Delighted to report that my car has now been in the garage and the problem is resolved. Apparently an over the air update had not loaded fully and this was what was causing the problem.

Great news that it is working. Oddly mine started to work when we were out driving yesterday but after a few directions it went silent again. If it doesn't resolve itself by mid July, after our non driving holiday, I will put it into the garage and hopefully get it fixed.

Sadly still not fixed. I am hoping that it might resolve itself when some updates come in but failing that I will, reluctantly, contact the dealer. No immediate rush but I do want it resolved for when we drive through France later in the summer. I am surprised that no one else has responded to this query - must be a rare fault.

Hi, I have lost sound in the satnav in my 2024 Octavia. I have tried a reset (holding down the on/off button) and this restores sound for a minute or so , then it goes again. Display continues to work as normal. Settings all seem ok so has anyone else encountered and hopefully solved this issue? Incidentally, not sure if it is connected, but voice control isn't working - just a spinning circle round a car image.

It is now over two weeks since I got my car back and I am now feeling confident that they have resolved the problems. Only issue now is that I have lost the traffication app and the shop app refuses to open. I don't want to put the car in again so I will live with these minor niggles.

My car was back in the dealers last week. I got it back on Friday and since then I have driven about sixty miles with no issues. Apparently they updated the updates! Fingers crossed that the problem is resolved this time but certainly looks promising.

I'm already on the 1896 software. I have just driven 14 miles and have had the double pop 4 times; the SOS emergency call came on the 4th time. Car is going back into the garage next week but currently I am not feeling confident about it being resolved.

Yes it's like the noise you get from a plastic bottle popping in hot weather. The first few times It happened there were no other issues but now It is immediately followed by activation of the emergency sod call warning. It isn't location specific for me.

After 18 months of trouble free driving I started getting a double popping noise followed by the SOS emergency call warning. Took the car to the dealer but the software update has made no difference - the problem persists. I know that this issue has been covered before but I cannot find any explanation of what is causing this problem and how it can be resolved. Does anyone out there have any definitive answers or indeed recent experience of this problem?

As a Skoda driver for many years (I'm on my third Octavia) and as someone who has often visited this site I thought it was about time I did the decent thing and actually registered.
