  1. Like it says in the original post, this doesn't work on my unit. I've read somewhere that the old firmwares don't support this function.
  2. I'm quite certain it's the original firmware from 2009..
  3. Maybe something to do with the blower motor? Have you checked if fan speed affects the noise?
  4. Then you need an upgrade. See what you can find at the wrecking yards. Ones I can definitely recommend are 3c8 035 730 D and E. Earlier versions of the 3c8 (A and onwards) should also work but may be slower to connect etc. Most likely you'll also need to add a wire from the bluetooth unit to the head unit to get stereo audio. Once again, it's a simple job and I can give advice once you source the new unit. Units starting with 5N0 and ending in D or above should also work but I'm not sure about those.
  5. If I remember correctly, that model should have HFP. If you already haven't I'd suggest giving this thread a read: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/189618-rsap-bluetooth-to-handsfree-sucess/ When you connect to your car does your phone ask for a permission to use your sim card (or something like that)? If yes, by declining the permission it should connect via HFP. This gives you the phone function. From the bluetooth settings on MFD you should find a section where you choose an audio player. This is where you choose your phone as an audio source and get them tunes. The MFD menu is quite complex so I dont remember everything 100% but you should figure it out.
  6. No problem. I just upgraded the module on my car from 3c8 035 730 to 3c8 035 730 d. Required a cable from head unit to bluetooth unit but thats a simple job. Calls and tunes are working nicely. Only thing that's missing is I dont get current track on the screen and cant use buttons to control tracks. Head unit firmware might fix that but I'm happy with it as is.
  7. Can't blame you, bluetooth on the mk2 isn't very straight forward.. Take a look under your right hand side seat, you will find the bluetooth box under a plastic cover. Just slide it forwards. Check the part number so I can see if it supports the HFP protocol. Your phone will support it. rSAP is old tech and I don't recommend using it.
  8. Does the system find your phone? Have you checked phone settings, maybe it's not allowing connection? If your bluetooth unit supports HFP (normal bluetooth) and rSAP is not required I'd suggest you try to connect with HFP. Also, connecting for making phone calls and playing tunes have to be done separately through the MFD.
  9. Thanks, it really came out perfect! I was a little worried it would scrape on garage ramps etc.
  10. Eibach springs, new wheels and tires and a wash
  11. So basically I can't update it by my self with a cd? Bummer. The reason I'm asking is I upgraded the bluetooth unit and would like to be able to control music with steering wheel buttons or head unit. Currently the head unit is not showing the track that is played via bluetooth. Could this be resolved with VCDS or is it just something that would require replacing the whole unit?
  12. Hi everyone I have a Bolero unit on my '09 Superb Elegance. Where can I download a firmware update for my head unit? There seems to be a lot of information about updating Columbus unit but no so much about Bolero. I believe my unit has the original firmware version. Holding the setup button will not show the firmware version.
  13. Old post but I'm desperate.. Anyways, I got the D unit and the wire to get stereo sound for my 09'. Everything else works perfectly except I cant control or see what music is playing on the head unit. What do you mean by VCDS coding?
  14. The stalk is spring loaded so yes you can just pull it up and install the cover. Make sure you get it on properly before letting the stalk back down, since its a little tricky to get up if the cover is on. If it needs to be replaced, which I doubt, you need to remove at least one side of the bumper and pull out the headlight. Only thing left is to punish the kids.
  15. If you're talking about the headlamp washer caps, it's really simple. The difficult part is pulling up the spring loaded washers without removing the bumper. I think the safest way is to get a mate to hit the washer in the cabin while you catch the washer stem when it pops out. After that, the cap can be removed easily. It's friction fit with a couple tabs.
