  1. As Mrsecretpotatoe said, Blind Spot Detection is only available as part of the Travel Assist Package Plus option, at £635 incl VAT, and then only on the SportLine trim. Given that it's standard on many other makes and models, this is annoying.
  2. I've found this web page on the Skoda.co.uk site, which suggests that auxiliary heaters are available in the UK, but that's not true, is it? Auxiliary heaters are not offered either in the brochure or the configurator, and I understand that they are not permitted under UK legislation anyway, so the website would appear to be misleading.
  3. I'm thinking of buying a new Karoq and was wondering which interior to go for. It seems that Suite is standard on the SE L, with Lounge as a minus £320 option. Difficult to judge by the pictures on the configurator, but I do plan to look at the options in the flesh at a dealers. Meanwhile, I was just wondering what other people have ordered, and what people think about their choice?
  4. I see VarioFlex seats are no longer standard on the SE-L; additional cost option.
  5. Or you could just switch it off, I suppose.
  6. I was in the Netherlands last August. The speed limit on motorways there is 100 km/h, which increases to 120 km/h at 7pm. On my final evening in the country, I was driving on a motorway and noticed that the car’s headlights came on at exactly 7pm. I can’t find anything in Dutch motoring regulations that says headlights are compulsory after 7pm, which might have prompted the car’s software to turn them on at that time. Was this the car being lever or was it just a coincidence that the lights came on at the exact time the speed limit increased? As I said, this was my final day in the county so I couldn’t repeat the experiment. Perhaps if someone is visiting the Netherlands this year they could check? The car is a 2018 Karoq SE-L with LEDs. Auto headlight set to Early.
  7. I had this problem yesterday. Unticked the box in radio settings then ticked it again, and notifications came back.
  8. Here is a link for a news report from 2020 about the proposed discontinuation of the Karoq and Kodiak 4x4 versions. From comments above, it appears that the transmission tunnel will still be in place. https://www.am-online.com/news/new-car-news/car-model-news/2020/06/01/rugged-skoda-kodiaq-and-karoq-scout-suvs-face-axe-amid-model-updates
  9. Thank you for all the replies to my query. You've given me some useful ideas for my campaign to persuade my beloved that a Karoq is the one for us. We've had Renault Scenics for over 20 years, which made sense when we had three kids, as those cars have three reasonable sized seats in the back. They are no longer kids (now aged 27 to 19) and so we're not going to be taking all three of them on holiday with us and we therefore don't necessarily need three full seats in the back. The Skoda Varioflex seats are similar in design to those in the Scenic but the Skoda middle one is much thinner, although the outer two are wider. It might be reasonable to regard the Karoq with these seats as, in effect a 4 + 1, able to carry four in comfort and a fifth when necessary. I might take another test drive, taking two of the "kids" with us (the third is not even in the country) and ask them to judge the comfort of the rear seats, comparing the middle and outer ones between the Scenic and Karoq. I noted the transmission tunnel on the one we test drove, and wondered why it was necessary on an FWD car, but Mark-Surrey has pointed out that there is a 4WD version. I understand that this version is about to be, or has been, discontinued due to poor sales. Perhaps Skoda are considering taking advantage of this situation by removing the tunnel for the next version of the model?

  11. I wonder if anyone can help. I'm thinking of buying a Karoq and my wife and I had a test drive recently. We both like the car but my wife is convinced the middle seat (it was an SE L) is not wide enough. She insists Skoda is lying by calling it a 5 seater. Sure, the middle sest is smaller than on our current car (Renault Scenic) but the outer ones are a bit wider and I don't really see it as a problem. It's not that we expect to carry 5 people that often, but she's fixated on this idea of the "lie" that it's a 5 seater. Can Karoq owners give me the benefit of their experience of living with the car's middle seat? Thanks.
