New SE L boot rattle
Well, I've tried every test possible today, much to the ridicule from my good lady lol!! I've removed retractable boot cover, folded all rear seats down, seat belts in all combinations, and even removed usual tools next to the spare wheel!! Alas, still quite audible (to me anyway)!! Even put a weighty object in the boot, make sure it's not just a noise resonating from the spare wheel itself for example!! :( Always over bad road of course, nothing when over good surfaces!! Just sounds like there's something metallic loose boot area or below!? Is it at all possible for rear suspension to rattle, ie. be loose, or any other usual culprits under the car? Many thanks Andrew

New SE L boot rattle
Many thanks All for your responses! Sure enough, your photos represent all currently in the boot! I checked to make sure the wheel was securely clamped down, and even managed to tighten up that 'top hat'! Went for a couple of local drives today, and thh the metal clanging wasn't quite as apparent! Yes, still a noise from the boot area when I go over bad surfaces, but that's with the Infotainment system totally muted lol, not something I'd actually do in the real world normally.. I normally only use my car anyway when I'm going golfing, so normally plenty of weight in the boot, so hopefully that will balance out any boot banging!? Probably doesn't help though that I've got those bloody 19" wheels, grrrr!! Might try removing the retractable parcel shelf tomorrow just to rule that out lol!!!

New SE L boot rattle
Hmmm, interesting you should say that! I did actually check that earlier, and was met with what I can only class as a large screw lol! I twisted it and it then met no resistance, so twisted it again and, with a very small amount of pressure, met no resistance once more! In other words, I couldn't tighten said large screw at all really! Is it supposed to be screwed down quite tightly? As I mentioned above, I don't think I can twist more than say 90 degrees before it's loose again, probably even less than that, and certainly not what I would call tight..

New SE L boot rattle
Good evening All, had my Karoq SE L for just over 2 weeks now, very much enjoying it thus far in the massive 120 miles I've done lol!! Anyway, forgive me plse for mentioning that damned word, rattle! In short, when driving over uneven surfaces, and bumps, etc (most UK roads), I've picked up on what I believe is a metal noise emanating from in or around the boot! Being a bugger for rattles etc I'm determined to get rid of this ASAP.. Researching on Google, this could be anything from the retractable boot cover, to boot catch, perhaps even rear centre seat-belt, but anything else I could try to rule out plse? I've also got a steel space saver wheel, with usual tools, so contemplating wrapping tools up in bubble-wrap, but never had to do this in any previous car.. It's definitely a metal sound I'm hearing, well what I believe anyway.. Any previous experience of this would be very greatly appreciated.. Andrew

Karoq SEL 1.5TSi ACT Manual 34 month Update and Review
When you say 'happy with both', do you mean 19s and 16s, or the handling and grip on the 16s? I'm on 19s, well only picked the car up a fortnight ago tomorrow lol, but definitely a firmer ride than the test-drive i had on 18s (SE L).. Just wish they had left things alone and kept 18s on the SE L!!

Karoq SEL 1.5TSi ACT Manual 34 month Update and Review
Hi, forgive me for asking plse but how are you finding the ride quality on the 16s? Is it VERY different to the stock 19s? Cheers Andrew

2 cylinder symbol flashing
Oh I also saw Coasting in text a few times today also, but the Driving mode was Normal. I haven't even selected Eco mode yet tbh..

2 cylinder symbol flashing
Finally got to go for a drive earlier, your suggestion worked a treat, cheers!!

2 cylinder symbol flashing
Hi, I may be misreading it but plse see below:- https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/475273-2-cylinder-mode-query/ I read it that you should perhaps see either 2cyl or Eco, although they are probably the same thing lol!? I guess it's because I saw the 2cyl flash up in the demo car, so just expected the same with my new Karoq, albeit mine has the virtual cockpit.. Not hugely important as such, just getting used to it atm, and seeking the wisdom of you guys..

2 cylinder symbol flashing
Good evening All, just over a week in my new Karoq SE L, and I've done a whopping 45 miles thus far lol!! Anyway, I can remember when having a test-drive in same trim back in December and often saw a '2 cylinder' light flash up on the standard analogue cockpit! My new one has digital cockpit and haven't seen same light flash up even once yet! I've seen 'Eco' flash up a few times but I've read that's something different.. Any thoughts plse? Will the engine perhaps need to loosen up do you think, or will that light never show on my digital/virtual cockpit? Thanks in advance Andrew

Smartlink
Apologies, it's a Samsung S10, so android! Yes, all powers up ok, my Spotify (already set up) works fine, but keep hearing about this 'SmartLink', and can't see that anywhere, unless that's just a play on words!? I can see there is Mirrorlink, but can't seem to access that! I guess on some videos I've seen, they show WhatsApp etc, but, again, can't see that icon anywhere.. Probably something and nothing tbh, just making sure I'm not missing out on anything lol!?

Virtual cockpit
Sorry no, meant that I can have either Waze or Google Maps on the Infotainment system, and then built-in nav on the virtual cockpit.. Seems daft to do it like this though..

Smartlink
Afternoon All, quick one plse! Picked my new Karoq 1.5 SE L the other day, and connecting up with my mobile phone on AA! However, when I press Menu, should there not be a Smartlink icon to select? I notice on AA that there's Mirrorlink, but nowt happens when I click on it lol.. Many thanks in advance Andrew

Virtual cockpit
I'm sure he meant when the speedo reads 30, you're actually doing about 27, and so on and so forth, somewhere in the region of 10% difference..
-
Virtual cockpit
Interesting but can you plse explain in simple terms what you mean lol? Sorry, I'm not that tech savvy..
-
Virtual cockpit
Cheers, managed to get Google Maps on Infotainment System and in-built on vc, not Waze, odd, but no biggie as I said..
-
Virtual cockpit
Cheers Both, not a biggie I guess, but something I didn't know before buying.. I'd imagine the answer is No, but can you perhaps have Waze or Google Maps on the Infotainment System, but show Skoda maps on the vc?

Virtual cockpit
Good evening All, hope you're well!? I am now the proud owner of a new Karoq 1.5 SE L! Enjoying it so far in the few times I've been out in it, somewhat different drive to my previous Golf Mk 7R lol!! Anyway, and perhaps for those plse who have the virtual cockpit! Is it possible to show maps/nav in BOTH the Infotainment System AND the virtual cockpit plse? When I go to Settings, I can only seem to have it on one or the other, ie. not both together.. If this is the case, fine, would then rule out user error.. Many thanks in advance Andrew

Collection Day
Well it's now got pride of place on my drive!! Pleased thus far, although nearly cried handing over my Golf R lol!! A few things which I'm doing some research on but can't find answers, or can't believe lol!? 1) Does the SE L not come with footwell lighting as standard? 2) Reference my MY21 Amundsen, when you bring your hand closer to the screen, should there not be some boxes that appear as if by magic, eg. Destinations, New Destinations, etc etc? Many thanks Andrew

Collection Day
Yes, I think they just shift it off to an auction house! The dealer is in Tier 4 (I'm in Tier 3), only 11 miles away, daft I know, so can't imagine they'll even look inside, never mind examine everything!! I will miss the R, that's for sure, but time to act my 48 years now lol!!
-
Collection Day
I'll do the decent thing and leave the tears on lol, which tbf are also in mint condition..
-
Collection Day
Yeah, was thinking that, I was the 2nd owner tbh officially as pre-registered, but just wondered what any legal implications are lol!? As for cleaning exterior of my R, not really possible atm.. :(

Collection Day
Evening All, after what seems like an eternity, I'm due to pick up my new Karoq SE L this Tuesday! You've probably read my other ramblings on other posts but the time to collect is nearly upon me!! I did test-drive but on 18s, so still a bit weary about ride quality on what will be 19s..!! That said, moving across from a Golf (Mk 7) R, so there will be a few subtle differences I'm sure lol!! My new Karoq is Metallic Black, Heated windscreen, VC, Family Pack, Traffic Sign Recognition, and SSS wheel! Probably a bit off-piste here, but do dealers expect p/x cars (my R) to have all mats present? Something and nothing but I've had rubber mats in now for 4 years, ie. the standard carpet mats are completely unused and I'm loathed to just hand them over to dealer free lol!!

Karoq 1.5 SE L Tyres
Many thanks!! Picking up my new SE L next Tuesday, can't wait, but comes with 19s! Test-drove with 18s, and was very impressed with ride quality tbh, and also Sportline with 19s, and not quite as impressed IMHO! That said, coming from a Golf R with 19s, so my new SE L will be better no matter what wheels it has lol!!

Karoq 1.5 SE L Tyres
Hi, is the ride quality really that similar between the 18s and 19s?
