  1. Thank you - There is a dashed line above the "crease" on the expansion tank, nothing that explicitly says "max" but I filled to there. Started the car this morning, was colder than yesterday - fine no problems - but I may get the dealer to have a look Trouble is, despite being very helpful, when I showed the fella behind the "parts desk" the error messages when I went to get the coolant... the dealer is one of these that want a £150 deposit before they look at anything and will only refund of there is a fault with the car. but I may go down and have a word with them anyway .
  2. Skoda Karoq 2021 2.0ltr Petrol Sportline 15k miles Hi Car last serviced by dealer in October (when it was due) The car is used on a daily basis mixture of long runs and short runs Jumped into the car this morning, fired up the engine, and was presented with a whole host of warnings, one after the other. (see attached images) I switched off, and restarted the car. and the same thing occurred. Well I don't know if it was a stupid thing to do, I proceeded to move the car of the drive (to see if it would still move) and as I did the warnings seem to clear themselves Apart from "check coolant" I popped the bonnet and there was coolant at lower than the minimum but some still there. and there was nothing dumped on the drive. As the journey was less than 3 miles, I drove to work keeping an eye on the water temp level.. and it rose, and levelled off as normal . Still the warning to check coolant. I visited a local Skoda dealer, and bought some of their recommended coolant, topped it up to the line on the expansion tank. Started the car... no error messages, everything is now fine. My Questions are On refitting the cap on the expansion bottle, I didn't double check for tightness. it did finish turning with a loud positive "click" so I guess that's closed now? Would all these messages be related to simply low coolant, did it just throw the whole system off? why couldn't it just say "low coolant" only? Thank you
  3. I recently (Last weekend) took my car to the dealer to collect my spare key that I have been waiting for. I also asked them to take a look at this message that pops up every time I start the car with the radio off. I have previously emailed Skoda Customer services, and their advise was to set my details to "Maximum privacy" which I did, but still the same problem after that they told me to take to the dealer, which the dealer said "It's because you don't have your second key, once you connect your second key to Skoda connect then it will not pop up every time I get in the car. So I get my key - they said they will be in touch to connect me to Skoda connect - not happened so I thought I would try myself I can log in to the SC via the website/app and each time I get.. So I take both keys into the car, and It will not connect I get this message I have tried over and over again, checking the log in credentials are correct I tried to connecting to the home WIFI in the car, but it wont even do that saying that the "security is not supported" (What!?) I tried unlocking the car with the spare only, no difference To be fair this whole system is getting very frustrating. it seems there is one hurdle after another to use basic features. I have emailed the dealer, waiting for a response. What is a nice car I am starting to feel that owning a VAG branded car is more hassle than it's worth. My issue with USB playlists not resuming is still happening, and has put me off using the media system all together - the dealer tells me it's the way i have formatted my memory stick and to read the manual for the correct way but I cannot find a decent explanation in the manual. Can anyone help me please Kind Regards
  4. Hi sorry for the delay in replying My Software is 0302 I took this thread (and the car of course) to the dealer last weekend and asked them to have a look, while I was getting my second key programmed (this has now got problems of it it's own) and they said there was no updates and the reason that playlists do not resume is that it's the way I have formatted my memory stick, and it's explained in the manual the correct procedure
  5. Would you be kind enough to tell me how I check the software version.. I can't find anything in the manual, on how to. Thanks in Advance
  6. Yes, I have emailed the Dealer and got a phone call back to say they would chase it and let me know when they hear anything. So I emailed Skoda to ask how to get rid of this message, and when will I get my second key and was given the usual excuses semiconductor shortage etc etc and that it will be with me as soon as possible but they cannot say when.
  7. Thanks all for your replys, and suggestions I've just revisited this post.
  8. Additional: (I don't know where to edit on this forum message) I can't use the MySkoda app or website as I cannot set it up due to only having one key Regards
  9. Hi had my ('71) car for a few months now, and while its a lovely car to drive, and I love the interior, etc there are some annoying quirks that "bug" me? One is USB playlists don't resume.... but another one that is really annoying is this message that pops up randomly. I emailed Skoda customer services and explained it pops up everytime I set off in the car - they told me this, and I quote from the email Me: "Everytime I get in the car I am presented with some sort of message saying that I am sharing my location, how do I stop this irritating message." Skoda: "Sharing your location will be synchronised with MyŠKODA when you are registered, to stop sharing now go to settings > Privacy > turn off share location." So I set it to, what I gather is "Maximum Privacy" using the pull down tray at the top of the screen, however it still pops up this irritating message Can any one advise me how to stop this message, it does not need to tell me every time I get in the car. does no one actually test these things when developing the software? Kind regards
  10. I have just Live Chatted with someone from Skoda Customer services. And Basically they said that this is the way it currently works, Playlists do not resume on engine restart and you have to reselect every time and they have had a word with the "Development Team" and if they fix it - it will be done in a future update via the dealer . Here are some edited screen shots, forgive my grammar, and spelling but I was working at the same time I know it's trivial, but something that is marketed as quality (perhaps) or even "Clever" this is a basic function of every media player.
  11. Mine shows the album art, my Mondeo didn't have this feature, but a playlist that resumes where you left of is far more useful. sounds trivial perhaps, but when you have a supposedly fancy system having to set this up everytime I get in the car is a right PITA Sigh I suppose I better let Skoda know, I doubt the dealer will be able to do anything. as the car is only a few weeks old surely any current updates should have been installed at the factory Disappointing
  12. Edit: I see the difference, it's an Amundsen
  13. Hi Just bought a 2021 (71) Karoq. Sportline - New to Skoda (VAG) I was a little disappointed, that the SD card reader had been removed. As the manual that is online (which I read cover to cover) stated there is one. I had to buy a tiny USB C stick to fit in the centre console to allow the cover to close to keep it out of sight. Anyway, I set the USB up with folders that house my music, not all in one folder or the root, but different folders depending on the genre, this is so it's easier for me to sort., and in the root my playslists that play in the order that I want. This is a direct copy from the USB that was in my Mondeo that I replaced the Karoq with The Mondeo would play the selected playlist as it was set up, and it would resume, where I left off on restart of the car after switched off or selecting USB from the radio, or simply switching the head unit off and on again. I don't know the model of my head unit but it's either a "Amundsen" or "Bolero" in the manual they both look the same On switch on, of the head unit it never resumes where it left off on the playlist, simply starting in the folder at filename "A", I have to then navigate back to the chosen playlist and it starts at the top again. The Mondeo always resumed where it left off even if you removed the USB stick, why cant the Karoq. I can't find anywhere in the manual that makes reference to this or how to set it to do this. (I don't want to have to rename my files with a track number. Many Thanks
  14. Hi all also posted on another Skoda forum under the same username I have just ordered, a Karoq 2.0 DSG Sportline, in Black. Already in Stock apparently, according to the dealer just at the "wrong site", paid deposit on Saturday 4th of July, just waiting for further info from the dealer. 1st time in owning a Skoda, (or anything from the VAG Stable) and owning a DSG normally only chose manual however it was not available in the 2.0 guise. my Bil has a Seat Leon with the DSG and says he won't go back to manual and "I won't regret it" .. I am hoping I won't. I parting with my 2014 Ford Mondeo 2.2d Tit x sport, which now approaching 90k trouble free miles has been an absolute pleasure to own and drive, what a machine it is. the only justification to part with the Mondeo, that I can come up with is that a diesel no longer suits my needs, and the past year the Mondeo is not getting the mileage that it craves. I originally looked at a Tiquan (after a mate of mine had one) however I have opted for this, because I can get a load more kit on it, for a cheaper price. So I am currently patiently (not so much), waiting to take delivery. I have already read the instruction manual cover to cover but I am sure I will have lots of questions upcoming. Kind Regards
