  1. Ended up letting the shop do the work 🙃
  2. Thanks a lot for this answer! I should have every tools for the job, now I need to decide if I want to break my bad doing so or not 😆 They're asking +670€ for the job which is correct considering the work to do. Maybe I'll let them do it, I'll see. Thanks a lot again for your answer, really helped me! If I decide to do it by myself maybe I'll post the steps on how to do it for everyone
  3. Hi, I've noticed lately that my car was eating coolant at a fast rate. Took it into a shop and they said the coolant pump is "exploded" (lol). Their delays to repair the car are too long and I'm looking into doing it myself, however, I'm not sure where it is located as I've left the manual in my car and can't access it as it's in the shop. So, I'm turning to you guys: Where is located the coolant pump and is it hard to change? Thanks a lot! Wish you a good day!
  4. Didn't know it was written on the back of the wheel. I'll look into it! They definitely look like the Comet alloy wheels. I'll Try and take a picture of the back of the wheel! So that might be why I'm seeing so many Monte Carlo's with different rims than mine. I'm from France.
  5. TL;DR: I need help identifying my rims' width and offset (see photo under) knowing my tire size (205/45 R16 87W). I don't have any equipement at home to remove my tires and check for everything, and I prefer asking here before going to a tire/auto shop in case anyone knows. Other questions: do you recommend any aftermarket rims? Do you recommend any website to look at/buy a new set of rims? Hi, Recently I've been looking for a new set of aftermarket rims to get better looking ones for my Skoda Fabia Mk2. The thing is: I don't know a lot in mechanics. I've made a post on Reddit to ask about rims and everything to know about them (which you can check here if you want a better understanding about my "needs", and if you want to add a bit of your knowledge to the answers I got). It's a lot to understand and acquire but I'm getting there... However, in order to change my rims I need to get the width and the offset of them correctly, and I don't know anything about them... I would need help identifying them, knowing my tire size (205/45 R16 87W). Photo of my rims: I've been looking for new rims on this website. I don't know if it's a good website but it was just to look at some wheel brands to get a good idea. Do you recommend any website to look at aftermarket rims? Do you recommend any aftermarket rims? Thank you for reading my post, thank you for taking the time to answer my questions if you do. Have a good rest of your day! 😃
  6. Okay, yeah I have it. I wasn't sure but I found a video of the exact thing I have on my car. I have a menu and stuff. So yup!
  7. I might have it then? I know I can see my consumption, distance traveled, speed, an alert speed etc... And I just discovered a menu when clicking on a button for some seconds. I tried searching for it on Youtube and stuff but didn't find it for my car, or at least nothing looked like what I have.
  8. What does the maxi dot instrument do? My dad ordered a "klavkarr 210", apparently it's a french OBD so we'll see how it goes. It should be easy to understand as it has an app like OBD11. THank you very much for your answers!
  9. Hello everyone, hope your day/evening is doing well! I'm finally deciding to look into this problem: I can't reset the service "light". I've tried doing the manufactory reset thingy where you push the reset button for the km and start the car. I don't know why it doesn't work (maybe because I remapped I think it's called like that my car). My dad tried resetting it with his OBD reader but it didn't work, maybe because it's an old one. So I'm looking for a more recent OBD reader to finally reset this thing lol If anyone could help me, I would really appreciate it. Thank you!
  10. I doubt it's the case. The old owner always brought the car to a repair shop when she had things to do on the car (I have every bills but haven't looked them in details, I should...). I'm gonna try to see if the wheel is well aligned and tell you, but she never mentionned changing the clutch. I bought the car used, it's been almost a year since I bought it and never really bothered thinking about the car pulling to the right. I'm gonna check the hub, thanks for sharing your experience. 👍 PS: the car is a first hand, it has 47km now (or 46k, my memory is ****). I have a left hand drive car, I live in France. The woman I bought the car from never said anything about getting involved in an accident, but my uncle who used to work on car noticed that she changed the front bumper because it is missing the sticker in the engine bay and screws have paint scratches. I don't know if she changed the bumper because she bumped it when parking or something like this or had an accident... I'll continue searching and look into what the other members told me. Thank you very much!
  11. Hi, hope you have a great day, My car is shifting/drifting/moving to the right when I let go of my steering wheel on a flat and straight road. I've verified the parallelism and the geometry of the car (I hope it's called like that in English), and the tire pressure is perfectly fine as it was verified too, at the same time. What could cause the car to shift to the right? I would like to solve this problem but don't know much about cars, even though I'd love to learn more! Thank you to anyone who read this post and tries to help me!
  12. In the engine bay. It isn't where the oil filter is because it wasn't unscrewed at that time. The screw just slipped through my fingers and fell somewhere in the engine. I tried searching for it but couldn't find it... Thank you very much!
  13. Hi, When I changed my oil filter today, I accidently lost the holding screw of the solenoid valve in my engine. I would like to know what screw it is so I can order it and put one back on. The screw is exactly the one that is showed in this video, the one just above where the oil filter is located: . I would highly appreciate any help. Thank you very much!
  14. Thank you very much for all of your answers. I will call my dealer to see if they have this part and compare the price. Many thanks, and I didn't know Skodaparts. Thanks again!
  15. Hi, I've bought my Fabia with the sunglasses storage broken (shown in pics) the tip which holds the storage close is broken. It has been screwed by the old owner to keep the storage closed but I find it useful so I want to replace it. I live in France and the only thing I found is the same storage but in white. Mine is black. I found a black one on ebay but with the taxes and shipping it costs over 70€, which I don't want to pay for some plastic. Does anyone knows where to find one or will I have to contact a Skoda directly? Thank you very much for your time and answers.
