  1. Just an update checked glow plugs 2 where faulty replaced all 4 had no re occurring glow plug open circuit faults. set torsion value to 0.0 wow 😲 what a difference. Car will now set off with no throttle just let clutch out slow pickup from 1000rpm now . Have done quick test drive no faults stored now since doing torsion value and glow plugs. egr fault excess flow hasn’t come back neither has glow plug open circuit, or mag sensor implausible signal faults👍 only thing to note note now is it still has some power loss like a fuel cut or boost drop then kicks back in , but no faults being registered. I’m thinking sticking turbo vanes I’m going to do a vacuum test on the turbo diaphragm to see if actuator is working also disconnect rod and see if it moves freely. Before I do that I’m going to disconnect pattern part maf sensor to see if it runs better no hesitation through Rev range . If it’s better I’ll fit an oe one. Any thoughts anyone to try anything else ? Thanks jr for the help. So far so good going in right direction. Hope this helps other people. ill update again after I’ve tried above. Thanks Simon
  2. Sorry forgot to ask do you know what the torque setting is for the bolts on the cam wheel 😂👍
  3. Hi Jr thanks for the reply, that makes sense he definitely had a new egr valve fitted there is a bill from Skoda for £650 odd pounds from memory. Is there a flap in the exhaust manifold that can carbon up and stick as well ? on the torsion value should I aim for + or - 0.5. ill do the torsion value first reconnect the airflow sensor and see what happens I’ll report back thanks
  4. I also meant to add I think some of the faults might be ghost faults ( fix one if the others sone of the others will go ? what do you think 🤔
  5. Sorry I couldn’t find images off Vcds these are off my Delphi but basically the same 👍
  6. Hello guys I’m new here.ive been reading some of the stuff on here and there is a lot of knowledge. im hopeful someone might be able to help me. I have recently come into my possession a 2010 Skoda Octavia scout estate. The previous owner had given up on the car and was going to scrap it 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️ It’s way to good. Well it’s a long story so you might need a cup of tea at hand to read this post 😂 so here we go. Oil pump let go on previous engine . So he fitted a Good used tall Bmm engine into the car and swopped everything over, but has never been able to get the car running right. So having spent a few thousand on it including the engine has given up. so heres the problem / problems with the running. Car starts first turn tickover erratic for first few seconds then idles nicely no warning lights. to pull away needs more than 1500rpm otherwise will die ,dip clutch and try to rev, will die and stall. If you set off 1500rpm will move off ok but flat in lower rev range. As you accelerate you can feel it boost then it like a fuel cut and pulls again, stutters as it Rev’s up through the Rev range .After about 2-3mins of driving temp gauge is 1/2 way warm up seems a bit quick temp sense fault ? then glow plug light starts flashing this goes on for a few minutes . By time I get to work elm light is on as well. When I read codes on Vcds it store air flow mass signal implausible intermittent,Glow plug 1,2,3,4 open circuit, egr excessive flow. If I clear these out and drive again same faults come back in. I cleared fault codes and disconnected maf sensor, its way better with more power and less stuttering. Finally I took a torsion value for the timing it was -2.5 on tickover. The car to my knowledge has had new egr valve fitted at Skoda less than 200 miles ago, new non genuine airflow sensor , injectors he said they used the best one from both engines. So I would like to diagnose it correctly rather than keep throwing parts at it any suggestions for checking in right order ? I’m thinking test glow plugs.and loom change torsion value to -0.5 check injector wiring loom, continuity and connectors on injectors. i wanted to test airflow sensor wiring but don’t have a pin out or wiring diagram. Lastly I was going to remove egr exhaust manifold and turbo and cooler do egr delete and clean everything and check turbo to see if carboned up variable vanes on turbo. Any advice greatly appreciated 👍 I’ll update as I go along and share. ill try to upload images of the Vcds screen shots if I can work out how to do it thanks in advance. Would love to get it fixed 😂
