  1. I will be doing this soon, passenger side is smooth, drivers side skips across the screen.
  2. So it turns out its not a peel-able film just a dark line that runs around the outer edge of the mirror which must be to do with anti glare as has been mentioned. I will get a chance to clean the car soon, it's probably covered in some silica from the factory as the water beading is very small beads hence poor visibility from the window and the mirror. Thanks Steven.
  3. Only had the Karoq a few days but tonight when I was driving home in the dark whilst it was raining I could hardly see out of side mirrors due to rain drops kind of sticking everywhere. The mirrors themselves look like they have a sheet of peelable plastic on them. I'm assuming this should have been peeled off before hand over or should it remain on?
  4. That's a shame, it would have been really nice to have that there. I can kind of understand why they don't do it, you have to really trust your dashcam not to overheat and set your car on fire.
  5. Yeah just got back in and tried again and managed to get past the loading screen and onto the fob presses which is now all done and the app is working all bar the lock unlock feature. Just need to go and register with my local dealer as my service partner then get them to enable this option, happy days
  6. OK so I got a step further this morning. I managed to get it to sync my profile so it now knows who I am. Also when trying to become the primary it got to the point of asking me to hold down a button on the keyfob. Sadly I didn't have all the fobs on me at the time as I was fitting my dashcam so I locked the car to go inside to get all the fobs. Since then I cannot get back to that stage, it sits at a loading screen. I tried deleting the profile and adding me again but same thing happened. I will just let it cook a for a bit longer and try again this afternoon maybe its downloading something. As for the USB in the rear view mirror option, sadly it doesn't seem to be a permanent live (unless you can switch it in the infotainment somewhere?). Modern dash cams have parking modes but require a permanent live and rely on lack of movement to detect when it should switch to parking mode. Android Auto is really aggressive with Wi-Fi control, not sure if this is the car or the phone but when I'm sat in the car and I want to connect to the dash cam Wi-Fi after about 5 seconds it forces the phone to switch back to the car. Even if I tell it to 'dont autoswitch' it does anyway lol.
  7. Took delivery of my new Karoq a few days ago (MY21). Lovely car but a few initial observations Surprised to find out I don't need a cable for Android Auto (Samsung Galaxy S10+) so I just put the phone on the wireless charging pad. Still no joy getting a user profile setup and Skoda Connect activated. I have a Skoda account I setup online via my PC and I've logged in the app on the phone with this account, entered the VIN, the app instructs to go into the car will all the keys and go through the 'become a primary user'. If I enter the login details and press login it says it can't load the profile, if I click register it gets stuck at the Activating screen. Went out for it's first drive today and randomly a message popped up on my screen saying the SOS was activated. I took this as it had been pressed somehow so I pressed it to hopefully cancel but no police or ambulances turned up so it must have just become available lol, it also now has a green light next to it. Start stop also started to work. I didn't realize the keys also store some 'profile' info. I was sat in the car, moved the drivers seat into my position, locked and unlocked the car but must have used a different fob (I have 3), and the drivers seat moved back to its default position with me on it. Will try to fit my dashcam tomorrow, does anybody know the best route to run a cable from front to back as I have a rear cam as well? Is there anything specific about running the car in, I'm just driving gently at the moment but it's a DSG so it kind of does it's own thing?
