes sense. However re service intervals, you can see from replies to the topic that there are many contradictory opinions. Even two staff on the same service desk at the dealers disagreed. It really shouldn’t be open to interpretation. I’ve ordered the new Honda HRV hybrid style with service package and this time I made sure I took a test drive. I was very impressed and believe the design, drive and infotainment has significantly improved from the previous model. Of course no car is perfect and the dashboard plastics etc look a bit cheap and not to the same standard as the Kamiq. It’s due to arrive in March so I’ve got the Kamiq for another couple of months.

Raise the seat up😂 Im 5ft 11in maybe not explained correctly Ive come from Crvs and a Karoq and just find that it sits too low for me. I find reversing in particular offers poor visibility im not on to criticise the car particularly I should’ve done my homework more thoroughly I realise I’m in a minority of one here (on a Kamiq forum and with journalists who love the car) Will leave it at that I realise people can get tetchy at even mild criticism of their chosen model

As you say personal choice. Many good things about Kamiq. I’ve not had any creaks and think build quality is great. Also looks good. However I find driver position low seat uncomfortable and pedals offset When you add complicated infotainment, climate controls and sat nav into the mix it makes it hard to live with Hope you continue to enjoy your car

Still honestly don’t know went to and fro between Skoda and Parks who refused to speak to each other and on booking and attending at dealership for service guy on the desk did an about turn and said 24 months Imo it should be 24 months especially on a low mileage car like mine Strangely others take the opposite view and state that it’s low mileage cars that benefit more from servicing after 12 months

Parks and they have been really poor however I’ve had two Hondas and various other makes from Parks over many years without any problems so I might just be unlucky this time Repeatedly asked Skoda and Parks to speak to each other without success

My onboard computer said 24 months as did Skoda only dealer said different Anyway it won’t matter in a couple of months as it’s gone Cant be doing with low seat and ridiculously complicated dash controls

Appreciate your reply and sounds straightforward however I had Skoda telling me one thing and dealer the other As I’ve said went with dealer and went in after 12 months only to be told on arrival a service wasn’t required Now if two people on the same desk in the same dealership can’t agree what chance have you got Anyway tbh I’ve had approximately 30 new cars in my lifetime and have never experienced the lack of support you get with Skoda I might not be going for the right option with the hrv but what I do know is that the Honda support and communication is far superior to skoda

I’ve had my Kamiq for about 14 months and have decided it has to go. I didn’t do my research properly and the main problem I have with it is the low seating position. Also really dislike the mish mash of the infotainment display and even after all this time I find it just too complicated for me. The final straw is the poor dealer/service experience. I made enquiries for weeks regarding when the first service is due with the dealer saying a year and Skoda and the cars onboard computer stating two years. I eventually gave in to the dealer and took my car in for a service whereupon the guy on the desk stated it shouldn’t be serviced because it’s every two years. Normally I would have gave him my wrath but I thought what’s the point. Anyway after looking at various possibilities including the new Hyundai Tucson and Honda CR-V it looks like I’m going for a Honda Hrv hybrid. I like the space and minimalist dashboard with plenty of standard spec. I realise almost everyone loves the Kamiq and like most break ups the problem is me not her.

Kamiq 1.5tsi which gearbox
I’ve seen this topic of wheel spin in our model being raised a few months ago and a fair percentage of owners said they had the same problem. It can happen in any weather/road conditions. I’m a fairly gentle driver and was an emergency response driver for 30 years. I’m not saying this makes me a better driver or anything , I’m just mentioning to give a fuller picture. Any way glad you don’t have the same problem.

Kamiq 1.5tsi which gearbox
I would go for the manual. I have a 1.5 SEL DSG and the wheel spin when picking away is horrendous to the extent that I have to pick away really gently. I don't know if the 18 inch tyres or the DSG box are the problem but it's a pain.

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
Think youve been fortunate. This is what I was hoping for either a pre reg or a car due for delivery soon. As someone else has stated ive been told by a dealership that the hold up is due to a mechanical component part.

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
Really my own fault but I decided to downsize and didnt do my homework. Kamiq sits way to low for me. It has enough space on most journeys however an unexpected addition to the pool of grandchildren makes space tight. I dont like the virtual cockpit and tbh I think the sat nav is hopeless. No matter how light a foot you have there is wheelspin when picking away in the auto. Visibility imo is poor. I generally dont like the dash e.g. Having to use bkth manual controls and the screen is ridiculous. The car looks good, drives well and is solid however this doesnt make up for deficiencies. Hope ive not upset Kamiq owners its probably just personal preference.

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
Bought a Kamiq about a year ago and really don’t like it. Due partly to manufacturers contributions I looked at the Kodiaq. Dealer offered a reasonable deal and while I considered reserving a 1.5 sel DSg which had a due date of January someone nipped in and reserved it before me. Now the only option is a factory order and circa 25 week wait. Anyway what I can’t understand is why manufacturing is so slow and is it the case that car manufacturers in general no longer hold a stock of new cars ?

Kamiq Service Intervals
So variable service is for drivers who do a higher mileage while drivers like myself who do 6 to 8 thousand a year should be on a yearly plan. Now Iam more confused than before . I'm just going to tap out now because after giving my circumstances I was looking for a straight answer with reasoning on wether the car should be on fixed or variable. Thanks for those who have tried to help this dummy .

Kamiq Service Intervals
I hear what your saying but why would I want to service my car after one year that has done 5000 miles when Skoda uk (who I have contacted twice) advise me against this? In fact Skoda have now told me to ignore emails from the dealership and state they will now contact them to put them right on service intervals. Genuine question I dont really understand where the dealership and yourself are coming from. Would appreciate it if you took the time to explain because as someone who has owned in excess of twenty cars over the years and never missed a service, I want to do the right thing.

Kamiq Service Intervals
Thanks for the helpful replies. First of all my original post was inaccurate in that Skoda have told me from the start that the first service is after two years or 18500 miles. However Skoda are refusing to contact Parks re this who in turn refuse to contact Skoda. Anyway as per advice ive checked service settings on the car display which is in line with Skoda in that it states inspection due in 14200 miles or 386 days and oil change service in 13800 miles or 371 days. As my car has done under 5000 miles it appears that Skoda are correct in this instance however I think this will be my last Skoda due to the general lack of assistance.

Kamiq Service Intervals
I stay in Uk and have a 70 plate Kamiq and am having real problems with my ?ocal dealer re service intervals. Mycar is approaching a year old and my dealer Parks of Hamilton have given three different answers re the first service. Initially they stated it was six months changed their answer to two years and are now saying it should be yearly. I contacted Skoda who are adamant its yearly. can anyone assist with a definintive answer.

Sat Nav
Bought a new Kamiq SEL in Sept 2020. Due to Covid and other factors I havent been driving much and havent used the Sat Nav till this week when I didnt find it user friendly. When travelling to an unfimiliar destination it sent me a very circuitous route both there and back. Can anyone tell me wether I have missed a dealers upgrade or give any tips for easy usage.

Kamiq Is It For You
Glad to see the topic I started some months ago has engendered so much debate. Just a quick update re the initial post, I have by and large learned to live with all of the problems. The searching for a gear and metallic grinding noise did not return. I now switch off lane assist at the start of every journey. The front assist no longer operates the brakes for no reason since I've set it to LATE. I still don't think visibility is great however I again live with it. As for the recent posts on tyres and lack of grip , I must admit most of the technical stuff goes over my head, however I very much doubt that the tyres are the reason for the wheel spin as I've experienced this in warm dry weather. In conclusion I'm going to keep the car for a couple of years for financial reasons but doubt very much that I would buy another Kamiq.

Becoming a new owner of the Kamiq
Yeah think that’s it I was in a large dealership in Lanarkshire and there were 20/30 new Skodas of various models and that was the one that stood out above everything . It’s the kind of car which will punch above its weight and look good in comparison to Audi Land Rover etc only thing I would say is I downsized from Honda CR-V to karoq and then Kamiq and struggled a bit with rear vision however you’ve got top of the range with standard cameras So won’t be a problem

Becoming a new owner of the Kamiq
Honestly wouldn’t consider the colour in base model but for whatever reason it looks amazing in Monte Carlo

Becoming a new owner of the Kamiq
I bought a1.5 de dsg race blue and much as I like it when I picked it up I saw exactly the same car that you have ordered and it looked stunning. If I could have I would have swapped there and then and paid the extra. The only thing I would say is make sure u don’t kerb those alloys because they look fragile. Enjoy
