Parts From A Wrecked Skoda Fabia MK1 Eastate
Hello, I was at the supermarket yesterday and someone noticed me driving my Fabia MK1. Pretty much this gentleman's Fabia is about to be towed and scrapped, he offered me the opportunity to take any parts from this vehicle before it gets taken away. I have a 1.2 Fabia MK1 2006, from what I understand he has a red MK1 1.4 estate comfort model. Any suggestion on what parts to take or could come in handy? I know we have different models but hopefully some parts are interchangeable. This gentleman was not asking for any money however he does support a homeless charity, if anyone is interested in any parts please let me know. Tui

MK1 Fabia - Aftermarket stereo installation
Hey, Thanks for a detailed post! Regarding step 8 and your amplifier, I have one on mine all connected like yours but the signal doesn't improve as much. In this video at around 1 minute 17 when he connects the two blue wire the signal is crystal clear compared to when they are not connected. With mine the signal improves but definitely isn't clear, what could be the issue? I have another amplifier coming in the post. Regards King Tui

Aircon re gassing and emptying
Hello, A quick search online and I found this MSDS for the recharge gas. Very interesting and helpful post from Xman, I will consider this next time i need to re-gas my AC. Tui

Aircon re gassing and emptying
That's a good point actually they might do as Halfords offer an AC Recharge service so I'm sure they would eventually use the gas. Tui

Aircon re gassing and emptying
Hey, The STP one is very good and when the can is empty you get £10 back from it. Its a large can so there is a chance you only end up using half of the can in which case you have two options either let the rest of the R134a out and collect your £10 or screw the red lid on the can and keep it in your garage. Choice is yours but personally I would want to keep the can and check the level each week to see if I have a leak. If you go to 13 minutes and 50 seconds in this video you can see the guy disconnect everything. Tui

Hey, What does the gauge say the pressure is currently at? Also what gauge and refilling gas did you buy? Tui

Fabia MK1 MOT Advisory - Exhaust Minor Leak
Hello, Thanks all for the responses, the mechanic did mention something about the lambda probe when he was explaining how to fix it to me. I think I will leave this one to the professionals given all your responses but I will source the parts myself thanks to all your help. Thanks! Tui

Fabia MK1 MOT Advisory - Exhaust Minor Leak
Hello, My 2006 Fabia just passed it's MOT with only two advisories, rear spring coil and exhaust pipe leak. The rear spring coil looks like an easy fix but I am not sure about the exhaust, the mechanic sent me the below video and this is the description from the MOT certificate: "Front lower exhaust pipe has a minor leak" When he dropped the car off he briefly mentioned something about the wire thing he points at and something about a clamp but I'm lost. Any help on what I need to do would be much appreciated. Tui Fabia Exhaust.mp4

Air con
Hello, What position do you have on your AC/heating controls like in the below photo? Of the four when mine is on the right (air towards the driver) it does exactly what you are describing so I permanently have it pointing up (air towards windscreen) unless actually using the AC or heating. Tui

Hey, You could try and contact your local scrap/breaker yard to see if they have an old Skoda you can take the part from. Alternatively send Skoda Parts an email to see if they can send it by post instead of Fedex as its only a small part so a high delivery price is hard to justify. Tui

Warning: Fabia Door Leaks
Hello Hugh, I think your best bet is either going to an actual Skoda dealership which will be pricey or speaking to a local mechanic. As there are plenty of videos online I would show them to a mechanic because it is an easy job and requires only a handful of tools. Here are some videos: Good - Good - Great - The last one takes a bit more time, the first two are what I have done and still holding up. I recommend using Plumbers Gold as a sealant. New old pickup
Hey, Good to hear about the price and locks, the seals are easy to do plenty of videos online and I recommend using Plumbers Gold. I would get the EPC light looked at and car serviced before spending any significant amount on the car personally. The car looks good in black and I have seen a few nice ones in dark red and light blue. Unfortunately mine is beige.... Tui
