This must be the engine speed sensor connection, also known as crank sensor.

Can you see any pin numbers on the housing of the broken part? If so match pin 1 on broken part to brown wire end. I can just see the numbers in the photo above, on the loom connector close to where the wires emerge, look in equivalent position of other half.

The brown is 0V, the black is cable screen, white is signal. Brown and black may be connected within the engine ECU even though they go in on different pins.

You can probably measure a small resistance between the pins of the sensor that are supposed to connect to pins 1 and 2 of the connector in this photo. Does that make sense? I can draw a little diagram if it doesn't.

yes yes it does make sense, i got it, and yes i found 1 2 3 in the other side too, i wil make sure it hass good contact with some contact cleaner and some adjustment, thank you!

That yellow wire at position 5 (which is radiator fan full speed) has been messed with/added too...

The yellow one is a auxiliary headlights i installed ;-)

And now i know why the fan works with that cable disconnected, check this pict

the wire i marked with green is the ne supposed to be at the fuse 8, it is connected directly in the upper position of that.. i dont know the name hehehe, so it is not protected

The lock unit inside the drivers door is notorious for failing with faulty microswitches or bad solder joints.  Also check for broken wires inside the rubber door trunking, which is extremely common.

Is the lock unit INSIDE the driver´s door?

Do i have to remove the metal panel where the window regulator is, or only the plastic board?

regarding the trunk, i will check for broken wires but i don´t think, because if i disconnect and connect the battery then it works perfectly (the trunk)

( i am making my list to check for tomorrow lol)

  4. Hello guys!

in the engine area i have found several cables with its wires exposed, and some (from the alternator), totally disconnected

The alternator has three connections, a big one that it is for a positive, and a small connector with two wires, what is that small connector for? i did repair it but i see the car works with or without it it connected

    In other side

    please check the following pictures:

Those wires are going to one of the injectors, does its polarity matter? i guess it is a resistance, isn't?

What about this connector? it is so deteriorated that i lose it´s shape and can be connected in any direction. if i disconnect it while the engine is running, the engine will stop, BUT if i start the engine with it disconnected, it will start normally

and if i connected in the other direction, it runs "normal" too..  so, what it is for and which way should i connect it?

There is one wire that has its wires exposed, it is one of the wires that goes to the connector just beside the pump, i guess it is the connector for the pump, i will fix that tomorrow and see what´s happen.

    And, what was this?

    Thank you in advance!

  5. My car, has some issues but in this post i will group two of them that could be related, the lock system and the rear door/gate

the rear door gate only can be opened from the manual handle inside, no matter if the car is unlocked or in the first 15 minutes of the battery being connected, i will explain that  in a moment

    Now with the lock system...

if left it alone locked, one day a week at night it unlock itself and turn down the windows

if left unlocked, two or three times in a day he locks or unlock itselfe

(it does it more often if it is unlocked)

Once in the car with engine on, no matter if you lock or unlock he will unlock or unlock one or couple of times in a single trip OR one time with multiple locks and unlocks consecutively.

AND the problem get terribly worse if i unlock the car form the exterior from the driver´s door, i keep the beast calm by locking or unlocking the car with the key FROM the passenger´s door.

if i unlock the car from outside using the driver´s door, i can never lock it back again with the LED blinking,, i mean if i accidentally unlock it by the driver´s door, i could lock it back again once i leave the car, but the LED on the door will not blink

to "reset" the locking system i disconnect the battery for some minutes and then connect it back and then the lock system works well as long i don't use the drivers door for unlocking or locking from the exterior

AT THIS MOMENT that i have reconnected the battery, the rear gate CAN NOW be opened from the exterior, the handle(the exterior button) works fine, flawlessly, but after several minutes it will not work until i disconnect and reconnect the battery

    Alternator?

I dont know, id likt to think it is that and not a mayor problem.

I had a similar problem n anothwr vehicle, it was the alternator's regulator, it had the same simptons with the mights goinh up and down but the idle was stable.

Could it be possible the alternator is ao damaged that the irregularity in the idling could be due a resistance the alternator is creating to the engine rotation?

  7. Hello!

y name is Ralph, i am living in the caribbean area.

i got a Skoda fabia SDI two months ago primarlly for a job i am doing and i job in which i needed a car with a space larger than a sedan and smaller than a small pickup, minitruck like Fiat Fiorino/Peugeot partner/Renault Kangoo with the reliability and efficiency of the diesel, so he Fabia SDI was the first and almost the only choice in my country.

i am extremely impressed with the fuel autonomy, despite the car has had some issues (it was the only one i could find) i am trying to keep it up in good shape

    cheers!
