  1. I went to change the pollen filter on mine, and i discovered the damper was removed already, so i didnt have to worry about it, 2 minute job. Not really bothered about the damper so will just leave as is.
  2. Hi folks, wondering if there is an update for my rig. Thanks for any info.
  3. Yeah i know but i keep forgetting and the dam engine shuts off when i least expect it. Drives me mad.
  4. Anther thing i have read is that if you switch the engine off during a regeneration, it can dump fuel into engine oil, thus contamination. Something to keep in mind. If you park up and notice that the rpm doesn't drop, stays at 1000, chances are its doing a regen. Just leave your engine on for a while if you can so it can finish, or drive on so it can finish properly.
  5. I've read there is a way to disable the start stop, by fooling the cpu into thinking the battery isnt charged enough. So even if it is enabled, it wont function and it stays like that until you change it again. Seen it on here somewhere, using obdeleven.
  6. I like the shifting in ECO mode, changes up nicely around 17-1800, but the coasting function is truly awful and i believe completely unnecessary. I do like to drive with engine braking quite alot, and the way it coasts in this mode is not good at all. In my other driving modes it doesn't do that thankfully so normal mode is where i keep the car now. I'm looking into using the obd to disable coasting from the eco program, i think it's simple enough done if you have the right app. That and disabling the start stop nonsense is what i would like to do.
  7. Sorry to dig this one up, but i'm interested in turning this coast function off in eco drive mode as it's fine apart from that. The OP mentions 'long coding' is that an option available to the stock version of obdeleven or is it a paid tier?
  8. Hi, just to update this. It was a wheel bearing, driver side front. Car sounds as it should now. Replaced under dealer warranty.
  9. Hi all, just got a 2019 Octavia 1.6 DSG last Friday. Lovely car, but i have become aware of a droning sound while driving, it seems to appear when at 38-45mph, and 55-65ish. Really noticeable. Don't think it's the tires, engine or gears. Leaning towards a wheel bearing perhaps, anyone have experience of a similar issue?
  10. Thanks yes no dpf fitted to this car thankfully. Just as a side note, what oil for the jcr gear box? I’m taking the car in for inspection to my mechanic and I think I’ll get him to change out the oil while it’s there. I’m reading 85w/90 should be fine... ?
  11. Yeah that’s what I was thinking, it’s been 4 years since the belt was replaced and it’s over the 40K now so I’ll probably have to get it replaced soon, I had a bora pd for 12 years and it got to over 250k, and never really had any engine issues whatsoever but it was a 6 speed and this one drives well enough but man do I miss that sixth gear as it’s a little loud at 60mph. Over that speed and around 65-70 the whole car starts shaking but not through the steering which is a little worrying. What oil does the pd need? My research gives me 504-507 spec, or 505.01? 5w40.
  12. Hi all, first post. Bought a 2010 superb 2 weeks ago and generally very happy with it. I didn't notice at the time it was only a 5 speed, silly i know. It drives well enough but at around 60mph its sitting around 2000rpm. Is that ok? The timing belt was changed in 2016 around 47K, and its done 84K now, would i need to look at changing that again? The last service was 3K miles ago, it's a 77KW BXE PD engine. Thanks for any replies.
