  1. I struggled to find the switch in the dark. I have now read the manual, and have found the switch I need to use. No idea why it was not turned on before, but as the nights are drawing in, I need the lights to work.
  2. Does the Superb IV have ceiling mounted interior lights that operate when the door opens? I don’t have a sunroof, but all I see is the footwell lights lighting up, but not the reading lights. Is this normal?
  3. I meant wirelessly. I should have been clearer.
  4. My Samsung Galaxy S9 on Android 10 won’t connect. I tried again today, so I may buy the AAwireless gizmo. It is cheaper than a new phone…
  5. Thanks, but I am expecting the dealer to replace it for Free. The car has a warranty…
  6. Thanks. Looks like one of the tabs is broken. Now secured in place with speed tape until the dealer gets his hands on it. I have only had the car two and a bit months.
  7. What will this level of charge do to the expected battery life?
  8. Dragging this back up.... One of my lights is loose and can dangle out of the door. I assume this means that the unit needs to be replaced?
  9. I found the same info. I will check my paperwork.
  10. I never said there was an issue fitting 17” wheels. I just wanted to know what my options were. 16” wheels opens up more options on the 2nd hand market.
  11. I appreciate the help, but as I cannot buy an IV with 16” wheels in France (the options list state the option is not available for the IV), the sticker also shows me I can fit 17”, 18” or 19” wheels, I am pretty sure 16” are not homologated on the IV here in France. The manual is a generic document, and not specific to the IV. It covers all models. Yes, the snow chain section applies to all models, but if I cannot fit 16” wheels to my car, then the information is not of much use. I will of course confirm with the dealer and I will ask if I can fit 16” wheels. I have a good idea what the response will be….
  12. Just looked in the obvious place. 16" wheels may fit (although they dot appear as an option on the IV) but they do not appear homologated for use.
  13. Yes, but I have seen that 16” wheels cannot be fitted to an IV, so I guess that leaves me with one option… 17” wheels….
  14. Not sure 16" will fit. They are not listed as an option for the car. Looks lime it will have to be 215/55R17.
  15. As my car has stupid sized wheels/tyres on it (235/45R19) I understand I cannot fit snow chains. In France the "Loi Montagne" is becoming more widespread, and it happens to affect a few areas I travel to fairly frwquently. So, I have started looking at my options for my Superb Estate IV. I believe that the sizes that will fit the car (and are homologated for use) are: 205 or 215 / 60 R16 in 92 or 95 V rayed tyres on 6.5J x 16 ET41 wheels. 215/55R17 on 6.5J x 17 ET41 or 7Jx17ET40 wheels 235/45R18 on 8J x 18 ET44 wheels. Does anybody know for sure if the 16" wheels fit the IV? I don't see that they willnhave massice calipers due to the regenerative braking. I am tempted to go for the cheapest option, with the biggest sidewall for comfort, but I need to have a look at tyre prices, and what will allow me to fit snow chains. I shall continue my search, and talk to the dealer to see what they have to say.
  16. I get about 45 to 50 mpg on a run, but this is cruising just over 130 kmh (about 80 mph). The car will cut the engine on big downhill sections. I use the route planner, so the car plans when to use the EV mode.
  17. My IV switches to electric drive mode when stationary, and the motor stops turning. There will be no wear.
  18. No, I have a single tarif. Makes more sense when the home is heated with an air source heat pump. I used to have a Tempo contract, as the wife insisted it was cheaper, until I pointed out to her the mistake. We now have a supplier who is 10% cheaper than EDF.
  19. I think mine is Skoda connect related, as I changed the settings yesterday, as I leave home later one day of the week. It seemed to have upset it for some reason.
  20. For some reason, my car did not charge overnight. Not worked out why yet, but I keft the house this morning with the battery light in the red. The car is telling me it averaged 5.9l/100km and this is running in hybrid mode for my 20km comnute. If this was a pure EV, I would still be stuck at home waiting for the car to charge. As it is a PHEV, I can type this message from my desk at work.
  21. And how long did you have to wait for the battery to charge?
  22. I agree it is a shame. They were great, right up to the problem, and then they stopped communicating. They immediately blamednthe courier, even though the external packaging was undamaged.
  23. Where did this mysterious air lock come from? If you have not done any maintenance on the cooling system, then there would have to be a problem to cause an air lock?
  24. I will be keeping an eye on this post, as I know there is an update available for my car. Being an IV, I have no SD card slot. I have tried a USB stick in the front port, and it does not seem to work? The online download does not work either.
