  1. Thanks Warrior193. Apologies if confusing. Timeline is as follows. Start engine - immediate 'Check Engine' light on, then less than a second later, EPC light on and warning re not exceeding XXX revs flashes up. Drive for a km or so and temp gauge rises rapidly. Car in limp mode. After about 1.5 - 2km temp gauge approaches red and overheating warning flashes up, at which point I park the car. Left it for two hours then drove it home (about 1 km) with car obviously in limp mode, warnings still showing and temp gauge climbing towards the red.
  2. No - the engine was not revving high. Display said something along the lines of "do not exceed XXX revs" with XXX revs number getting lower with time. Engine did not feel excessively hot - no sounds of boiling etc. Got hold of a code reader and get P00B7. Coolant level fine, so maybe water pump issue (did take a couple of kms for the overheating warning to show).
  3. Thanks all. Yes - fault indications appeared immediately after starting the engine. Will see if I can get it scanned.
  4. 2019 Octavia VRS petrol manual. 54,000 kms (33,000 miles). Started the car yesterday and both EPC and check engine lights came on along with max revs display. Temp gauge showed high reading very quickly, and car in limp mode. Checked coolant level and oil level and both OK. Parked car and left it for a couple of hours. Faults remained. Any ideas, or should I just limp it along to the service agent? I do not have access to a code reader. Car is regularly serviced. TIA.
  5. Thanks. I imported it from the UK, so do not know who the initial dealer was. I see a visit to my local dealer in my future...
  6. No idea if set up for variable servicing. Notification appeared a bit before 16,000 km (10,000 miles).
  7. As it says in the title really. Did an oil and filter change (using correct spec products) and went to reset warning as described on numerous Youtube clips (as below), but warning still shows. Any alternative ways to try resetting, apart from taking to dealer or finding someone with VAGCOM? Press and hold the long button below the dials labeled 0.0 / SET until the dash lights up Whilst holding this button, turn on the ignition and continue to hold Keep holding the button until “Reset oil service?” is displayed Release the 0.0 / SET button and press it again to reset the service interval warning. The dash will display “Service Reset” Turn off the ignition and now start the car, you’ll no longer be greeted with the inspection warning.
  8. 2019 Octavia vRS 245. Waring says "Oil Service Due". Have changed oil and filter with correct spec and tried to reset warning as detailed on various You Tube videos (i.e. as below). Get "Service interval reset" but then still get the "Oil Service Due" warning when I turn ignition on again. Any ideas? Press and hold the long button below the dials labeled 0.0 / SET until the dash lights up Whilst holding this button, turn on the ignition and continue to hold Keep holding the button until “Reset oil service?” is displayed Release the 0.0 / SET button and press it again to reset the service interval warning. The dash will display “Service Reset” Turn off the ignition and now start the car, you’ll no longer be greeted with the inspection warning.
  9. Road down the coast either side of Kaikoura is very good now - better than it used to be. However, the powers that be have now imposed an 80 kph limit along that stretch and even down to 60 kph in some places. Incredibly frustrating. Christchurch is coming right, but still some very uneven roads in some of the eastern suburbs.
  10. Thanks everyone. Just thinking ahead if all else fails, if I took it to the dealer would Skoda be able to re-code the head unit with the appropriate FeC?
  11. Hmmmm. Just went to the update portal and entered my VIN and the program only gives a number of different European maps as download options. Maybe I need to get Skoda NZ to enter my VIN in the local database?
  12. Thank you. I will give that a try.
  13. Thanks for that. Will I be able to do that using my Mac or will I have to use a pc?
