  1. Hey, I'm checking out the car on Friday and will report back. Were both based in Crowborough, East Sussex so probably couldn't be further away but I'm sure we can arrange delivery. Will let you know if he has the roof rails. Tui
  2. Hello, I might be able to help, please checkout my recent post: Wrecked Skoda estate Tui
  3. Hello, I'm not too sure about the year all I have is it's a red estate comfort model 1.4. I will probably be going tomorrow or the next day but here is what I have in mind so far: Spare tyre jack floor mats Rear door cover if compatible (6Y6 863 497 47H) Wiper blades Headlight cases front and rear Front passenger door trim Heated Side mirrors If people in this community are interested please let me know. Tui
  4. Hello, I was at the supermarket yesterday and someone noticed me driving my Fabia MK1. Pretty much this gentleman's Fabia is about to be towed and scrapped, he offered me the opportunity to take any parts from this vehicle before it gets taken away. I have a 1.2 Fabia MK1 2006, from what I understand he has a red MK1 1.4 estate comfort model. Any suggestion on what parts to take or could come in handy? I know we have different models but hopefully some parts are interchangeable. This gentleman was not asking for any money however he does support a homeless charity, if anyone is interested in any parts please let me know. Tui
  5. Hey, Thanks for a detailed post! Regarding step 8 and your amplifier, I have one on mine all connected like yours but the signal doesn't improve as much. In this video at around 1 minute 17 when he connects the two blue wire the signal is crystal clear compared to when they are not connected. With mine the signal improves but definitely isn't clear, what could be the issue? I have another amplifier coming in the post. Regards King Tui
  6. Hello, A quick search online and I found this MSDS for the recharge gas. Very interesting and helpful post from Xman, I will consider this next time i need to re-gas my AC. Tui
  7. That's a good point actually they might do as Halfords offer an AC Recharge service so I'm sure they would eventually use the gas. Tui
  8. Hey, The STP one is very good and when the can is empty you get £10 back from it. Its a large can so there is a chance you only end up using half of the can in which case you have two options either let the rest of the R134a out and collect your £10 or screw the red lid on the can and keep it in your garage. Choice is yours but personally I would want to keep the can and check the level each week to see if I have a leak. If you go to 13 minutes and 50 seconds in this video you can see the guy disconnect everything. Tui
  9. Hey, What does the gauge say the pressure is currently at? Also what gauge and refilling gas did you buy? Tui
  10. Hello, Thanks all for the responses, the mechanic did mention something about the lambda probe when he was explaining how to fix it to me. I think I will leave this one to the professionals given all your responses but I will source the parts myself thanks to all your help. Thanks! Tui
  11. Hello, My 2006 Fabia just passed it's MOT with only two advisories, rear spring coil and exhaust pipe leak. The rear spring coil looks like an easy fix but I am not sure about the exhaust, the mechanic sent me the below video and this is the description from the MOT certificate: "Front lower exhaust pipe has a minor leak" When he dropped the car off he briefly mentioned something about the wire thing he points at and something about a clamp but I'm lost. Any help on what I need to do would be much appreciated. Tui Fabia Exhaust.mp4
  12. Hello, What position do you have on your AC/heating controls like in the below photo? Of the four when mine is on the right (air towards the driver) it does exactly what you are describing so I permanently have it pointing up (air towards windscreen) unless actually using the AC or heating. Tui
  13. Hey, You could try and contact your local scrap/breaker yard to see if they have an old Skoda you can take the part from. Alternatively send Skoda Parts an email to see if they can send it by post instead of Fedex as its only a small part so a high delivery price is hard to justify. Tui
  14. Hello Hugh, I think your best bet is either going to an actual Skoda dealership which will be pricey or speaking to a local mechanic. As there are plenty of videos online I would show them to a mechanic because it is an easy job and requires only a handful of tools. Here are some videos: Good - Good - Great - The last one takes a bit more time, the first two are what I have done and still holding up. I recommend using Plumbers Gold as a sealant. "If you want something done, and you want it done well you do it yourself" - Napoleon Bonaparte Tui
  15. Hey, Good to hear about the price and locks, the seals are easy to do plenty of videos online and I recommend using Plumbers Gold. I would get the EPC light looked at and car serviced before spending any significant amount on the car personally. The car looks good in black and I have seen a few nice ones in dark red and light blue. Unfortunately mine is beige.... Tui
  16. Hey, I have a 2006 MK1 1.2 htp with 121K miles and it runs great, take care of it and you will get many miles. Hope you got a good price! There are two common faults with this model, leaking rear door seals and door lock mechanism. Check the carpets in the passenger footwell to see if the carpet are wet as the rear door seals break easily. As for the locking mechanism there are two signs of a faulty unit, when you unlock to door does the interior/dome light come one? If you leave the headlights on when the engine is off does the car beep at you? If the answer is no to both you have a faulty unit. Tui
  17. I've not actually used them myself I was just using it as an example for searching around once you get a Skoda part number. Out of interest how would you compare them to Euro Car Parts? Their Youtube videos seem informative and straight forward for things like oil changes etc. Tui
  18. Hello, I would personally just get your local mechanic to get the part and fit it, my local mechanic quoted me £300 for a new clutch which includes parts and labour. If your set on finding the part yourself I would recommend signing up with Skoda-Parts for free and entering your VIN number. They will sell the exact part which fits your car so you can either buy from them directly our use the part number to find the kit elsewhere. For example here is the clutch kit for my fabia however searching online with the part number I can purchase the correct kit from somewhere like Auto Doc. Tui
  19. Hey, To get rid of the icon check out this video, its very simple. As for service I would change the oil, filters (oil, air, cabin and fuel), check the fluids (coolant and brake) and check the brake pads and discs. I have a 2006 1.2 MK1 with 121k miles and they are my yearly checks although I change my oil and filter every 6 months. Tui
  20. Hello, I have been trying to source the product and part number for the panel covering the boot/tailgate lock, from both my photos one is my current lock and the second is the panel I'm after in someones hand. Any help finding the part number would be much appreciated. Tui
  21. Yeah I learnt that one the hard way and had to return a bunch of stuff to Euro Car Parts, now I have my VIN number saved on Skoda-parts.com and use that for part numbers and compatibility. Tui
  22. Thanks for all the help and reassurance! £40 for genuine brake discs and £12 for genuine brake pads from ebay which I'm really happy with. Tui
  23. Hello, I recently bought two genuine Skoda front brake discs on ebay for £40 which were listed as never used but some surface rust. Once they arrived I noticed both discs have these cuts on them, they are 8cm long and a couple mm deep. Does anyone think I should return them of will they be fine? Tui
  24. Hey, Skoda-parts.com have a couple on their website: Genuine Aftermarket Just double check they would fit your fabia as the links will be for my 1.2 2006 fabia. Tui
  25. Hey, After you replaced the ignition coil did you remove the fault code with the diagnostic machine? Also have you tried moving the faulty ignition coil and spark plug with one that works? Your fault is with coil 1 which you have replaced so try swap it with coil 2 or 3 which you know is fine and see what the diagnostics machine says. Hopefully I explained that well enough but let me know how it goes. Tui
