MY21/Infotainment/Skoda Connect issues
Thanks Stephen, its good to know that at least one other owner has experienced the same issue. Like you I found that Android Auto would still work on the most recent occasion although on the 11th August nothing would work as it was just stuck trying to load my user profile (I needed to find the equivalent of ctrl-alt-delete to unfreeze it!). Anyway I will take your advice and re-post it as a new item.

MY21/Infotainment/Skoda Connect issues
I shouldn't have said anything about my last 10 months with no problems with the Karoq "connected" infotainment. Because on the first of August while driving on Hayling Island there was a ping and a rather alarming SOS message appeared see below. message on the Seeing the word Workshop! I thought it was something serious with the car, I did eventually realise that it wasn't and I looked up by the rear view mirror and the green light was off and so was the skoda connect "world" symbol no longer on the screen. I suspected that perhaps we were in a cellphone deadspot so wasn't too concerned. Anyway it stayed like this until I reached the Premier inn in Havant, but was back to normal next morning. However a bit later that day on the M27 near Southampton it did it again. On both occasions it did not reconnect on its own but only after the car had been left locked for a while. Since then it has done it several more times, and I now realise that other aspects of Skoda Connect are affected Going clockwise on M25 near Clacket lane on 11th August the message pinged again and this time the navigation went off and the screen just displayed the usual loading navigation message but for about 20miles, eventually the screen blanked and then navigation came back. However returning later that day anti clockwise I pulled into Clacket Lane with the system working OK but when I started the car to leave there was again a ping with the SOS message but this time the whole system froze as it was unable to load my user profile, so I had to drive home to Essex with no infotainment at all not even the radio as nothing would work (I did try switching off, locking doors etc. but nothing helped). And it did it again yesterday with my wife driving just as she was about to re-join the M25 clockwise after a stop at South Mimms. This time the navigation, radio and Spotify were not affected or so we thought. We didn't really need the naivigation but its useful in case of congestion or diversions but as we neared our home it repeatedly tried to re-caculate the route and looking at the map I could see that it thought we were a few miles away from where we actually were, so the GPS was also affected in some way. Has this happened to anyone else?, or has anyone heard of anything similar. I did allow a software update to install about 6 weeks ago so I rather suspect that but there doesn't seem to be an option to revert back. Also I'm reluctant to do a factory re-set as It was a painful process to set-up Skoda Connect when I took delivery in September. I wish I still had my Yeti!!

MY21/Infotainment/Skoda Connect issues
I'm not surprised that this thread is still running (I first contributed a question October 2020) as the current Skoda infotainment system certainly isn't user friendly. However, after my initial problems setting up and after a bit of help from Bristo's Skoda, I'm pleased to say that I haven't had any further problems. This is partly I suspect because I'm content with what I've got; I have never been able to access the shop or get anything on internet radio but I don't really need either of them. I do use the Skoda Navigation regularly plus Spotify via Android Auto. I did try navigation using Google Maps via Android Auto and I was surprised that the small centre display still gives turn messages, however the audio directions were all broken up probably because I was running Spotify at the same time!! I still find entering new destinations difficult at times but I heard a rumour that VAG were going to issue an update to use What Three Words has anyone else heard this?

MY21/Infotainment/Skoda Connect issues
Hi Chris, All dealers are not quite as bad as yours. Like you, I had to get my dealer to authorise the lock etc. functions but they didn't need me to visit, they were happy to do it remotely. I think they already had a scan of my licence from my purchase file and it was all set up for me by the service dept in less than 24 hours. However like you I have missing logos from stations you would expect to have one, and no internet radio - not that that bothers me much. Rod

Karoq Adaptive LED lights
Thank you all for your replies, I am much better informed now! I don't have any complaint with my Karoq's lights they are good and yes there is a relatively wide spread in narrow lanes of which I have plenty close to home. But it just goes to show that I should try to find out more about a car before I buy it! I was buying a similar trim level car to my Yeti (SEL), and the word "adaptive" was in the brochure so I assumed that it was a similar system just updated with LEDs as the light source not Xenons. I did know that the Karoq was going to be very different to the Yeti but I must admit it is more different in a lot of respects than I anticipated. Rod

Karoq Adaptive LED lights
I haven't seen a tread on this particular topic among the various MY21 discussions. I replaced my SEL Drive Yeti with a Karoq SEL about 7 weeks ago but due to the various restrictions I haven't used it much at night. However I have done so yesterday and today (including a trip back from a relative in hospital..) and I began to consider how the Adaptive LEDs on the Karoq compare to the Adaptive Bi-Xenon lights I had on my Yeti. I even conducted some deliberate tests on my way home this evening and my conclusion is that I don't have any adaptive action, merely that the fog lights come on on either side when cornering (my SEL Yeti did that too). With the Yeti the cornering effect as the bi-Xenon units swiveled from side to side was very good but if my Karoq is supposed to have a similar function then it is very subtle indeed. On switch-on the Yeti system did a little "dance" up/down and side to side, my Karoq does this too although significantly only up and down. Is this another MY21 bit of cost cutting or do I have a fault with my car?

MY21/Infotainment/Skoda Connect issues
Hi Alex, Rob, I must admit I didn't realise that I could get web radio via the e-sim, I did try it and I'm pretty sure it said I needed to connect via Wi-fi but I spent so long going round in circles trying to access the "shop" and being told I wasn't the primary user when the welcome screen said I was! that my memory isn't that good! My dealer (in Ipswich) was really good at enabling the app though but they are too far away from yourselves to help. But I still need to discuss with them a solution to sort out my unwanted almost full size spare wheel. I have tried Android Auto and that works OK although I personally find the built in sat nav is better than Google maps if only because Google maps don't completely fill the screen, in all other respects I think my "Connect" is working OK so I will try web radio tomorrow - I might find it works but I won't hold my breath.. I'm not the best person to respond as my Karoq is petrol but from what I have read the 1.6 diesels are only available from dealer stock so I would imagine you will get a 2.0 litre with the same power.

Skoda Connect not working
I'm a Karoq newbie to Briskoda but I think MY21 Karoq's have pretty much the same infotainment and Skoda Connect setup as the New Octavia. I joined Briskoda partly to find help with the infotainment and there are some useful threads now on the Karoq pages. I agree that you cannot really give up on Skoda Connect especially if you have navigation as it provides map updates and live traffic so pretty useful even essential. I did have several frustrating days trying to set up mine especially letting me become the primary user and an email to customer services has never been answered. However I think I have got the basics working now OK and my dealer was helpful activating the app. My password starts with a lower case letter but I haven't had any problems with that. I do get prompted for my s-pin sometimes and get messages about privacy setting but I think I understand how to minimise those now.

MY21/Infotainment/Skoda Connect issues
As far as I can tell my Connect / infotainment is working as it should. I seem to get a message every day telling me that I'm sharing my data and is that OK? I click OK as any of the other privacy options just result in most of the useful features turning off. Also I think I now understand two other messages: One tells me that my profile is not protected by the S-pin, so I have followed the instruction and enabled the protection. This then seems to require me to enter the S-pin when I switch on the infotainment, (which is not a good idea when driving). So I enter the S-pin and tick the remember S-pin box and I don't get prompted again. However, when I switch off ignition it then once again says "profile is not protected by S-pin". My conclusion is that you can only have one or the other?

Build Week 40
I don't know how often Skoda revise brochures but I started looking with the 15th June one (attached) and it doesn't mention the USB by the mirror, I guess there were further issues in August but I didn't download any more until my car was due and I had heard about other MY21 changes. Anyway I have spoken to my dealer and they are going to hardwire my dashcam for a very reasonable charge. SKODA_KAROQ_Brochure_15SEP2020.890a806771a40d95647a69f6d698799f.pdf

You are both correct sadly, although I had a short wait for my car it was a dealer stock order (thus qualifying for the finance offer for "stock" vehicles up to end of Sept.), also the USB C on the rear view mirror wasn't listed as an option on the 16th June brochure, it was only added with other MY21 changes when the brochure was re issued 15th Sept. My car was in transit by then. It's a really useful option and should be standard.

Nice indeed Alex, You have almost done more miles already in your 1.5 SEL than I have in mine after a week and a half. You have done well to get Skoda Connect up so quickly although it was the first bit that I managed. I have also got the infotainment pretty well sorted now although it was only yesterday that I managed to delete an unwanted destination from the favourites list. If you haven't done already you might find it useful to download the manual on your phone as it contains a lot more stuff on the infotainment. I was surprised that the navigation on its default settings did not display the speed limit for the current road or other info. Mine does now but I had to enable them - i now have a gentle speed limit exceed warning too. The problem that I'm left with is how to power my dash cam neatly, I had it running off the USB in my Yeti, but getting a cable neatly to the USBs in the Karoq isn't so easy. Also I'm going to see if I can work something out with my dealer to swap my almost full size spare with its kit to the space saver spare so I can recover the 10 cm depth it has taken up in the boot! Build Week 40
My wife managed to input a post code simply by typing one in the destination search and the system recognised it but I haven't tried that. I have not found the dropdown sub menu like we had in our Yetis! I have managed to get "Home" saved twice as a favourite and I cannot see how to delete one of them. Its all totally different to Yeti and I'm still on the learning curve.
