So, Waaaay back in March (Here) when I suggested to Skoda UK that the solution to my 'complaint' was to replace the head unit with a later E revision was the solution, they're finally doing it. Ahhhh well, mine's long gone.... currently driving an 06 Passat... and this: Skoda have not done themselves any favours here..... but they have initiated my mid-life crisis....lol... /Phil

How many have rejected or are in the process of rejecting?
Hi, Handed mine back today, sad to say that's the end of my relationship with Skoda. Just waiting on the closure of my PCP deal, then I'll be on the look out for something different. Dealer was very 'matter of fact', didn't even try to talk about a replacement or help me decide what to do with the 3k deposit that would be returned to me. Car was in a very sorry state after being parked under a tree for the last 5 months. I chose not to say anything, but right now I have decided never to buy anything from that dealership ever again... How many have rejected or are in the process of rejecting?
Hi, Short update from me; My rejection has gone through, just waiting on the dealer to finalise things. VWFS have actually been very pro-active and pushed this for me, so in all of this, they're the good guys. Phil

How many have rejected or are in the process of rejecting?
Hi, I'm mid rejection and am not impressed by both Skoda UK's apparent delay tactics and VWFS lack of communication. At the end of last week I took to phoning VWFS every day and today got a call from my case handler. First thing they stated was that Skoda had told them there will be a fix for the MPH/KPH issue which is scheduled for the end of June (!?!). I have stated that while this all well and good, there is a systemic issue with the software implementation and I have lost faith with the vehicle and the VAG group as a whole. My vehicle has been at the dealers since March and waiting another six to eight weeks for a fix that may or may not work (or indeed be released) is still not on. The upshot is that they will be phoning me with their decision on Friday. I have said that the only resolution I will accept is a full refund and compensation for the inconvenience I have suffered and reminded them that this vehicle should never have been sold in the first place. They need to speak to the dealer and Skoda UK to organise things, so i'll wait to see what happens... Cheers Phil

Hi all, Just an update from me. I am currently in the rejection process with little communication from both Skoda and VWFS. I called the 'customer resolution line' yesterday at VWFS only to be told that 'We tried to call our contact (later to be identified as Kate Laws) to get further information, but couldn't talk to her.. To be fair the guy I talked to was apologetic and I managed to get a laugh out of him when I described the car as "A good idea, poorly implemented"... I just re-iterated my 'loss of confidence with the brand' and ask that my case be addressed at their earliest opportunity. Ho-hum.... /Phil

Hi, I have initiated the rejection process. I received a Mk4 Octavia Loan car and this has issues as well, so it's kind of put me off the whole range... My first contact with Skoda regarding the MPH/KMH was 24 Jan 21 - purchased the car 18 Jan 21. Cheers Phil

Hi, My car went back at the end of March / beginning of April, and last week I received a courtesy car via Skoda. I had to badger the hell out of them with help from my dealer. The dealer has said there is a fault within one of the modules concerning the over active ACC/anti-collision, but I've received no update regarding the MPH/KPH issue. Sadly, I have started the process to reject the car. It's funny, I received a Mk4 1,5 TSI estate (base model) as my loan car and this has just re-enforced my want to be shot of anything Skoda. On cold mornings the thing is kangaroo city, and the infotainment system, although 'B' revision hardware, exhibits freezing and I've already had the Front collision mitigation and emergency call errors... not impressed. Cheers Phil

Yep, Ex-Demo club here too. Part of my argument was that it should have been spotted and never re-sold in the UK (MPH/KMH issue) My car is in the dealers at the moment, but I received a call from Skoda on Thursday saying that they are renting me a car. I currently have a Fabia loaner at the moment, but as I'm 6' 6" driving one is both comical and painful for me - Seat as far back as it goes, unable to get left foot behind pedals. I have asked for 'something bigger' which I am told will be with me next week. It's interesting that they seem to be taking all the problematic cars off the road, I wonder if the legality aspect is at play here? Phil

Help with handling??
Hi, Agree with you that the Octavia is a bit of a softly sprung beast, comfortable at slow speed (car parks), but a bit of a nightmare at higher speeds. On start up I go through my checklist, selecting Drive Mode - Custom Setting - Sport Suspension and Sport Steering. Helps a bit with mine, although you may not be able to select this depending on what spec you have. Cheers.

Yeah, Cut and paste response to most of us, giving the same excuse I'm afraid (the same excuse since production) - As mentioned, I responded with an email asking for a definitive timeline - among other things. In other news - My dealer phoned me and said they have found faults with the 'Brake Boosting System' - which I've not heard of before, possibly part of the ACC system, I need to research it - This is throwing faults up with the front and rear protection systems, however there are no errors registered with them. They have tried to update the controller for it but with no success. I work with CanBus systems and have experienced this before due to manufacturers building in delays before registering a fault, so it's perfectly feasible (some of the kit I work with has an 11 second delay before a fault is logged) Anyway, some progress..... but not that impressed by SKoda UK customer service. Hi, Like a few others I received an email stating the same old excuse - 'It's affecting a small number of Octavia A8 owners and a software fix will be issued soon' She got a seven paragraph email back ......

Door mirror glass
Hi Because you have the auto dimming mirror, much like the interior mirror that dims at night. Not sure why they didn't put one on the left too, but hey...

Lol, When I get in my car I go through a routine; Sync on, Lane Assist off, custom drive mode, Sport suspension ON, Sport steering ON etc.. I'm driving a car for Pete's sake!... Not pre-flighting a 747.... I should probably make up some Skoda branded laminated checklists and get the missus to read them out to me each time we go out. Phil

Soooo, I got a call from Skoda today saying that someone senior will be calling me (Kate Laws?) this week regarding the issues I've reported. I'm interested in hearing what they have to say. I mentioned that there is a group of us with this issue, but got the response 'we only deal with cases on an individual basis'. Has anyone had the conversation with her yet? I'm curious as to the resolution. If it's a 'software update' promise then I'm done with Skoda..... next step will be to reject the car. Mine's booked in tomorrow to have the issues I reported looked at - I don't expect them to be able to do much - It's more of an exercise to get them to register the faults, if you get what I mean. Cheers /Phil

Morning, Received a reply from HJ yesterday: Whether or not Skoda's head of PR chooses to act on it or give a stiff ignoring is down to him. Here's hoping... Phil
