  1. My order form lists it as a factory fitted option and that’s from December. It lists all my chosen options and then some others that I considered standard on the SEL but certainly not an exhaustive list. I’ll try and post a pic. I don’t expect it to have the boot release...
  2. That’s definitely my understanding that the first edition SEL’s would be memory to go with the electric memory seats. It really shouldn’t be a mystery what features the car will turn up with!
  3. Ok so it’s probably a wait and see what turns up. I’m now starting to doubt that I’ll have folding door mirrors as well as the website doesn't seem to mention them although they are specified on the paperwork from the dealer so I’ll try and hold them to that!
  4. Does the SEL have an auto dimming rear view mirror?
  5. I’ve specified a Octavia with the heads up and travel assist so it will be interesting if the traffic signs come up as it is mentioned in the description for travel assist. I’m not holding my breath though...
  6. Can’t help with your issue but can I just ask, is the heads up display one that projects the info directly onto the windscreen or is it one with a retractable screen that pops up out of the dash? I find the brochure for the Octavia pretty rubbish and it could make it far clearer that the heads up display doesn’t include traffic sign recognition. Every image of that option just says “heads up display” and doesn’t mention travel assist or whatever it’s called.
  7. Well if you have the Yaris GR then that will satisfy all your driving urges. The lower powered Octavia will be fine.
  8. I have the 95bhp polo too and I’m actually going to be really sad to give it up!
  9. I would always suggest to give it a test drive yourself if you can. What you might tolerate might be very different to someone else. Personally I think the 1.0 litre is a good engine especially with a manual gearbox but I’ve only driven it inside a polo which is smaller and lighter. It will probably come down to how often you drive with a full car and whether you want to breeze overtakes or take it easy. Frustratingly there are few reviews of the Octavia with the 1.0 litre engine. Top gear have done one with the new golf though which you might find helpful. Again it’s one persons opinion but a fairly similar car. They quite liked it. https://www.topgear.com/car-reviews/volkswagen/golf-mk7/10-tsi-life-5dr/first-drive
  10. I do agree that the options list is way more confusing than it should be. Even the standard equipment doesn’t seem to be consistent from car to car... I have an Octavia hatch SEL on order and I have gone for the HUD but now wondering whether I should have tried it on a Skoda myself. I’ve driven the latest Z4 with a HUD and I loved it. I found myself looking away from the road a lot less. I do think it’s probably only worthwhile if you also get travel assist as that gets you the traffic sign recognition. That does make it nearly an extra grand though. I do wonder whether the SEAT method of having more trims but few to no options is a better way of doing things? I suppose Skoda are still not like Jaguar Land Rover where the option lists are obscene!
