Dipped beam dashboard light
Derek-Mac replied to AndrewH2019's topic in Skoda Rapid & Spaceback (2012 > )
There is no legal requirement to have a tell-tale for dipped headlights, so manufacturers don't bother in most cases -
I installed an Android Auto "floating screen" unit in my 2014 SpaceBack - Google maps than gave me satnav Costed around £590 all in for the Sony Head Unit, Facia, dab aerial and steering wheel remote converter A bit pricey, but I love the 9" screen with smartphone control. The pic shows the head unit, which fist in a single din slot - The pic was from when I was showing a friend what I used to seal speakers against a door panel!

Slightly better pictures. The amp and sub will be getting retrimmed after the new amplifier arrives!

I love the Sony unit, having recently fitted the old model of this: https://caraudiosecurity.com/xav-ax8150-8-95-dab-media-receiver-with-weblink-cast With the facia and trim - around another £40 and £60ish for the steering wheel remote control, it's not cheap but well worth the handiness and vastly superior to the Chinese cheapies. Excuse the dirty pics of the boot - it's a working car and I'm a Spark by trade. I hope to get a build thread up soon.

I've got the Sony in my Rapid Haunchback and absolutely love it. Wired only though they might now have a wireless version. I've not seen a cheaper brand so can't vouch for the Xtrons type units. -
upgrading speakers to Audison

Gordon Taylor (the Amp Doctor) has received it and will let me know in due time I'm sure after a platinum service!! 🤯 I'll probably make a post or two on the install when it's complete. -
upgrading speakers to Audison

Audison are a great car audio brand. I've not heard any bad speakers. Just make sure that a good amount of sound deadening gets installed especially in the doors! If using a sub, then you can cut the bass to the door speakers and that will limit the potential buzz. I'm just about to embark on a genesis Famous Five powered install in my Rapid Spaceback! 🤠 A metre long!
