  1. Hopefully the extra wait was the wait for chips and will stay somewhat consistent for those of us waiting for cars with build weeks assigned.
  2. Looks like ours has come forward about a month (last we heard it was build week 42 - mid Oct), but in my mind that probably means it will be made then left to wait for chips for about the same time! But its nice if the dates are coming forward. This is about that date we expect it to be built when we first ordered, so maybe they are getting into their backlog a little with Enyaq's at least.
  3. Ours now has a build week of 42, so we have some progress at least
  4. Ah ok. I think 31/01 is the current 'catch all' date from Skoda UK. It was 31/12 then pushed out to 31/01. More a 'we don't have a clue' date than anything firm I think. Our dealer had one that was meant to come in and didn't but then another that wasn't expected for a month or so just been confirmed its on its way. So they seem to have no idea what's being made when and why!
  5. Is that something that has been offered in recent years by other manufacturers? I've never had a new car in the UK come with anything other than 'summer' tyres. I know in other countries they would offer a winter set - but that was usually another set of steelies and winter tyres. We run Qualtracs on both our cars at the moment (well car and T5). We live just over the usual local snowline (~250m), so get a fair bit of marginal snow (the kind that is only a few cm deep but once its driven on its deadly!). They are good in the snow and cold but I think they are a fair bit noisier than summer tyres. Not sure I'll fit them to the Enyaq when it needs it, we can keep the T5 as our winter weather vehicle and have the quieter tyres on the car. Unless anyone else ends up running all seasons on the Enyaq and tells me they dont make too much noise
  6. Not looking good for me then. Do you have a build week now? Managed to get the Skoda order number from our dealer today and they have also confirmed the order is accepted but no build week. Skoda UK on Facebook confirmed the same. Said we should get a build week in the next week or so.
  7. You've probably got longer than 2 weeks to change the options in the current climate. We were told it would be locked in by 2 weeks, but we don't have a build date yet and we ordered 3 weeks ago and ours is still open - although who knows when it will be locked down. We were told 17 weeks for delivery but that was after signing a waiver to say they can't give a date, and it appears a few weeks before they started to put everyone on a 30 week delivery timescale. Chip shortage has a lot to answer for!
  8. As the others have said, its will be down to it needing more grip for something. Be it to put down more power, take out more power (regen) or generally for more grip (bigger battery and more weight need more grip). Was made more trendy I believe by Porsche with their heavy engines in the rear needing significantly wider tyres out back. Many other (mainly RWD) cars are the same. My old Nissan 350z and 370z both had staggered tyres and had different amounts of stagger depending on the alloys spec'd with the car (bigger stagger on the racier Nismo wheels).
  9. They are not giving dates as they have no idea at the moment which cars can and cant be built by the sounds of it. Last time I spoke to our dealer he said he'd had some Enyaq's turn up early, while others still have no build date. What he does know is that they're now being told to quote 30+ weeks for nearly all other models other than Enyaq's, but everyone is made to sign the waiver from Skoda UK to say they will not give a date. It appears production of Enyaq is continuing but getting your car in reasonable time is highly dependant on getting the right chips it requires. Some builds appear to be coming through ok, others getting delayed by random amounts of time. I've also seen reports that the factory shutdown (wk 31/32?) was extended to start early by a few days and will also be ending a week later.
  10. Probably needs one of these mythical chips that they are short of. No idea what the chips are actually for - seems some cars are being complete without the need for them. That's not good, we ordered on 20th July and were hoping to have a build date soon, but realise now they are in shutdown for 2 weeks (maybe 3) so not expecting it any time soon, even though dealer seems to think we should hear soon.
  11. Congrats! Did they make you sign the waiver? Our dealer said he expected ours to be around min-Nov, but the waiver we signed said no date will be given and on the order form it says 31/12/21 which I assume is the current equivalent to 'no date'.
  12. I can see in the PP app it gives an indication of 'session cost'. I dont have the Enyaq yet so not signed up but the cost seems to indicate £6.90, which I assume is 10kWh@69p. I would imagine if you have a valid subscription then it would show the lower cost there? In terms of chargers, from what I can see its using Ionity (part owned by VAG) and it had Insta Volt last time I looked but my local ones have been removed so maybe not. What we need to know is if you charge up at one of the chargers using the card, what they charge you. My dealer said its not live yet, so technically shoulnt work, but would be the first time Skoda/VAG do something without telling dealers!
  13. One of the videos I saw from Skoda UK quotes the heater is 6kW max. So you could save 2.5kW but you'll have a rather toasty cabin if you kept it on max for an even an hour! Maybe if you say you have it on half power, you'll save say 1kWh/h, so you're only looking at a handful of kW even on a long journey.
  14. So I emailed our dealer about this and he said the latest update had dated 13th July is that PP is in Europe but not the UK yet and they are waiting on service agreements to be sorted before they are rolling it out. I pointed out to him that it appears you can already sign up (not sure if anyone actually has) and that it would be very poor form it they allow people to start the 12 month period if they can't use the chargers! Also hope no one goes to Ionity and gets charged full whack or can't charge at all!
  15. Did it come with the Travel Mode set to Left hand drive or did you set it? I don't think you should need to set it, should default to Left and the Travel Mode is meant to override it, that's how I'd expect it to work. However seems odd you set it to Left and the warning says you are set to Right!
  16. Doing a bit more Googling, it appears the price has been dropped recently to ~£1000 from ~£1250. Owners that paid the ~£1250 would likely be eligible for the ~£250 refund - certainly ID.3 owners have been told that. That must have been what Mr VW was on about. Skoda have charged us £1005 for the heat pump so that seems to be inline. Do feel like maybe we should have not gone for it, but this is a long term car for us and living in the Lakes it has been pretty chilly for a lot of the year, certainly more than when we lived down south!
  17. Just seen Luckypants reply, that makes more sense.
  18. He was specifically talking about UK customers. As Kenny alluded to, its a case of 'misold heatpump'. Unfortunately I wasn't fully paying attention to his yabber at the time, given he is a salesman. If we swing past the dealership at some point I'll see if I can get more info. I don't think this was them trying to incentivise us to buy as we'd we probably would gone with a heat pump if we went with the ID.4 (as we have with the Enyaq). Most likely Chinese whispers if anything, but interesting all the same if customers are complaining. Most likely a lack of understanding of the saleman and customers!
  19. I was about to say this should clear it up but I think it just adds more questions, and I don't have time to digest everything she's saying but there is mention of scavenging, as well as pure heat pump. Who knows....
  20. Had an interesting discussion with the salesman at VW about the heat pump. Apparently a significant amount of customers are kicking up a stink about it not working as expected and getting money back. We've placed an order for a Enyaq 80 Sportline with heat pump and its been noted on file that this is an outstanding question with VW/Skoda as to the effectiveness and if VW customers end up getting refunds for them then we will expect the same.
