Crystal Face
I think it looks ok, but there are many many other things that you could spend £500 on.

Enyaq Coupé
I just don't see the point in these models. In my opinion one the stupidest cars ever designed was the BMW X6. If you want a sporty car buy a sporty car, if you want an SUV buy an SUV, but a sporty SUV is the worst of both worlds.

Delivery lead-time
My Enyaq was due for delivery on the 1st of September. Just been advised the earliest date will now be 22nd of October, and that isn't guaranteed. Reason given was the global shortage of microchips.

Skoda Enyaq - What Spec & Add ons?
How did you manage 11,000 miles for only £17? Do you live on a windfarm?

Skoda Enyaq - What Spec & Add ons?
Not at any cost though. £1000 is a huge amount to pay for the rare occasion when extra mileage might be needed in periods of excessively high or low temperatures. The heat pump is really designed for markets where extreme winter weather is the norm like Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, and the Alpine regions (or the opposite for very hot areas like southern Spain). The UK winters are comparatively mild, even in Northern Scotland, and don't compare to the regular deep freezes of the areas I mentioned. If it's absolutely essential for your home or business situation to have maximum flexibility in all weather extremes I don't think EVs are quite ready for your lifestyle yet. I thought long and hard before ordering an Enyaq, but I can count on one hand the number of times a year I drive over 200 miles in a single day. So, for me, EVs do work. On the other hand my wife travels the whole of the UK with her work and regularly drives the length of the country, so she won't be getting an EV anytime soon.

Toys and Accessories you have bought for your Enyaq
There are UK equivalents. These ones are made specifically for the Enyaq and are optional in fabric or rubber. The only difference is there is no logo on them. They range from £20 to £60 depending on finish with the rubber ones coming in at £34.99 and £2.99 delivery. https://carmats.co.uk/products/skoda-enyaq-2021-car-mats

Skoda Enyaq - What Spec & Add ons?
I only added on the parking pack for front parking sensors. I didn't upgrade the battery or heat pump because I rarely do more than 200 miles in a day. There were other things I would have liked, like rear USB charging points, but I'm not paying for child locks and window blinds which I don't need in order to get them. The packs are an annoyance because each one contained things I'd like and things I have no interest in, and it would have been better for the consumer if we were allowed to select the individual items we wanted.

Dog guard and boot liner
Another company I've bought from before is Rhino who are also in Leicester (are all boot liner makers in Leicestershire?) It could be worth giving them a a call if you live in the area. 0116 296 1355 Email: [email protected] https://rhinoukbootlinersltd.co.uk/

Dog guard and boot liner
Here's a great offer for anyone in Leicestershire... SKODA ENYAQ BOOT LINER Unfortunately we do not have the pattern for this vehicle. However maybe you can help our design team and in return you will receive a free fully tailored boot liner complete with a Bumper Flap and Split Seat. You will also be given the option to choose an Extender and the colour of your choice. To develop a new pattern for your vehicle you will be required to make two visits to our factory. The first visit will be for our design team to take the relevant measurements directly from your vehicle so that we can transfer this data to our CAD software and produce a pattern for your vehicle. The second visit which will be a minimum of one week later will be for us to fit the liner into your vehicle and take promotional images. After the second visit you will then drive off with your brand new liner. We estimate each visit to be approximately 1 - 2 hours depending on the vehicle. Whilst at our premises you will be able to wait in our comfortable reception area where the tea and coffee is always flowing. Dogs are always more than welcome at Titan so if you do not want to leave them at home please feel free to bring them along with you. Our factory is based in Hinckley, Leicestershire. We are just off Junction 1 of the M69 and are very easy to get to. Our full address is Titan Covers Unit 6 Skecthley Meadows Hinckley Leicestershire LE10 3EN https://www.titancovers.co.uk/skoda-enyaq-2021-onwards-custom-boot-liner/

Wall boxes (home AC chargers)
That's our tethered PodPoint installed. Very neat and tidy and very professional installer. All we need now is the Enyaq.

Anyone else had problems locating the bonding/earth connection for installation of a charger?
I'm in the process of arranging the installation of a PodPoint charger, but part of the site survey they ask you to carry out requires locating a bonding/earth connection from the consumer unit to metal water or gas pipes. If you cannot locate it they require an electrician to attend and either locate it or presumably install one. Our house was built in 2007 so is classed as a new-build. Our consumer unit is installed on a board slightly raised off the wall so I can see behind it. There is clearly a green & yellow earth cable coming out of the back of the consumer unit and disappearing into the cavity wall. I've looked everywhere you might expect to find a connection like under the sink where the stop-cok (had to spell it cok because the forum thought I was being offensive, lol) is, where the gas main enters the house, in the cupboard where the central heating boiler is, but cannot find a connection anywhere. Has anyone else had this issue? Any clues where it might be located? And if I can't find it can an electrician rig one or will it require installation of an earth rod?

Best enyaq colours
Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever actually specified a car colour before. I always shop around for the best lease or purchase deal which tends to mean a pre-orderd pre-specced vehicle, so you have to take it or leave it. Colourblind people must find car shopping easy, lol.
-
Best enyaq colours
Couldn't disagree more. I actually really like the energy blue. It's a bold colour unlike so many wishy washy greys, silvers, etc. Also, as long as the car isn't an absurd colour like canary yellow or luminous pink then the external colour is really not that important to me. After all, you spend all your time inside the car so who cares what colour it is on the outside, and I certainly wouldn't waste £600 of my hard earned cash just to change the colour.

Enyaq Ordered
Who knows. Could be a variety of reasons. If it's software perhaps there's an update being rolled out prior to July but you'd think they could do that on the fly without delaying deliveries.

Enyaq Ordered
Several dealers and brokers I've spoken to this week have confirmed that Skoda are not letting any supplier issue vehicles until July. Presumably some sort of marketing/PR campaign.

3 pin charging cable for occasional use
Yes, it was travel in remote parts of Scotland that made me think having a 3 pin capable cable would be useful. If we were staying in a cottage in the middle of nowhere the option to trickle charge overnight would be ideal.
-
3 pin charging cable for occasional use
Aah, I see where I've gone wrong. Mode 3 is home charging and mode 4 is fast charging. So to use 50kw fast chargers you need the Skoda cable? Is that correct?
-
3 pin charging cable for occasional use
OK, I'm still confused. When you buy an Enyaq they include a mode 3 cable (32A) for use in home wall chargers and 50kw fast chargers. This is the cable you'll use everyday either home or out and about. The extra cable we're talking about is a 2.3kw - 11kw which can perform a slower charge from a domestic three pin plug. Granted the Screwfix version can only do 2.3kw, but that would be all you'd need in an occasional emergency - just enough to get you home or to a fast charger. I still don't see why you'd spend £650 on the Skoda version when 99% of the time you'd be using the cable that comes free with the car.

3 pin charging cable for occasional use
Skoda charges £650 for their iV Universal charging cable with industrial connector 32A / 230V. Why is their cable so expensive when you can buy third party cables for around £200 that do the same thing? I'm assuming the Skoda cable is engineered to charge faster, but surely a 3 pin charging cable is only ever going to be an emergency backup in case you find yourself somewhere where a domestic 3 pin plug is the only option? In which case why would anyone want to spend so much on a cable that they may never use? Have I misunderstood some aspect of these cables?

The 'free' 20" wheel upgrade.
The cheapest 19" tyres (235/55 R19) start at £92 each, whereas the cheapest 20" (235/50 R20) come in at £189 each ! So if you're frugal it's the difference between £400 and £800.
-
The 'free' 20" wheel upgrade.
The free upgrade to 20" wheels is tempting until you see the price of 20" tyres - double the cost of 19". You're talking £800 for a set of four. Think I'll stick to the 19's when I put my order in.
