  1. OK I am an idiot, it wasn't the car, it was the new garmin dash cam, I have it out of my eye line behind the rear view mirror, but it was beeping if it thought there might be a speed camera in the area, garmin must have a GPS list of possible sites....
  2. Good lord... Wide, should be wife, Lord I hope she nevers sees that typo
  3. Driven a long journey today, mixed driving motorway and A roads, and I have had it randomly beeping at me, for no reason that I can discern, I don't think it was speed related (wide was with me!) i was using nav but I assume it wasn't speed camera related, it baffled me to be honest!
  4. to be honest the official ones dont look outrageously priced..but I am open to suggestion!
  5. I am tempted by nets as its big old boot!
  6. heres mine getting after getting a proper detail and treatment..off course its ****ing down now as I drive it home
  7. this is my first ever auto after only having manual cars for 30 years is there any cast iron dos and donts that I have yet to uncover for the dsg box in the vrs? I find auto hold great except when it comes to getting on and off my drive where stopping the car enabler auto hold and making it go again causes just that little jump forward or back and its a tight space backing out and people are either side of may gates is ok just to manouver using the low speed creep it has with auto hold turned off? ta Nick
  8. You are right of course, they will try to fulfil any factory orders already in the system with any stock they can get. But with them taking it off the options list, there must be a problem somewhere in the supply chain.
  9. Mine has Canton, came off the production line 5th October, I am guessing they just can't get the parts and mine was one of the last to complete with it

  12. hi all I consider myself extremely lucky I have just replaced my golf gti with an octavia vrs...went to the vw dealer and he said its gonna be a year and theres not even any stock cars to be had if I didnt want a factory order the garage also has a skoda half...( I have had 3 vrs's before then 3 golf gti's..and I had been thinking about going back anyway as the new golf 8 interior is nasty! and I really needed the larger boot for my fishing gear) so I popped in and said what can you get , petrol, race blue, DSG quick look on the computer there was a choice of 3 petrol octavias 1 of which was race blue it also had canton as an option...I said I will take it, it was still in germany, so we did the paerwork then I had to wait for skoda to release it I picked it up last night...it was built on the 5th october according to the nice informative envelope they included in the booklet, I visited the dealer on the 9th october and I collected it on the 29th october...is this some form of miracle and it was meant to be to bring me back into the skoda fold?? or am I just lucky as I was willing to compromise on options anyway the car is delight, amazing how the quality has moved on since I had a mk2 I am getting it gtechiqed up on the 10th november so will post some pics then
