  1. If you are using a diagnostic tool to wind back the EPB once you have changed the pads I'm fairly sure you need to use the diagnostic tool to wind out the EPB to a starting position.
  2. Have you though about getting a DSG remap? It raises the torque limit on the DSG to take full advantage of the power/torque from an engine remap / pedal box and makes gear changes faster.
  3. Hi All, Looks like the front drivers side spring on my 2017 Combi Sportline has snapped near the top. Couple of questions when it come to replacing it (I'll replace both front springs): 1. Would you recommend replacing the struts at the same time (Car has done approx. 200k miles)? 2. Would you replace the top shock mounts at the same time? 3. Is there any recommended replacement springs? My thinking is that given the struts have to be taken off to change the springs and that with the car having done 200k miles it might make sense to replace the struts and top mounts at the same time as a preventative measure. If I replace the struts I'm thinking on going for Koni Special Actives. What do you think? Thanks.
  4. Hi All, I have a 2017 Combi with a manual tailgate. I saw on the Octi form about a mod where you fit a spring to the gas strut on the tailgate so that when you open the tail gate with the remote the spring pushes out enough to open the tail gate and allow the struts to take over to fully open the boot. My question is: Has anybody tried this on a Combi tails gate and if so what springs did you use? Or, would the weight of the tailgate be too much to consider thinking about doing this? This is the link to the Octi II thread:
  5. Might be a silly question but did you try them with the lights turned on?
  6. Remove the plastic trim at the bottom of the windscreen on the passenger side. Sensor is just under the plastic. unclip sensor, and unclip cable. Refit in reverse order. Takes about 5 - 10 min. Then reset error code.
  7. I got one off Amazon recently: HELLA 6PX 012 684-011 sensor, air quality.
  8. Well I learnt something new today. Turns out that just because you have the mode driving button (Economy, Normal & Sport) it doesn't mean you have DCC shock absorbers. Turns out my car is on normal shocks. The good news. Replacements are around €250 pair fitted rather than around €400 each.
  9. Any body else know where to try for rear DCC shocks?
  10. Hi Num, I haven't tried the stealers yet. I had the car in to an Indy I use for a DSG service and general service. DSG was due. The previous owner said it had just had a service but when I checked the air filter it hadn't been changed for a good while. If the air filter hadn't been changed what was the chance of the oil and filter being changed. The Indy said the shock was leaking and needs to be replaced. They are getting me a price on Monday but I was just wondering of the Guru's on the forum may know of a better / cheaper option. I've also got a 2011 VW CC with DCC. The rear right shock went on it a couple of years back. From memory VW wanted about €450 per shock back then. For the CC I ended up getting a 2nd had one off Ebay. The CC has been fine since then an went through the recent NCT (Ireland version of MOT) no problem. Cheers.
  11. Hi All, I've been viewing the forum for a while and have eventually joined. I've got a 2017 Sportline Combi 2.0 TDi 190. Only had it a couple of months and my rear right DCC shock is leaking and I'll need to replace it. I've had a look about on the web and the only ones I can see are Bilstein's. There seems to be a big variance in price and they seem to be out of stock in a number of places. Any recommendations on any other replacements or where to buy them? Thanks.
