  1. Normal Kamiqs have room for visual improvements, but, could the Monte Carlo look any cooler with a facelift? 😎 Just asking 🤣
  2. Thank you, I will have a play tomorrow. Only had it a year 😂
  3. Hi, When night driving I find my display (Amundsen) can be tiring on occasion and I enjoy the dark screen of the analogue clock when it is switched off. Is there anyway to switch the display off to a dark screen or clock screensaver but still listen to the radio? I know ‘RTFM’ but I can’t work it out. Thanks in advance.
  4. Chose the one with the quickest delivery time. Both are great cars and each has a slightly different offering.
  5. Only on trust, it’s a decent brand and anything must be better than the crap Skoda fits.
  6. Badly corroded, though according to the dealer within tolerance. The dealer suggested and I agreed that they should be replaced elsewhere as the dealer supplied part will also corrode far too quickly. I’ll be shortly buying a set of Brembo from ECP.
  7. Last 😂 I’ve had 85k out of a 2015 i30 and 70k out of a 2014 Leon. Less than 9k out of a Kamiq within the same parameters.
  8. This post is spot on, Bravo! I don’t understand all the moans and groans about services that will be found in every new car bought today. Lane control, no, it’s not dangerous, update your driving skills or switch it off with two button presses, hardly a hardship, it’s going to be in every new car you buy from now on. Warning alarms, good luck finding a new car that doesn’t have them. Progression whether you like it or not is like a fast flowing river, either stand on the side and get left behind or jump in and go with the flow. Wheels, if you chose the Monte Carlo you chose it for looks, why would you want to spoil it by sticking downmarket or third party wheels on it, but if it bugs you that much budget for it and do it. Seat height, if it isn’t tall enough move on and find a different model, they ain’t going to change it for you and the Kamiq is the smallest of three SUV’s in Skodas range, buy a bigger one. The areas that let the MC down in my opinion are lack of climate control as a standard option, weedy AC in the summer and shockingly bad rear discs. The latter is a cheap fix so no big deal, the first two are slight annoyances that only manifest themselves after purchase. I enjoy my car, it’s certainly a million times better than my first car, a Volvo 340 which didn’t beep, pull or have AC. The Kamiq is a winner in my book.
  9. I have a 71 plate and the air con is rubbish to the point I’m considering taking it into the dealers. I’ve had cars where you can see your breath, this car does not do that.
  10. We’ve just covered short of 1000 miles in our 1.5 DSG Monte Carlo on a Scottish Road Trip, setting off from Devon. Half way around and this is without doubt the most comfortable and easy car I’ve had to drive, the trip has been an absolute pleasure. Fuel economy is starting to improve nicely as well, it was shockingly bad on hand over from the dealer, but now getting just short of 50mpg and improving all the time.
  11. No photo, but I have a Nextbase up tight under the left hand side of the rear view mirror. The cable is routed under the roof trim, down the pillar and hard wired via a piggy back fuse into the fuse box on the drivers side with access gained via a small side panel normally hidden when the door is closed. The wire is hardly visible via this route, though be careful with the spring fittings on the panel you have to remove, they can easily drop into the void. You will need a mini blade piggy back fuse and if I remember correctly you use the fuse for rear wipers, the number is easily found with a goggle search.
  12. In 2022 that looks bloody rubbish, it just cheapens the model. 🙄
  13. Good choice 😊 I love mine and I think the clean cold white and contrasting black is pretty eye catching.
  14. “What did your car cost when you bought it?” Far less than that, and THEN take off the 2k dealer contribution for buying new, and a healthy Carwow discount!
