Removing internal trim from rear hatch

Featured Replies

I have a ream dash cam that I want to try and fit so I need to figure out how to remove the trim around the rear screen. I was hoping to find a YouTube vid of someone doing just that so I could see exactly how to do it, but as of yet I've not managed to find one. From poking around on here and online, it sounds as though it's held in place by spring clips around the edges, as indicated below...is that right? Are there any other clips or screws that need removing? And to remove the clips, is it just a case of swinging on them hard enough to spring them out? Any particular order?

This any help ? .................

So the usual then, fingers with the strength of free climbers to get them spring clips free and a box of band aids to hand.:D

Can't help you with removing the trim, but here's what I did as food for thought. Never even considered removing the trim myself, just used the same tried & true method from the install on my old 306. Consider that if you tuck the cable underneath the trim, you're going to have to cut a hole in it somewhere to get the cable out at the camera.

The fixings on the window surround - part 3 in the pic either need the centre bit pulling out with a sharp knife and pliers to release  them or push the centre bit through and lose it it the tailgate, ask me how I know...

So remove the large bit at the bottom (hopefully my trim removal tools will ensure no lost bits) then the window frame piece. Perfect. And thank you 😊
