Hi Col, The original build date was week 23 (week starting 7 June) but the dealer has been told that the build is at stage 7 of 8 and completion is delayed by component shortage. So mid-July delivery looks like being August at the earliest or, better still, September for the new reg. I love my ST but the current model is just too expensive plus we need a bit more space for the dogs. Toss up between a Kodiaq and a Superb. The iV seemed the best in terms or power, costs, space and I'm not a great SUV fan. Looked at VW, AUDI, Merc etc but the Skoda strikes me as the equal of these supposedly higher quality makes. But I'm buying a car not a badge!

Clearly, the international shortage of microchips is affecting production. I believe JLR have actually temporarily stopped production of certain models.

Thanks for your reply. I'm pleased at the length because either of those will be just long enough. Phew! I estimate that a cable of 4m or shorter just wouldn't reach.

I've been unable to find out the length of the 2 cables that will come with my new iV. Does anyone know the length of each of the supplied cables? Thanks.

I will shortly be getting a Superb iV and was intending to charge overnight on the 3 pin mains cable (my electrician confirms the ring will take the 2.3kw/hr charge rate). However, some posts above refer to this as an emergency measure. Can anyone see a reason NOT to use the 3 pin cable routinely other than it taking 5 hrs to charge the car?

Hi, I'm currently awaiting delivery of a Superb estate SEL iV after 5 happy years with a focus ST Estate. New to Skoda (but had a Golf and Touran in the past) but need the space and pace without the silly price tags found elsewhere. And I reckon my labradors will enjoy the extra space!
