  1. I understand all recent posters frustrations, it seems to be the same issues I have been having exactly. I had the unit replacement and it still did not fix the vehicle. Interestingly the unit was switched with, at the time, a newer production model so either it still goes on or its not the unit causing the problem, no one actually knows and unless you can see what your car is doing throughout the night, many people may be unaware it happens (until one day they have a low 12v battery warning when they jump in their car in the morning) Long story short, now going through process of rejecting my car even though its a year later but the key issue possibly allowing it to happen is this brake light 12V issue that as far as my dealership is concerned, they cannot and do not know how to fix it at present. They cannot replicate the problem in garage and only have my security camera footage to evidence it actually happens e.g no data on vehicle shows any problems. SKODA ARE NOT AWARE OF THIS 12V BATTERY / LIGHT DRAINING The dealership reckons they are not aware of anyone else having the problem. I mentioned speaking to a few people on forum with the exact same issue but I can safely predict that unless enough people are reporting the issue to them, Skoda will not recognise it as a known fault and will not provide its dealerships with a possible fix
  2. No worries everything is related in this post and I am grateful for peoples advice. I had 3 options going forward and will tell you how they are going if it helps anyone, and I should reiterate that my car is going one way or another now, im fed up: 1) Ordered a brand new tesla model 3 because its cheaper than any used ones in this market and lead time atm for certain configuration is one month. Got a part ex value finally back from them, its ok but not great will probably refuse it. 2) As someone mentioned above, used car market is crazy at the moment, my wife sold her astra for a £1000 more than she was expecting using motorway as its auctioned to dealers and motorway take a cut off the winning bidder. More money to us = more money to them so they seem pro active in getting us a good price. The reserve price for my car is more than part ex valuation with potential to earn quite a bit more. Downside is would be without my car until my new car comes and not sure exactly what it sells for till I do it. 3) Having contacted VWFS a few days ago about rejecting car as had fault within 2 months ownership and still not fixed 3 attempts and a year later, they have contacted dealership who rand me last night. They have been understanding, essentially agreed that they havent/cant fix the fault atm and have been asking my finance details to look at rejecting the vehicle as faulty. Hopefully this option nets me the most money back but just hope the process works quickly now before potential delivery of my new car. Either way, I need my car gone now and the money returned is deposit for my new car. I had lots of positive equity in my part ex when buying the skoda and overpaid on finance to get monthly payments down. Either 3 options above means im positive equity and getting a new car luckily but obviously the more money I can get for this skoda now the more affordable it is for my new car. I think Skoda has dropped a clanger and cant deny that we have all been guinea pigs for the new software systems that are probably years from being rectified. Shame as everything else about the car and skoda in general is great. Maybe I will come back to skoda in a few years. Will let you guys know if the finance rejection is successful to see if it can help you
  3. Again great advice thank you. I collected the car March 2021 and have copies of emails with the dealership June 2021 booking the car in for the first time with the still current fault plus videos attached time stamped showing the fault 👍 Could be worth a shot at rejection. Do I just speak to VWFS finance or do I have to inform dealership too?
  4. Thats what I was afraid of that as you pass the 6 month mark it becomes difficult / near Impossible to do such a thing. Thats not a bad shout, thank you for your advice. I know I am taking a bit of a financial hit but its not as bad as I thought and I am just fed up with the problems with this car. Its also taken having a hybrid to make me realise I should have gone straight for fully electric. The market is good like you said but sadly it also is for cars I would be looking at. My heart is set on a second hand tesla model 3 which are silly money atm but I think thats the way for me to go if I get this car "fixed" then sell it on, a shame as its a great car just the technology is shocking and un tested
  5. So long story short: Ongoing issue with vehicle since ownership, coming up to 1 year old next month and car going in for 4th time for same problem that is still not fixed after various software updates and part replacements. Dealership struggles to replicate problem of lights coming on throught the night and draining 12v battery but dont deny the issue as I have numerous security camera footage of said fault. Car is on PCP finance with VWFS finance purchased directly with dealership car is going to, 3 years plan and I placed a very large deposit with my part ex when I purchased Mar 2021. Am having a BEV hire car when the car goes in and have already told dealership I am not having my car back until the fault is guaranteed fix and I am fed up and will look at other avenues if it cannot be. If they cant fix the fault, can I reject the car on grounds it is faulty and has never been fixed? Is it possible owing to it being nearly a year old? How do I go about it as I literally know nothing about the process? What happens during the process please? Am grateful for your advice please guys especially if anyone has done this and post 6 months ownership. Thank you
  6. Still have exact same issues re Lights coming on all night and software faults, car coming up to 1 year old, 4th visit to dealership coming up for same issue and last time they replaced the control module which obv didnt work. Am gunna start a new topic asking for advice from everyone to see of i can still reject car with vwfs finance for faulty vehicle
  7. Wow a lot going on but like you said very similar. You are mentioning things and I am thinking ah yes ive had that too! With regards to the fan, mine still does this and I always assumed that it was to do with keeping the battery cool, I may be wrong though. Since the replacement module/part from a new donor vehicle, touch wood I have not had any 12v battery issues that I am aware of. I am keeping a close eye on it still however. Im interested in what you say about the hv battery charging so would love to hear when you get an update. Maybe the fan is not supposed to come on so be keen to hear what the garage say to you. I have noticed that full charging now will not display more than about 23 miles of electric regardless of weather etc. To be fair it seems to be a more accurate mileage prediction than when it would on a rare occasion say 30 to 40 odd miles and get nowhere near it.
  8. So ongoing issue with my vehicle is sometimes having warning that 12V battery low. My security camera has been picking up the octy brake lights coming on throughout the night sporadically with no rhyme or reason (and no aftermarket gubbins). VRS Phev Mar 21 delivery date. Been in twice, had software fixes and most recently swapped a light switch module or something with a newer vehicle and monitoring it to see if now fixed or not. Possibly original poster getting same problem ive had of brake lights draining battery
  9. I consider it future proofing as opposed to any charging benefit as like you said only charges at 3.5kwh max. Owning a PHEV for first time I am confident that my next car will be a full electric, so it makes sense to me to get my electrician friend to come and fit a wall charger whilst we can still claim the grant; something that is sure to go in a few years time when more people adopt it.
  10. Following. I have same setup, an apeman mirror dash cam which comes with an optional reversing and rear view camera. Have you positioned the rear camera/where are you positioning it? I dont fancy drilling into the bodywork
  11. Its nothing to do with charging, not in my case anyway, please see my videos above where car was not plugged in on charge at the time
  12. Update : Car went to dealership for the day on Friday. No reason given specifically for why it was happening but they performed a software update via Skoda technical off site somewhere to fix it as well as the issue I had with parking sensors randomly stopping working once or twice. There was also 2 general improvement software updates available that they pushed through. If problem still persists will take the car back where they will replace parts. So far so good but early days. Echoing what is said throughout this forum, worth having chats with dealership for possible software updates that are different to OTA updates and are only available through dealership. Might remedy issues people have as they wont contact you sadly until next time the car lands on their doorstep for servicing etc. My car was delivered to me March 2021. As far as I was aware, I was already running the latest software version but shows worth pursuing if getting issues as its updating fast. As the dealership said off record, we are the guinea pigs with the new car and new software and are testing for any issues that crop up. Annoying, but Im happy to continue taking car back if needs be to get it perfect and whilst its still warranty and "new customer" territory
  13. P.s Definately rear lights only and looks more like brake lights to me 🤔 20210629134932021_042b625432614d87b132c4121e22c098_242409566_16-9.mp4
  14. Update : Car is booked into local dealership 2nd week of July. Awaiting to see what Skoda UK think about it and of its a known problem. Only really noticed now as always park rear facing away from camera when charging. Can confirm that this happened multiple random times throughout last night and early hours of this morning, lasts roughly 10 seconds each time, happened enough where when I started the car this morning had a brief warning on dash saying 12V battery low and to drive the vehicle 🙈
  15. Sooo.. same with me after a neighbour mentioned it one night and finally managed to capture it on camera. Looks like it is not to do with charging though sadly but maybe an actual issue or spftware gremlin. Be interesting to see of it affects phev cars only? I only did a 1 mile trip to shops after fully charging so didnt leave it on charge when i got back and it still flashed the brake lights. Will wait to see what Skoda say about it InShot_20210629_103957785_001.mp4
