  1. What about a face-lift mk III? Can get them at a good price now
  2. My advice, for what it is worth is to leave well alone the Mark iv until a few years down the line once they have ironed out all the problems.
  3. Thanks, im testing driving one tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
  4. I never bothered with Skoda Connect so no idea about the status of mine. It all sounds as though the fix is still some time off yet,
  5. There is no news. It is obviously much harder than they thought to sort. I heard from the Brand Liaison Manager yesterday confirming there is still no date to any fix. My car is been at the garage now for 3 weeks. I am in the throws of rejecting so if there was any hope that something was in the pipeline, I think she would have told me.
  6. I am considering a MK III, 1.5 petrol SEL, reg: 2020 Would people recommend the car? I hear there are problems with 'kangerooing' in the manual. Are the later versions any better. Is the DSG a solid choice. Any common problems with them. Any advice would be very much received. Many thanks
  7. Sorry for the loss. Dogs are fab. Nice of Skoda to do this.
  8. That is interesting. I got an email that indicated that they were still not close! Anyone else heard this from Kate Laws?
  9. Asv a matter of interest, what are you part exing for?
  10. Thanks! I would love a VRS (used to have a FRabia VRS, which wasd immense), but with two kids and a generally frugal nature, a humble 1.5 SEL is more on the radar. Test driving one at Marshall Leicester tomorrow actually.
  11. I was thinking the same. I am looking at the mark III Octavia. Maybe older, but many of the features are on the last face lift models and they are a good price now the new model has come out.
  12. Agree. The car is fundamentally good but can't live with the glitches all the time and the kamgerooing engine. There is great potential but it clearly was not tested properly. Also, the way Skoda are dealing with it, or not is equally disappointing. I have had Skodas since 2000. Never a problem. Now though . . . Such a huge shame. In a few years when everything is properly sorted out I might return to an Octavia mk IV. That infotainment system, in my humble opinion, is so dangerous. So distracting to use when driving.
  13. VW has most of the problems. Was a massive recall in 2019. In fact the tech in the Golf is even worse from what I have heard. Huge dissatisfaction with it. And yet the reviews are all great! Makes no sense although I read somewhere that VAG own many of the review sites. Wouldn't touch a VW either, or a Seat.
  14. Good choice, do not get an Octavia!
  15. Mine has kangerooing. Dealership says there is no evidence of it, nor no log, but it certainly is there. Hence getting rid. I would phone and tell them you are thinking of rejecting and see what they say.
  16. It is very difficult after 6 months, but I think it can be done. You have to write to the dealer formally rejecting the car. You list all the problems and any failures to fix said problems. Then wait to hear what they say. Have you got a First Edition?
  17. They are looking into it, but I have formally rejected the car because of the myriad of faults with it. Everytime I get in it there is a problem with something.
  18. Mine started off connecting automatically and no longer did, before I sent it in to the dealers. I had to do the same as you.
  19. For those that are rejecting and bought outright, have you had a 'buy back' offer yet? It seems if you reject after 30 days, Skoda take off an amount per mile (which I think is shocking as they delivered a faulty car).
  20. Pretty conclusive that they knew about the issue before Christmas then and were still selling the car. Shocking stuff.
  21. Thank for answering - really helpful to know.
  22. Are the problems as described in terms of kanerooing? Any other issues?
  23. I have a Kamiq as the hire car and that recognises all destinations as offroad too!
  24. Ohdear, that doesn't sound great!
  25. yes, manual and has the software updates
