Looking for EA888.4+DQ381 Tune Feedback
Alright, final update! A few weeks in with the Revo Stage 1 tune and what an improvement it’s been. For my application, Revo is no longer making a high/low torque map. It’s just one file with switchable maps for 95/97/99 octane. The mid range torque is impressive and coupled with the TVS DSG tune, driveability has improved drastically compared to what the car was like stock. They complement other perfectly. Fuel consumption has stayed about the same (although there’s a bit more temptation to get a little heavier footed), and temps are still spot on both in the city and on long drives. As expected, my issue has now become wheel spin all the way through first and second gear, sometimes to the start of third, so better and wider tires are in sight. Overtaking and getting up to speed have never been easier. Overall, if you’re been looking for just a little bit more of everything from your EA888.4/DQ381 combo without making any sacrifices, I can highly recommend it. As always, make sure to stay on top of your maintenance and run the correct fuel map.

Looking for EA888.4+DQ381 Tune Feedback
Alright, first things first, feedback after a little over a week with the TVS Stage 2+ tune! For someone who mainly does city driving, it’s been a massive improvement. Since it’s almost always a gear lower than the stock logic, the car is much more responsive to your throttle input. It hovers closer to 1800-2000rpm during city driving, meaning there isn’t much of a delay when attempting to make a quick overtake at low speeds. There’s no downside in terms of fuel consumption or noise, it’s merely closer to how you’d drive a manual car without lugging the engine. As you get to ~90km/h, you’re back in 7th gear as you would’ve been before. Shifts are slightly quicker, and 1-2 shifts when cold are seamless. I went with the following options: 1st gear disengaged, manual kick down disabled, auto-downshift deactivation in manual mode, and of course, gear indicator enabled. If you’re not planning on upping the power however, the drivability tune will get you most of the way there and you definitely won’t be disappointed. I’ve confirmed that the Revo sale is applicable at my local dealer and I’ll be there in a couple of days for a Stage 1 flash.

Thank you for the feedback! I do love the ability of being able to change the maps when needed and have access to all maps, it’s what I used to do with my old APR-tuned A4. However, to be fair, Revo does offer a budget version of that via the cruise control stalk that allows you to change between the various octanes and/or a valet/theft mode. As amazing of a selling point as that is, since 95RON is the highest available over here and isn’t necessarily the highest quality fuel out there, I don’t see myself going past Stage 1 on my daily driver anytime soon. I might do the intercooler in the future due to the heat over here, but that’s all. It’s coming down to the pricing at the end of the day. Stopping by the Revo dealer this weekend and, if it doesn’t work out, I’ll order a PDM through a dealer abroad and do it myself!

Looking for EA888.4+DQ381 Tune Feedback
Alright, TVS TCU tune is booked! Now it’s down to the Revo or OEM+ ECU tune. A little short on providers here, so Revo dealer or Racingline PDM (there’s also APR, but I’ve already used them before and I’m looking for something a little more tame). I’m actually slightly struggling to get a hold of the Revo dealer, but will make a bigger effort if it’s worth it over the Racingline one.

True, and there's a handful of good tuners out here, but since most of their work tends to be motorsport builds, I'd rather not resort to them. I'm more interested in a tune that focuses on partial throttle drivability rather than full throttle and maximizing power output, and sometimes an OTS tune is exactly that. TVS truly is unbeatable when it comes to DSG tunes. I was really hoping to find some good reviews of the RacingLine TCU tune that would convince me over, since it's all marketed so well and looks great on paper, but your feedback put things into perspective. Now it's down to whether I get a RacingLine PDM and flash the ECU myself, or drive over to the Revo/TVS dealer. Might just come down to the cost of it all!

Thank you very much for sharing your experience, that’s a really important point that wouldn’t have crossed my mind. I’ve been struggling to find anyone’s review of their TCU tune, but plenty from those with the TVS tune - all of which seem to be great, as you mentioned. Since the majority of my driving is in the city, that’s probably enough to push me in the other direction. Based on your feedback alone, seems like that’ll be my go-to, although I’m no longer in Europe, hence a lack of tuning options. I toyed with the idea of a TVS Stage 1/1+ ECU tune as well, but it also lacks reviews, and it’s more of a custom tune rather than OTS like the others.

Looking for EA888.4+DQ381 Tune Feedback
Hello all, I'm looking for some feedback from those of you who have their EA888.4 ECU and DQ381 TCU tuned. Ideally, from those with the 245 version, although I'll still happily hear out those with similar EA888.3 245/280 models. I'm currently in between two possible solutions: a comprehensive RacingLine OEM+ Stage 1 ECU/TCU tune, versus a combinations of Revo Stage 1 (ECU) and TVS Stage 2+ (TCU). In both scenarios, I'll be aiming for a 95RON, low-torque file, since I'm not only limited by the dealers around me, but also by fuel quality and grip (FWD vRS). I'm only looking for improved daily-drivability and some additional power under the curve. If you have experience with either setups, please let me know what your experience, what you preferred and why, and any other information you might relevant. Note: I understand the DQ381.2 TCU has only recently been cracked. As of today, both RacingLine and TVS offer the same flashing method via the TCU connector, but the tune itself has been around for a while for the '19-'21 cars. However, if you think there's something worth bringing up in regards to this, please feel free to. Thank you all!

The graph is a little confusing because both the power and torque are in the same color, so with two lines in each color and two different sets of values on the Y-axis - one to the left and one to the right - it becomes hard to read. If it makes it a bit easier to understand, the line that peaks early on is the torque curve, the one that peaks much later on, is the power curve. Nevertheless, congratulations @RoddersUK! Was it a hub or roller dyno? If it was the latter, did you experience any wheel spin? The curve has a few more dips throughout the rev range than I would've expected.

I’ve decided on RacingLine for both ECU and TCU, but haven’t had the chance to get them flashed yet since the nearest OEM+ dealer is in the next country over and I haven’t had the chance to drive there yet. If you’re okay with mixing and matching tunes, you can’t go wrong the TVS TCU tune as well, but I was looking for a one-tuner solution for both.

@32KOFDATAAny long-term feedback on the HS-CNC aluminum paddles? Have they held up okay over the years? Any issues with the 3D-printed portion? I've been on the fence between these and the black S2T Performance B3 paddles. However, I've been worried about the clearance between the S2T paddles and indicator/wiper stalks due to their thickness even though I've read raving reviews about their feel. After some time with them, how do you feel about the HS-CNC paddles' feel? Love your build!
