Hot Passenger - Cold Driver- but not H Matrix!
If it's climate control there is a reset for the electronic vents I think which could be worth trying. I have the older manual controls so I can't help you there I'm afraid. I reckon it will be your heater matrix. I had the same. Silicon bag in the expansion tank had burst and contaminated the coolant. Flushed the coolant system, changed the expansion tank and replaced the heater matrix and it's all good now

Hot Passenger - Cold Driver- but not H Matrix!
Sorry to jump in on this old thread. I sent my 2014 Octavia mk3 in for a coolant/antifreeze change as I've opted to go another year or two before I change the timing belt and the coolant was looking very brown. Garage reported when flushed it was heavily contaminated and the silica bag had burst and has now been removed. Shame I didnt know this had all been done and put back together before I collected it as Id have said about replacing the matrix as Id read about it last winter as I noticed the heating was naff. Anyway... I think I have a Denso heater matrix need to double check before ordering a new one. Hoping to change it out next week if I can get the parts. Racing the colder weather. Can I ask what brand matrix you ended up buying? Will I get away with taking out the matrix without emptying the system before hand as its obv just been changed? be easier if I could just top up what I lose.... thats unless removing the matrix without emptying the system is going to flood out the entire footwell. Don't fancy that ahah

SKODA OCTAVIA S TDI CR 1.6 L - Heater issue
The temp gauge seems to be behaving normally. Gradually works it's way to half way or just below and goes no higher

SKODA OCTAVIA S TDI CR 1.6 L - Heater issue
Hi, Noticed in this cold weather that my heater takes ages to get any warmth in the cabin. And even after driving for 10-20 miles its only mildly warm. Noticed today it also seems to be warmer on the passenger side and still quite cool air out of the drivers side vents. From reading up I suspect it's a blocked heater matrix? looking in the expansion tank I can see a bag thing floating to the right hand side which I suspect is the renowned silica bag. Not sure how to tell if that is split/leaking? the coolant itself is pink/red(ish) still and doesn't look obviously contaminated from the top/filler. Looking at the expansion tank from the outside at the side where the min/max level indicator is the tank wall is pretty crapped up inside? (brownish and difficult to see the level clearly) could this be the silica or just general years of crap in the system? My only option really seems to be to have the system drained and flush, and if the matrix is coming out then it seems best to swap it out rather than flush it and refit. And from reading it seems like the expansion tank is probably best to be swap because of the silica bag? Feels like it's going to be a pricey one. £150-190 for the matrix and £35-45 for the expansion tank. Suspect the majority of the cost will be labor if I send it to be done at a garage? 3-5 hours labor maybe? Am I on the right lines here? Thanks

SKODA OCTAVIA S TDI CR 1.6 L Clutch Pedal Squeak
Managed to solve it. Got a small paint brush and painted a load of general purpose grease on the mechanism. Took a little while to work it's way in but it's back to normal now

SKODA OCTAVIA S TDI CR 1.6 L Clutch Pedal Squeak
Morning, I own a SKODA OCTAVIA S TDI CR 1.6 L Had this issue briefly last winter (occasionally) an annoying squeak from the clutch pedal. Initially I thought it was the rubber non slip pad on the pedal (figured if its cold and damp it might cause a squeak) didn't do it when it was warm or after the inside of the car had warmed up. Now it is back again this winter... with vengeance. I usually just crank the radio up, job done. But with my son in the car I don't tend to have the radio on. So with my son moaning and the clutch pedal squeaking when in traffic it can be somewhat testing. On the way to work today it was bad. I stopped at a screwfix that I passed and got some white grease spray and gave the pedal components some spraying. Doesn't appear to have done it though.... possible worse. thinking of trying some actual grease on the clutch pedal piston? Just wondered if this is ok? the white grease spray is quite easy to just wipe off and clean up with a cloth. Once I start messing with actual grease its harder to undo Thanks

MK3 Octavia 1.6 TDI Manual Clutch Question
Hi all, Hope you are all well Swapped over from a 2013 Fabia October last year to a 2014 Octavia 1.6 TDI Manual. Love it so far My question is regarding the clutch. Feels fine to drive. Changes gears with no issues. No crunching. Revs don't raise if I'm in 5th and give it some power on the motorway. Power all seems to be there. I do however notice that when I let my foot off the clutch, if pulling off at a junction or pulling off on a incline that there is a a slight "hoo'ing" hard to describe what it sounds like other than that. Not quite a squeal. There is no noise from the clutch when stationary with my foot down on the clutch or just idling in neutral. Is this a sign of the clutch failing? Should I follow up on this? Or live my life for now and not be concerned? Thanks in advance. Appreciate any advice

Rear washer not working - hatchback
Although to add to this... Looking at images for replacement motors I'm wondering whether this connector should be molded and maybe mine has broken off

Rear washer not working - hatchback
Hi all, I've managed to clear a blockage on my newly purchased MK3 Octavia. However the clip for the pipe that goes onto the back of the pump is in poor shape and flies off when the pump is activated Does anyone have a part number? Struggling to find it Thanks

Alarm problem fabia 2012
Hi, Did you have any luck with this? I've been having some issues with my alarm recently. I've resorted to taking the fuse out. It will occasionally go off but the lights just flash now. Might help if you need to shut it up and keep the neighbours happy. The manual will have the fuse diagram or if you don't have the manual let me know and I will check mine. Matt
