Head Unit Swap
I put a floating screen Sony in mine for around 650 including all trim, facia and steering wheel remote converter. £30 for a decent DAB antenna from the flea bays completes the Android auto system. One can purchase cheaper, but I've not come across any I would use. A decent set of speakers up front plus sound deadening material would set you back £125+. The amp and sub in my old Rapid spaceback are in the process of being reinstalled as I had a rattle! (Genesis five point one and Alpine Type R 10" DVC) Excuse the mess, and they added a couple of grand to the install! Go nuts by all means, but a brand name Android head unit plus fitting kit will set you back at least £600. Car stereo security in London are my go to guys for audio. 😅

Head unit swap ??
I fitted a Sony Android Auto / Apple Carplay screen with DAB to mine. You will need the head unit installation kit too plus Skoda will sell you the plastic surround for a few pennies! Cost of a decent floating screen starts from £200 from the cheap end to £1000+ so there is a solution for every budget. I spent £550 in the UK for the Sony. Give your local PAC/Auto leads/ Connects2 supplier a ring for the car installation kit specifics. A fascia, can bus adaptor and fittings cost around £75. Not cheap but essential. https://connects2.com/products/installation-kits/vehicle/Skoda

Rear screen wash repair
All! I've suffered not having a rear screen wash for over two years now and despite working on many cars I over that period, rarely get looking at the many issues on my 10 year old, 140k mile Rapid Space back! The fix was simple with the correct tools. First, pop off the rear high level brake light with non scratch tools. Be brave, it is held in with sprung steel clips. Next, remove the white clip that holds the pipe to the nozzle: Lastly, get a small pipe cleaner tool pushed down the nozzle which should unblock it. A load of black gunge exited mine. Loosely refit and test, then push the unit back once happy with the operation. Job jobbed!

Dipped beam dashboard light
There is no legal requirement to have a tell-tale for dipped headlights, so manufacturers don't bother in most cases

Sat nav retro fit
I installed an Android Auto "floating screen" unit in my 2014 SpaceBack - Google maps than gave me satnav Costed around £590 all in for the Sony Head Unit, Facia, dab aerial and steering wheel remote converter A bit pricey, but I love the 9" screen with smartphone control. The pic shows the head unit, which fist in a single din slot - The pic was from when I was showing a friend what I used to seal speakers against a door panel!

Replacing Infotainment system
Slightly better pictures. The amp and sub will be getting retrimmed after the new amplifier arrives!

Replacing Infotainment system
I love the Sony unit, having recently fitted the old model of this: https://caraudiosecurity.com/xav-ax8150-8-95-dab-media-receiver-with-weblink-cast With the facia and trim - around another £40 and £60ish for the steering wheel remote control, it's not cheap but well worth the handiness and vastly superior to the Chinese cheapies. Excuse the dirty pics of the boot - it's a working car and I'm a Spark by trade. I hope to get a build thread up soon.

I've got the Sony in my Rapid Haunchback and absolutely love it. Wired only though they might now have a wireless version. I've not seen a cheaper brand so can't vouch for the Xtrons type units.

upgrading speakers to Audison
Gordon Taylor (the Amp Doctor) has received it and will let me know in due time I'm sure after a platinum service!! 🤯 I'll probably make a post or two on the install when it's complete.

upgrading speakers to Audison
Audison are a great car audio brand. I've not heard any bad speakers. Just make sure that a good amount of sound deadening gets installed especially in the doors! If using a sub, then you can cut the bass to the door speakers and that will limit the potential buzz. I'm just about to embark on a genesis Famous Five powered install in my Rapid Spaceback! 🤠 A metre long!
