Fabia Mk2 1.6TDI - Can't reset the service "light", searching for an OBD reader

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, hope your day/evening is doing well!
I'm finally deciding to look into this problem: I can't reset the service "light". I've tried doing the manufactory reset thingy where you push the reset button for the km and start the car.
I don't know why it doesn't work (maybe because I remapped I think it's called like that my car).

My dad tried resetting it with his OBD reader but it didn't work, maybe because it's an old one. So I'm looking for a more recent OBD reader to finally reset this thing lol

If anyone could help me, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you!

Caristsa should work, Foxwell NT510 / 520, or the best buy is VCDS.

I have same situation on my car. Think that situation is on cars fitted with maxi dot instrument cluster. Is your car fitted with one? About a month ago I purchased a obd11 diagnostic tool, service is due by end of the month and I sincerely hope that finally I would be able to reset oil service light by myself 🤞.

What does the maxi dot instrument do?
My dad ordered a "klavkarr 210", apparently it's a french OBD so we'll see how it goes. It should be easy to understand as it has an app like OBD11. THank you very much for your answers!

Maxi dot is a kind of more complex instrument cluster or to be precise it shows more info on car status, consumption, distances traveled etc.

I might have it then? I know I can see my consumption, distance traveled, speed, an alert speed etc... And I just discovered a menu when clicking on a button for some seconds. I tried searching for it on Youtube and stuff but didn't find it for my car, or at least nothing looked like what I have.

@Aeeluo

Is you car set for Variable / Flexible service regimes and this is why you can not reset the Service Info?

I know you know what this is now but for info on it (and lots more) look at your Owner's Manual or if you do not have one you can download a PDF from here (scroll towards the bottom of the page). - https://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/your-skoda

Okay, yeah I have it. I wasn't sure but I found a video of the exact thing I have on my car. I have a menu and stuff. So yup!
