  1. Hi All, I’ve recently had error code P2564 come up on my car (2019 octy estate 1.5tsi) however it is bizarre behaviour as it sometimes throw the code and puts the car into limp mode with an EPC light and Engine light on and a redline of of 4k and terrible performance. I can’t seem too find a pattern with the light coming on and off and sometimes it clears after a engine restart and doesn’t come back on for 1-30 miles- and other times after a restart it comes right back on. It does have a RaceChip tuning box, but it still has issues with the ‘dummy’ (pass through) box installed instead, so it seems not to be the fault of this. around 1000 miles before the issues started I did install a Forge air intake system- so this might be this issue. if you’ve had this issue and sorted it, or any thoughts on how I go about solving it do say! Thank you.
  2. @Trimmy ive had the issue for best part of a month but its bizarre, I drive from Cirencester to Somerset every weekend and back on sunday night, some 240 miles return. and only do 30 odd miles around town during the week and the car is always throwing an engine light on a thursday afternoon / friday morning, and it goes out after a good 70 miles on the m5 or so. the start stop error is more random and i'm yet to identify a pattern with that. it's like a good motorway run clears the codes and the car is happy but is less happy around town. Doing some searching Ive come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter too much to leave it, so il ask about it next service in some 7k miles, which at my milage will be late April time
  3. Hi All, I’m currently in the process of wiring a subwoofer into my Skoda. I need to take the mib box in the glove compartment out, however it only slides about an inch out and feels like the wires are too short to slide it all the way out. Please can you advise on how to sort this, I just need access to the front speaker wires to tap in a RCA adapter. Thanks
  4. @bigjohn I'm originally from Doncaster which explains it all!
  5. @bigjohn ah that seems to explain it, yeah I may have been a bit liberal with filling up at a petol station at £1.35/L trying to get my money's worth! il bear the one click HALTE in mind in the future! il get my multimeter out in the morning and have a look at the battery and see what's what. I had the clutch done the other day but the start stop issues were there before and the cruise is working fine, I think some digging is needed for the start stop.
  6. Hi All, i've just had my mk3 octavia 1.5tsi 2019 throw an engine light. OBD scanner says the car is throwing code p0441 'Evaporative control system incorrect purge flow' First of all would this cause issues with the start stop system as the car says 'start-stop error'- the code mentioned above is the only one being thrown Second how would I go about sorting the issue, I don't mind doing some minor work but if im gonna bite off more than I can chew do say! (My limit of technical work is replacing brake pads!) Thank you all in advance.
  7. Hi all, I've recently bought racechip's tuning box and I'm having great trouble at accessing the Boost pressure sensor, as its buried deep within the engine behind the throttle position sensor, and my sausage fingers are struggling to get to it. any advice as how I can easily get to the sensor without taking too much of the engine apart, TIA
  8. Can be dull if there isn't anything good on the radio! I loose about 5 minutes over every hour at that speed so its not so bad and I also feel a lot less guilty when I rag it off the motorway near home!
  9. I have a similar noise on my 1.5tsi but its slightly higher tone and more metallic. after some investigation its the waste gate connector rod rattling away. I think it was deliberately designed to have a little bit of play in it. it tends to go away once the engine warms up and runs a bit smoother. I checked this with Skoda techs and they said the noise is perfectly normal
  10. The cost of everything is going absolutely bonkers including the price of fuel! Subsequently I've tried hypermiling my 1.5tsi octavia to some shocking results. Running on Tesco 99 e5 momentum I got claimed 65.4MPG on a 94 Mile motorway run with 10 of that getting out of London. This was achieved by sitting at 65mph on active cruise in eco mode, had the A/C running but not hard as it was a 18* day, also had the radio running. Including my self and luggage the car had an extra 200kg weighing it down. I Thought this was too good to be true but I did fill up when I left and filled up when I arrived to get a brim to brim of 63.5MPG. This run was mainly on M4 heading west so it was not too flat either! I recon if I had no cargo, and was being even more careful I could get 68-70MPG at a push Has anyone else managed to get diesel MPG out of a petrol, and if so how did you manage it? pic attached for any non believers
  11. That's certainly going to add up 😬, any idea about how much I can push the profile of the tyres before rubbing becomes an issue?
  12. currently running the base spec 16inch wheels
  13. I'm training to be a rural surveyor, so minimal Experience in that field. come to think of it 50mm is ambitious to say the least
  14. I really like this idea, my Skoda needs new tyres anyway as the factory fitted ones are hopeless anywhere near grass and the tread Is a bit worn. as mentioned above its the 2019 estate 1.5tsi (150) HP model. its the Technology spec (fleet spec). so to get a bit more ride height could I fit tyres with a taller side wall then the standard ones to get some more clearance? and if so any idea how far I could go before I start running into issues with tyres rubbing on the Frames etc. Thanks
  15. yeah its not actually London based anymore, when I joined the forums it was. now based in Exmoor- deepest darkest Somerset UK
