Anyone remapped a 1.5TSi to imporove driveability?
Well I might be tempted by a one-off payment for the dongle but being tied to a monthly payment for the app that goes with it isn't really on. Thanks for replying though.

Anyone remapped a 1.5TSi to imporove driveability?
I have a 2018 1.5TSi manual gearbox Edition & I'm really not getting on with it now. I find that there seems to be a big hole in the throttle response around 1500-2000 rpm which makes smooth driving dificult when moving off as the engine feels like it bogs down. In Sport mode it's bad & in Eco it's horrible. Maybe it's my clutch action but I've never had this issue with previous vehicles & I'm wondering if I should have gone for a DSG box instead, although I read many complaints about that hesitating to pull away which was why I went manual. The engine as awhole doesn't have much low end torque but it's fine once the turbo is spinning. Has anyone tried a re-map to overcome this issue? I'm not after more power & don't want to go faster, just to be able to drive smoothly.

Opening kessy key fob
The OP doesn't say whay type of fob he has: if it's the type with a flip-out key then the procedure is completley different. Flip the key out & they just use a wide flat bladed screwdiver in the slot the key lives in & carefully prise the cover off. The manual says use your thumb but that didn't work for me.

Insurance charges on 2021 Karoq 1.5Tsi SEl
I'm with Aviva & changed my the alloys on my Karoq from 19" to 17" Skoda rims & Aviva insisted on an increase in premium even though 17" rims are cheaper to replace than 19" ones. Insurance companies are just grasping shysters. You'd be extremely unwise to follow the advice of anyone who say don't declare any changes - they will look for the most minute of reasons to deny a claim. Fitted dashcam? You'd better check it's not a declareable modification.

Karoq Service
I bought my Karoq with 2 years service, MoT & Warranty which is about to run out at the end of March & I've just had an email about Service Plans. Initially I ignored it but looking at the All-in plan it seems it might not be a bad deal as it includes 2x Services, 2x MoTs, 2 years warranty & AA breakdown for £900. I realise an indy might be cheaper but the Warranty is certainly attractive - I've already used it to have a broken fuel filler solenoid replaced. Does anyone think this plan is way overpriced? I can't see that it is although I'd want to see the fine detail of the Warranty.

Karoq Boot Liner
Thanks, I thought that might be the case.

Karoq Boot Liner
I've had a search but there doesn't seem any recent discusssion on this so can ayone recommend a decent boot liner for a Karoq? I'm not talking about the rubber mat, I mean the waterproof load area cover for use whne taking stuff down to the tip. There are numerous cheap covers on Amazon but I'm guessing the quality for £20 may be marginal & not a particulalry good fit, but maybe I'm wrong. There are companies like Car Mats, Titan & Rhino who appear to do more customised covers but of course the cost is considerably higher. Ideally I'd like one that covers the rear seats when rolled up & not just folded flat but I haven't found a company that does that.

Tyres again - 7J or 7.5J?
Thank you very much for your response; I'll have to pass on the 7.5J rims then & keep searching for 6.5J ones. It's a pity as they were decent condition & a fair price.

Tyres again - 7J or 7.5J?
It's the usual story - I'm running 19" rims & the ride is not good so I've been hunting for some 17" rims, mainly on Facebook Marketplace. The approved/OEM size is 215/55 R17 on 7Jx17 ET45 rims but I have seen a set of Audi 7.5Jx17 ET45 rims for a good price (5x112 PCD so should be ok). I've checked on willtheyfit.com & fairly obviously the inside edge is 1/4" (6.5mm) further inboard but given the 19" rims are 8J I don't think that's an issue. Are there any other problems with using 7.5J rims instead of 7J? Will a 215/55 tyre fit & run ok?

Cable access to center console?
I've found that mounting my phone to the left of the sterring wheel doesn't work for me & I much prefer it mounted to the right but this leave the problem og getting a cable to it. I've read some of the guides on here but what I would like to do is get a USB cable into the center console from behind the dash so I can plug it into the port below the cigarette lighter. I can't feel an opening at the back of the console so has anyone found a route into the phone charger/lighter compartment?

Difficulty getting ignition to turn on
I have just acquired a 2108 Karoq Edition (manual gearbox) with KESSY & I am still in the early learning stage but one thing I am having trouble with it getting the ignition to turn on. I know to start the car you need to depress the clutch but to just turn on the ignition (and off) I believe you should just be able to press the start button while the key is in the car. I'm having difficulty getting this to work & I'm not sure if it's something I'm doing wrong or if it a fault. At one point today I couldn't get the ignition to turn on & then I flipped up the parking brake switch which illuminated & then next press of the start button the ignition did come on. Was this a fluke or is there some combination of settings that inhibits the ignition? I haven't had trouble actually starting the vehicle so far, just in getting the ignition to turn on. I haven't yet tried both keys but I don't seem to have any problems locking & unlocking the car so i don't think the key battery is dead. I see that there a few threads on this subject but I just wanted to check that the ignition should just come on with a single push & I haven't inhibited it somehow.

Whay the difference in rear floor height?
Thanks for the replies but it's still a bit of a mystery. The floor panels are different shapes (the low one has shaped ends to fit the chassis menber intrusion) & I don't think you can have the variable floor withe the Varioflex seats soI'm still not sure what combination gets you a high floor with Varioflex. Neither of them are 4x4 vehicles. Oh well, it's not a key factor but it would be useful to know.

Whay the difference in rear floor height?
Firstly apologies for another question but it's a bit of a minefield when trying to dig out information on the web. Looking at a couple of Karoqs there's a difference in floor height but both are supposed to have space saver spare wheels. Can anyone explain why, other than one may have the full size wheel stowage kit? I notice that in the high version the lashing points are hidden.

Any issues with the Pano roof?
Thanks. It's not something I would choose but they all have them so I guess I'll just have to keep an eye on the cleaning.

Any issues with the Pano roof?
I'm looking at used Editions which all come with a Pano roof. Leaks are a common complaint in the Yeti section so what about in the Karoq? Is it particularly noisy compared to a solid steel roof?

Looking at a S/H Karoq - is this service history ok or not?
Thanks for the information. It was registered late April 2018 so it's nearly four years old & at the first service at 17,600 it was almost exactly one year old. Then there's a two year & 19,000 mile gap to the next service at 36,500 & then a nine month 6000 mile gap until the last service. I'm trying to get more information about what each service involved but I had been put off by what seemed a high mileage for he first service - it turns out I may be wrong. The tyres are pairs so not a complete mismatch. I only do a low mileage each year so it will soon become a lower mileage that average vehicle. Again, thanks.

Looking at a S/H Karoq - is this service history ok or not?
I'm interested in a Karoq 1.5 Edition Manual, not DSG which has done about 47k miles but the only service history is one at 17,600 miles then 36500 & then 42800. I'm thinking this isn't good, especially with the first one being at nearly 18k. Is it possible this is a reasonble history, or a car that's probably been neglected?

Skoda Online Configurator Issue
I'm trying to put together a configuration for a Karoq in the Skoda online web configurator but once I start adding options it say the price is NA. Am I supposed to finish adding options & then submit it? I was expecting to see the price online so I could add & remove options to see the effect on the final price.
