  1. Depends on how cold day it is. If it's 0°C and warmer, doesn't matter that much. However, if colder (especially -10°C or colder) then I'd wait a bit before driving. I haven't gotten my Octavia yet, but in my previous turbocharged cars there is difference with oil consumption between waiting a bit or not before driving. My current car is 1.6 ecoboost focus, and without warming the oil level drops a bit between services. Without warming there's no difference in oil level.
  2. Apple CarPlay is Apple's own thing, ie. it's functional only with iPhones (and perhaps with iPads?). For Android phones like your Samsung there is Android Auto, which basically same thing as CarPlay but for Android phones. Depending on your phone model and OS it can work either via USB-cable or wirelessly.
  3. In my current car (Ford Focus '13 1.6 ecoboost) start-stop is rarely functional - and when it is it's pretty annoying because both engine start and stop is pretty noticable. With VAG-cars in general and also in mk4 Octavia cars which I had for some test drives (2.0 TSI vRS and scout 2.0 TDI) the functionality is barely noticable and doesn't bother me. Maybe during winter if the engine is too cold for my liking I'd like to disable it to both save battery and warm-up the engine.
  4. Greetings from Finland! I'm now 30 years old, and as a birthday present I decided to buy myself a new car. Having a baby and needing more space on both cabin and boot, as well as wanting to have an automatic car with ACC and 4wd, there weren't that many options. Or well, there were but budget set some limits... So, at the beginning of March I ordered Skoda Octavia IV Combi 2.0 TSI 190 4x4 DSG, in moon white color and with the most of the options, excluding ergo seats and panoramic roof. Original estimate for the car was in July (*snorts*), but apparently the car's production hasn't even started yet. According to salesman the manufacturing process should start during July, but we'll see... Hopefully I get it before I need to change to winter tyres!
