I hadn't so I just took the car out for 6 minutes doing about 20mph. So roughly 2miles travelled. Turned the ignition off and then on. Warning light and beeping is still there. I like to think that there is something obvious that I am missing...

Thanks Pete. I pulled each fuse out and tested it with the multimeter for continuity. They all passed. All fuses back in their slots and the warning light is still on. What would you try next?

So I was very impressed to see the exact fuse slightly proud (~3mm) of the others when I looked on top of the battery. I pushed it back in but the error still remains. So my question now is if I pull out this fuse and the others to inspect or check will it create other errors in the process?

Interesting. So I’m now contemplating buying OBDeleven. I’ve only just found it but people on Reddit seem to like it. It costs €120 and I’m imagining that the mechanic will charge at least that. Is there potentially anything about this repair that will necessitate taking to a mechanic in the end?

Yesterday our Roomster started beeping and flashing the warning light about the ABS. My first thought was to replace the ABS sensors – they are around £7 each and seem to be easy enough to replace by removing the rear wheels. I could also give the connections a bit of a clean at the same time. What are my chances chances of fixing the issue within 45 minutes of DIY work? I don’t have any diagnostic tools, but if this is a common fault with an easy fix it would be great to know what other peoples experiences. ScreenRecording_06-05-2026 12-39-50_1.mov

I thought I would use my bank holiday to have another go at fixing my control module issue. The module seems to be in the correct position but it wont clip in. Seems like I didn’t clip it in properly as the mechanic recently noticed it was still loose. https://imgur.com/a/DU5xYxT from this video (see link), is the control module the correct orientation? If so I will try again to clip it in to place.

Our beloved Roomster just failed its MOT because the seat belt doesn't retract properly. I can see that the part is on ebay for £38 and I am tempted to have a go at fitting it myself at the weekend. Does anyone know how difficult it is to replace that part? I am assuming I will have to disassemble the inner panels in the boot but have never taken them off before.

I wish I had read this post more carefully. Sliding the seat forwards is the key as it revealed the catches which I opened very easily with a screw driver.

I have the same exact problem. I found a piece of broken metal in the boot and the seat won’t release. See photo I have been wrestling with a screwdriver and spanner to release the latch or undo the nut. Neither approach is working unfortunately

A while back, a garage did some electrical diagnostic work and when I went to collect the car it hadn't been put back together properly. The garage had amazing google reviews but the work was very poor. Lesson learned. Door trim was half off and the control module was not properly fitted. See photo attached. I've had a look on youtube for something that covers fitting this, but have had no luck. Also I'm not sure which screws I are missing.

I am thinking of replacing the loom in the driver side door as a couple of wires are broken and I’m expecting probably more down the road. From Reading other posts I can see that taking off the door card, I can find the part number for the wiring loom. However, other users have said that pop rivets and or clips are also necessary to be replaced. How do I find which ones to buy? I have been looking on Skoda – parts.com, and I’m not completely confident that I’ve ordered the right clips and rivets or the right quantity. See my shopping basket attached. also, a garage lost the screws/clips for the electrical module above the pedals, and kept coming down. I’d like to get replacements for those too. how do I make sure I get the right bits? is there an online alternative to the Haynes manual, or should I get the actual Haynes manual or something else?

I'm seeing 6Y1959801 parts from Polos and Beetles etc, - will these work? Or does it need to come from a roomster or fabia?

Thanks! Fuse 11 is good. I just got the electric windows working by taking out some of the fuses in a particular order as follows. Take out fuses 51 and 52 Put them both back in again Tried windows but no luck Then take out fuses 51 and 52 again Put back in just fuse 52 and passenger side window works (but only with the switch on that side) Put back in fuse 51 and both windows working again. I did this trick just a few days ago when the windows got stuck down. The following day I think I repeated the same steps but no luck, but today it got them working again. Does any of that shed any light? I'm in N London

So I have a Roomster (56 plate) which I have owned for 4 years. About 2 years ago both the electric windows stopped working (the rear windows are mechanical). A few days later they both started working again. This went on like this with them both not working and then both working again for several months. I thought that it was related to the moisture levels in the car because there was always condensation on the inside of the windows. Eventually I took the car to garage 1 and they said they needed to replace a wire in the driver door and so I paid them £140 for that. A few months later and the problem came back but because of covid I wasn't able to take it in. 6 months later I went to a second garage for a service and asked about the windows - they said the entire loom needed replacing - costing £400. I rang a third mechanic who owns a Fabia and asked what he thought. He was convinced it wouldn't be the loom as he said those looms last for years. He needed to have a look to know more but he is a bit of a distance away so I thought I would try someone nearer. Then today I went to a 4th mechanic who specialises in electrical repairs. £30 later he said the diagnostics showed that it was the body control module and to put in a second hand one would cost £240. He said there were no error codes coming from the module even though the windows were not working. I asked him if looms break often and he said they break all the time. Anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? This is doing my head in :-)
