  1. A quick update. I put two lots of Wynns dpf cleaner in just under half a tank of diesel and drove it hard for a 100 miles with the pressure sensor disconnected (no change still in limp mode and dpf light on). This point i was kinda disheartened and left it for a few days, i decided to try again Friday and went for a spin. Disconnected the dpf pressure sensor and got the engine hot, pulled over reconnected the dpf pressure sensor and cleared all fault codes. Was driving in limp mode trying to get over 3000 rpm and the car just shuddered and got full power, flashing coil light and dpf light went out. Took the car on the m1 drove 50 miles, i got home checked fault codes and showed bank 1 pressure blah de blah so cleared fault codes. Next day i took it for a 100 mile drive all motorway above 2000 rpm.....got home no fault codes and seems to be running fine.
  2. I will do the same if i get mine fixed before you and post on here what it was, good luck and hope you get it sorted.
  3. No afraid not, still not fixed. What i have found though is if i disconnect the dpf pressure sensor it gets full power + full boost back and is no longer in limp mode (but the mil light will illuminate). The car will not do a regen when in limp mode or if the mil light on. Am just guessing, but to my limited knowlege i am thinking that either i have a faulty dpf pressure sensor (even though its throwing no code) or the dpf is blocked.
  4. I can believe it, mines a 2007 vrs 170. Both sills quite badly corroded and the tail gate almost corroded through where the number plate lights are. But surprisingly its totally solid underneath.....but saying that mine has done 216,000 miles and seen a fair few winters.
  5. Car had the amber DPF filter light on the dash so i took it on the motorway to do a regen. Was driving just over 2000rpm in fifth for around 15 mins and then the glow plug light started flashing and then the MIL light came on and went in to limp mode (no power and very sluggish). I pulled over at the next junction and checked for codes using Torque Pro and it showed P2002, I cleared the MIL light hoping to get out of limp mode so i could do a regen but no joy. Hoping its only going to be the G450 pressure sensor but not holding my breath. Can anyone recommend a garage in the Sheffield area that`s reasonable who could fit the G450 pressure sensor and set adaptations for it. Does it have to be a VW specialist garage or is any reputable garage capable of doing this?
  6. Ouch that`s quite expensive, especially if your going to have to pay VAT and customs duty on top of that.
  7. Am in the same boat as you, i got through the MOT with a minor exhaust leak. Two weeks ago my exhaust back box snapped off, so i took it in to my local exhaust specialist and like you they could not get the parts. But they did say they can build me a Powerflow stainless system for £500 (i said no thank you after i picked myself up off the floor). I did consider this :- https://www.hornetexhausts.co.uk/collections/skoda/products/skoda-octavia-mk2-vrs-2-0-tdi-170-hornet-exhaust-race-system-twin-3-slashed-tailpipes But god knows what it would sound like with no silencers !! Will be interested to see how you get on, so let us know what you decide in the end.
  8. I got through the mot with just an advisory for a slight exhaust leak. After a lot of searching on the web i will be going for a custom stainless 304 system,it might be overkill on a car that has done 216,000 miles but the old girl still pulls strong as a train and i am aiming for 300,000 miles next with a little luck (touch wood).
  9. Its a nightmare, really don`t want to butcher the system and put some universal back box on. I did see them on a Czechoslovakian website but they do not ship over here.
  10. Hi New to the forum and this is my first post so go easy. Back box is blowing and the car is going in for its mot on Tuesday. I took the car in to have it replaced (Hawleys in Sheffield) and they say they can not get hold of one from any of there suppliers, but they did offer to make up a stainless system for £500 (which i can not afford at the moment). The exhaust looks like its in one piece from a centre sleeve to the back box,up and over the rear axle. Thinking of cancelling the mot until i can source something, just lost as what to do next if anyone has any suggestions. I have been searching online but everything is out of stock.
