  1. Nope. Hole its already in place and lines up with the original. Indeed. And it'll probably arrive tomorrow now 😂
  2. After getting the hump waiting for a bonnet strut kit to arrive from AliExpress (ordered 27th January and should have arrived by March 4th) I went on Amazon last week and ordered the struts and ball bolts which arrived in less than a week. Fitted today which was easy as pie. Should have had an M10 spline bit for the screws in the bonnet but chanced an m8 Allen key which worked perfect. 4 screws out, 4 bolts in, click the struts in place, done 😁
  3. Another little update - drivers foot rest. Not a perfect fit, but for €15 it's good enough 😊 One screw in the side, slight wiggling, job done. 2 mins max once I had the right torx bit.
  4. Another AliExpress purchase - I may have a slight addiction 😂 Flappy paddle extensions 😎 Before Paddles - I went with black as I wanted subtle rather than in your face End result. Admittedly I've rarely used the steering controls, will see if these encourage me to use them more 🤔
  5. Hopefully this works -https://a.aliexpress.com/_mORcqht Camera A was perfect fit for me. I used this thread as a reference - Hope that helps 😊
  6. That's a great help. Never considered removing the seat base. Thank you.
  7. I've tried searching the forms but I've come up empty. Can anyone point me in the direction of a guide or instructions for removing interior trims please? In particular I want to remove the plastic trims around the frame of the bottom half of the doors on the passenger side to run cables from the boot to the glove box. I had a look recently when fitting my reversing camera but I was afraid to pull too hard in case if be snapping tabs or damaging connections. I was able to remove the A-pillar trim, but the others felt like they needed even more force which I wasn't comfortable with - or maybe there's a particular way to lift them that doesn't require anywhere near the force? It also felt like the B & C pillar trims were actually attached to the headliner? Help please
  8. I think over here the SE is Ambition, while the SE-L is Elegance. I have a lot more homework to do 😊
  9. That's what I was hoping to do and started the thread to find out if it's possible 😊 are the mounting points the same? Do the SE seats have side airbags like the VRS or will i have issues?
  10. Be careful with your choice of camera. I've a late 2014 car and fitted a camera off AliExpress last week which was the click in fitting type and not the bolt in like you've linked. There are also a couple of different sizes so measure before ordering.
  11. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll certainly mention it to her 😊
  12. Cost more to change the wife after nearly 15 years 😁 VRS does indeed have height adjustment, but she has an underlying condition that makes sports style seats uncomfortable for her. The full taught leather possibly isn't helping the situation. Even with the seat fully raised it still leans down at the rear. I'm looking to see if I can get the sort of seat that you sit on rather than in if you get me? For example she's OK on the flat base seats in her Kangoo, her mother's Panda and the Shogun i had many years ago, where she simply couldn't travel in my BMW because the combination of m-sports seats, suspension and 19" rims with 35 profile tyres meant it was just torture for her. Hence looking at alternative spec Octavia, or even Golf or Audi A4 if they'd bolt in.
  13. Long story short, my better half does not like the passenger seat in my car. Too low, firm and not a fan of the bolsters. Now rather than change the car which i only have a couple of months, I was wondering if it might be possible to swap the seat from a different spec car instead? Do the other models have side airbags? Did any come with heaters in them? Should they bolt straight in? Any help would be appreciated.
  14. Famous last words 😁 wasn't your Octavia supposed to remain fairly standard too? 😂 Speaking of the Octavia - are you trading it or selling it on? Thoroughly enjoyed your protect thread, so even though I don't have (or currently lust after) a Superb, I'll be following with interest.
  15. For once plans worked out, and today I got my reversing camera fitted up and working. Relatively handy job, though I will admit i was paranoid about damaging trims and clips so it's not quite how I wanted it with the route for the wire. It can't be seen though which is the main thing, so I'll probably leave it as its. 😆 New camera replaced old handle. Biggest headache was feeding the cable through here. Of course I ran a lead for a rear dash cam at the same time since I had the trim surrounds removed, and just because 1 lead wasn't enough misery 🤦‍♂️ Unexpectedly discovered that it all worked once connected up. I had expected it to need coding to the car. Added bonus was the moving guide lines 😎
  16. Had a bit of slate time in work the other night, so decided to attack the tool kit holder. Cut nearly 20mm out of the base and it now sits much better. With the floor mat fitted on top you can't notice any difference from standard. This morning my cheap AliExpress led boot lights arrived in the post. Couldn't justify the expense from SuperSkoda when it was just something I wanted, rather then needed. Time will tell how I get on with them, but first impressions are positive. Didn't need the supplied wire connections, just unplugged the old ones and plugged in the new. Bit tighter fitting in the holes in the trim, but nothing that needed attention. Before and after photos below.
  17. Lovely. Will try that 😊
  18. Thanks for the link Gaz. That's plan A confirmed so. Gonna hack it out of the bottom. 😁 Any idea where the towing eye and screwdriver are supposed to fit in the insert? There's no obvious indent for them 🤔
  19. That'll be Plan B. 😊 Plan A is to cut some of the excess out of the base so it sits lower in the wheel. Could end up with Plan C, which will be A and B combined - we'll see 😁
  20. I've placed an order for a reversing camera, so I'm now thinking of investing in an OBDEleven Ultimate pack to help with coding it to work, and also possible future tweaks and diagnostics. With that in mind I thought it would be a good idea to get on to the previous owner of the car to get a list of what coding he's already done. He was only too happy to oblige so I now know that he carried out the following; Auto Start/Stop disabled Headlight washers disabled Oil temperature on Maxidot activated Lap timer on Maxidot activated Rear hazard lights illuminating when boot open Skoda logo on stereo start up screen replaced with VRS logo Rear numberplate led lights coded Front led fog lights coded CH/LH lights function on Static cornering lights on Traffic sign recognition off Throttle pedal response changed from Standard to Responsive I need to investigate further to see if the sound aktor is disabled or just broken (i think these cars all came with them?) Also need to check rear fogs as both work and I was under the impression that from factory only 1 worked? In other news my new Bosch front wiper blades arrived today. In over 25 years of motoring these have to be the easiest ever to change! Packaging was another Amazon fail 😂
  21. Well I now have a full size spare wheel, but I'm not very happy with how much its raised the center of the boot floor. I'll have to revisit when the weather is better, at least I have it for now. Ordered the RS specific kit direct from my main dealer - item number 5E0 093 860C Kit came with wheel brave, Jack & Jack handle, strap and nut for securing the wheel. Picked up a spare Gemini alloy off a fellow VRS owner last night. Standard kit into full size wheel won't go So out came the Stanley blade and hacked off loads of the sticky out bits Insert now fits into the wheel, though it's quite proud which I didn't realise would have such an impact on the boot floor On to fitting, removed the existing floor piece Wheel in and bolted down Tool kit repopulated and strapped in. Couldn't see a neat way to fit the screwdriver or towing eye - anyone tell me what I'm missing? So now floor is raised considerably (impossible to show in a photo). Weather is crap so it'll stay as its for now, but when it's a bit drier I think I'll take it out again and cut a bit out of the base of the kit holder so it sits lower in the wheel 🤔 And yes, I realise the kit is sitting backwards 😂 Though I don't see it really matters much.
  22. So remove the large bit at the bottom (hopefully my trim removal tools will ensure no lost bits) then the window frame piece. Perfect. And thank you 😊
  23. Can anyone tell me if this is similar in the Combi please?
  24. Some more practical additions this week, sourced through my local dealer. Worked out cheaper than buying online when postage was taken into account. So genuine boot mat, netting set and jack kit ticked off the list. Hopefully picking up a spare wheel this evening so the gunk can be dumped.
  25. If you feel the need for extra lighting then I think an led light bar would be much better, both in looks and performance.
