  1. Honestly, that is very minor and won't corrode over the coming winter months. Just get it smart repaired, and take out alloy insurance, well worth it if your kerb happy like myself! On another note, I now boycott pirelli for this exact reason, PS4s or Goodyear SuperSports both have good sidewall protection.
  2. Just assumed that regen came from kinetic energy from brakes, learn something new. Yeh I charge everyday to full. Without electric I'll get about 45mpg. I drive spiritedly so you could easily get higher than 75mpg long term. Plus if you just use e mode it will be much greater.
  3. I have iV VRS. Around 75mpg long term with a mixture of motorway and city driving using hybrid. Very comfortable, average road noise with Goodyear F1 SuperSport 19s, louder than my previous Volvo S90 which was on 20s. Only bugbear is the software issues but mine have mostly gone, just random PDC errors sometimes and ACC issues. Brake wear seems to be excessive due to brake regeneration. Can hear them squeaking sometimes so will probably need replacing within a year (21 plate car with 9k miles). Acceleration is good, really shifts in sport, could do with abit more top end grunt though. From low revs the torque from the electric motor really shows, very good at overtaking on A-roads. Handles like any premium VAG car, precise and clean. If you'd like more info just ask.
  4. I've also got a squeak from NSF, had it checked at dealers as I thought might be a faulty bearing, they apparently couldn't replicate anything and fobbed me off. Any more updates on what this could be? I still hear it now and again.
  5. The popping sound you are hearing is the CAN bus resetting, which means there is a break in the circuit somewhere. In our models, it's often due to SOS fault. When you hear the sound see if your SOS is going from green to red. You may find you get an error on the dashboard. Skoda UK are aware, your car probably needs an update! Check software information in head unit settings.
  6. Hey guys, in a predicament. I'm doing a long trip soon. I usually use android auto and Waze, but I'm unsure whether the car will use the Waze navigation data to automatically adjust the way the car uses the hybrid system for optimal fuel use, or whether I need to use the built in navigation for that. The manual doesn't really say much, just says it uses navigation data. Anybody able to shed some light on this? Kind regards.
  7. I've researched updating myself and that doesn't seem to be an option in the UK. Correct me if I'm wrong? Car is going in for an update after my holiday on in early October. See if it comes back in one piece!
  8. @AndyT60 Went out with missus and little-un today, the speakers made a mighty crack and just died. Canton system. Couldn't get it to work at all, was so angry I drove straight to the Skoda dealer and went mad. I've only had the car a week so was seen to by the service manager promptly. 20 mins later, he returned, hard reset was done and it was working - great! But they did say alot of faults to do with infotainment popped up, and to give him a call straight away if anything else pops up. Guess what! On the drive home, big pop and SOS error comes up. I've taken a picture and I'm going to email him later. Getting a bit of a ****take this car, but since you've said about this fix you've had, maybe it's greener pastures on the horizon!
  9. Any idea what the latest update is and how far mine is back? Keep having issues that are discussed on this forum like popping, SOS issues, user going onto guest mid-drive etc.
  10. Hi guys, Just bought the new Octavia iV VRS, in race blue, estate. Great car to drive, much smoother than my previous Volvo S90. Loving the extra space I'm getting with an estate. The DSG gearbox is flawless too and the hybrid system is very clever and already seeing the savings! Hoping to get a long life out of him! Regards, Jon
